Was the booze cheap? :rolleyes1

Reasonable. The Sangria was cheap I know that. Also I think we got a bottle of lime Vodka for around 11 euros which I thought was reasonable. However there are 2 booze shops and they have different prices so shop between the 2. We saved a bit doing that. Didn't have much wine but lots of spirits

Can someone post the link to the new thread? Forgot to bookmark it the first time. Thanks!

This one has to be close to closing...any post now!! ;)

Hope your night improved Lynne .... we can always tell when it's a full moon too from the type of admissions we get :scared1:

WOW Kimberly ...... this is great, so well presented. Must print it off and try and put names to faces so I will know who is who when we see you in the hotel :goodvibes

I will be avoiding the sangria after a very bad experience with it about 8 years ago ..... can't even think about it without feeling queazy.:sick:

Wonderful news about the kidney stone removal .... wishing Candida a quick recovery

:hug::hug: for you both for the next couple of days.

Thanks for all the input on updates to the PR Roll Call! I'm glad it's helpful!

Good news that they helped her out so quickly. Sending more :hug: for both of you and your family for the coming days.

We must not be viewed as a rowdy group since 250 pages came and went without being closed! With my luck, I'll go to save this posting, and the thread will be closed so I loose my text! [Note to self: Copy text before saving!]

Thanks for responding regarding your pre-cruise lodging decision!

Although I'll have 2 days before the cruise in Barcelona, I was also bummed to read that DCL isn't sponsoring excursions. I was looking at them on-line in fact, to help me plan out what I want to do Thursday and Friday!

You have the same ideas I have! Are you referring to the bus that has something like 44 stops and you get on and off wherever/whenever you want? I'm thinking about that, too. I think that's a great way to get a taste of the city. I did a similiar thing in San Diego on my first day there, and it was so nice because then I knew what I really wanted to go back and spend more time exploring.

Thanks so much! I can't remember if you mentioned you have your flight info already. Will you end up coming in via Philadelphia as well? There's quite a crew of us on USAirways Flight 742!

Casey and I arrive in Barcelona the morning of the 16th :goodvibes

Even though there are more than the 21 rooms we first thought- I think our numbers are still pretty impressive...

I agree! Quite impressive!

Thank you for the update! Looks like the majority of us at Praktik Rambla are arriving Thursday. Our predecessors will know all the ropes of the city once we get there!

Flying out of Orlando to Philadelphia..Is it time to go yet, the days are so long...........

talkative bunch yesterday:goodvibes I was busy back in german class. 5 hours a day 5 days a week. I am past basic conversation and into serious grammr and Iswear I will never really get it! 26 combinations of ways to conjugate adjevtives with the or a/an in fron of them depending on masculine/femine/neutral and the type of sentence it is:headache:

I checked a different website (http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/barcelona-airport-transport.html) and it turns out I had incorrect information. It will be 25-30 euros (depends on which terminal you arrive at) for the trip and there is a surcharge for bags. So it's cheaper than I had previously been told but costs more than public transit. The website says the taxis in Barcelona and clean and reliable. I will have two HUGE suitcases plus a carry-on so I may pay for the taxi because I don't want to haul all of that on public transit. And I can split the cost of the taxi with my friend. (Thanks Jennie!) :rotfl:
That is much closer to what I remember us paying in 2007. Taxis are pretty much always clean and reliable. We had 6 people and lots of luggage last time around and had no issues at all. We split into two taxis leaving the port and going to our apartment. They followed each other and we paid about 15 Euro each (apartment was close--in the gothic quarter). we took one van to the airport. The driver strapped extra luggage on top:eek: and Dave and his dad both said it was very secure. I think from the apartment to the airport ran about 20-25 Euro. I know we had budgeted more than we even needed.
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes.

The health care system in North Dakota came through for her. After spending three nights in a same town hospital being taken care of they discharged her with the plan to head to a large facility for a consultation. We got there 45 min before her scheduled apt. Waited for just a couple minutes before they called us into the exam room. No waiting there, doctor came in right away. Discussed the options. Do to the situation it was suggested she try to get in for a day surgery to remove the stone. The doctor left and within a couple minutes came back to say that the OR would give him the room at 2pm. Less than three hours from the time we got to the hospital in the first place. Long story short, 5 1/2 hrs after we walked into the facility, we were walking out. Minus one kidney stone.

Now the rest of the family will be joining us over the next couple days to celebrate the life my step dad had.

I am so very glad to read this:goodvibes

One of the best tours we did in Barcelona was the fat tire bicycle tour ....Real easy to peddle and keep up and it takes through all the different parts of the city ... I would do this again if we have time ..

Oooo that looks like a great way to see the city - we might do that one.

Would anyone else be interested if we did a "group" event for this?

As an aside, is anyone collating an "agenda" of activities and meets onboard? For the EB Panama, we had a fairly extensive agenda and daily activities planned that people could attend, some of these events turned out to be real highlights too.

Also should we consider getting a bus/shuttle or even minivans to the port instead of taxi's from the PR and other nearby hotels?
