I have to admit the Mushroom Rissotto is fab but the Chocolate Gus a little rich for me. I like the Raspberry one! Its mainly the second meals I hate as don't eat sandwich fillings and they all have loads of mayo in!

Yep...my husband doesn't like Mayo in his sandwich, but he does sometimes gets lucky. At least on the night flights you now get a hot breakfast, even if it is only a bagel.

Hi gang!

We got our decorations down last Saturday. DH took 6 hours getting them down.

here's pics of the decorations

Welcome back!

If you want to get to BCN first thing in the morning, you have to connect from your home airport to one of the non-stop hubs in the US: Philly (US Airways), Newark (Continental), JFK (Delta or American), or Atlanta (Delta). You can also fly N/S to BCN from Toronto or Montreal (Air Canada).

If you don't mind get into BCN a little later, then find a cheap flight overseas with a connection to BCN. Not sure what major airports are in the area, but Chicago might have a good possibility of getting decent flights.

Lufthansa has a $653 one way fare from Chicago to BCN connecting thru Germany on another Lufthansa flight so you don't have to worry about additional baggages fees on the European connection.

That is a good price fare for Houston. We don't have the competition for fares that are in the NE. Not sure what fares are usually like in Chicago.

I know that Air Lingus flies out of Chicago.

Good luck in your search!

Thank you very much for the advice. We'll keep watching for a few weeks. We just started hunting and it seems like there are quite a few options in the 6 to 7 hundred range. We'll watch for good times and a good price...

We are flying out of MSP. I have not seen anything that doesn't have at least 2 stops and 24 hours of travel time for under $1000 per person. We currently have air booked through Disney for $1081 per person. I thought I could do a lot better than that, but I am just not seeing anything reasonable out of MSP (which isn't surprising, I guess). Please post if you find any decent airfare. I could drive to Madison or Chicago if I could find it a lot cheaper. :)

Well Im sad now! Seems I am no longer no. 3 on the rollcall list infact I don't seem to be on there at all LOL!

Hi Sarah,

You will need to sign up and then guilt my DH - Buckeye Goofy (aka Glenn) into making you number three! :) He's a bit of a softie, so it shouldn't take much...

Sue

Poor you, seems like we are all looking forwrd

congrats granny Kathy!

Thanks Kathy.

While many people wait until the kids leave home - my parents dragged it on for years - they should have separated 20 years ago.

I'm not cut up about it at all - best thing they could have done as they weren't making each other happy in the slightest. So moving forward, 2010 should be a good year for all of us :)

Do we need to resubmit our details or will they appear in due course?

Please resubmit them. I know there are quite a few people on the old list that are no longer on the cruise, so I'm not sure how accurate it was, it was much easier to start over.

Thanks, Glenn

Thanks Sue. Didn't realise we had to sign up again but actually a good idea to do this as means you only have those of us going on the list! will do so now

Glenn resubmitted and Ill email the picture when I get back! Think I did it right. Like the way to do it now as its so simple and I didn't have to remember what to add.

Good morning y'all!

Hope everyone is staying warm. We will be setting record low temperatures in Texas for the next couple of days. Hope our plumbing holds up and doesn't freeze. They just don't build to handle the cold down here.

FYI, for those who don't know (like me) the DCL transfers from BCN airport to the port and Port Canaveral to MCO are $95 per person.

I think that I will be booking the transfers on my own. From what I have read, cabs should run about $50 from the airport to our hotel and about the same from the hotel to the port.

I need to see about booking a one way car from the port to MCO. DH doesn't mind driving and he's done it enough he knows where he's going. If we were dependent on me driving, we'd end up in Ft. Lauderdale! I have no sense of direction. :rotfl:

Ending up in Ft. Lauderdale wouldn't be that bad compared to ending up in the ocean again. Most cars don't seem to like being submerged. The holidays were busy for me in that sense. had to try to fish two out in the past two weeks. I love the 32F/0C water temps and snow. Nothing like a leaking drysuit to top it off:thumbsup2

We taped it it, it was not that exciting really, I was slightly tipsy by the time we watched it though!:woohoo:
You were just trying to simulate the roll of the ocean by being a lil tipsy, right:lmao:

Today I became a grandma for the 5th time:goodvibes
Its a girl, named Maryann. 8 lbs 9 oz which is a big girl!
I wont get to see her until the weekend because they live far away.

Kathy
Congrats.

Finally welcome back to those who haven't been around in a while.

Jon

Happy friday everyone,

Hope your all keeping warm. I cant believe Florida is suppose to get snow showers? That is rare.
In Oregon we are just having good old rain, rain and more rain. Plus the wind.
Guess we are very lucky to have such mild weather.

We have everything booked through DCL but DH is going to check out air fare soon and will probably book that ourselves to save $$ which we will probably spend to upgrade to a business class seat for comfort for just the longest leg of the trip. I hate those hard airplane seats and no leg room!!

Have a great weekend everyone. I am headed to see my new grandaughter and to visit my mom tomorrow. :woohoo:
Sunday will be grocery shopping and laundry.:guilty:

Kathy

No match for the snow pictures from Scotland and Wales, but not too shabby for Atlanta. It has the city pretty much shut down for the day as we have no snow removal capabilites whatsoever. We're at 19° (-7° C), while my brother in balmy Calgary is enjoying 41° (5° C); go figure.

Open the cupboard doors in the bathroom and kitchen to expose the pipes to the warmth of the house and leave a trickle of water running. We did this in Oregon and it worked down into the teens. Others had frozen pipes but we never did. Anytime the weather was getting into the 20s or below we opened the cupboards and left the water trickle. :thumbsup2

We visited your area last year in our RV. We spent 3 days at Stone Mountain snowed in! :sad2: Funny thing was that they shut down the snow park at Stone Mountain because of snow!! :lmao: We from the far north found this very funny. :rotfl: We were sad that Miss Katy's Sideboard was also not open. :sad1:

We are in desperate need of a Disney fix! I just booked a room at Grand California Villas for a week beginning Feb 3 using our DVC points! :woohoo:We will be at Disneyland for DrHug's 65th birthday on Feb 5!!!:dance3::yay: Now to get over to the airport this evening and book our flights. Allegiant Air flys from here and it is $28 less if I go to the airport and book it vs. booking online. :confused3 The airport is only a couple of miles from our house and it is small enough that I can run in an book this without even paying for parking (less than 15 min no charge for parking). :thumbsup2 So, for $28 I will make that effort. :)
