Just wondering if anyone has an educated guess as to how full the ship will be... What about upgrades at the port? Will they be non existant? Any guesses? Also, thoughts on upgrades in general... We are in a cat 4. Is it worth trying for an upgrade? We normally do a cat 6, so we are already in a larger room than we normally would be, but we are curious...

Last time the cruise was 50% capacity but this was mainly because there were a lot of couples rather than families. On the EBTA I think it was we asked about upgrades and they were available but weren't worth the money for just me. On the WBTA there weren't any. Always worth asking just incase.

Still, here as well.

Been busy at work. I love getting called back in to work at night after finishing a day shift, just to work through the night and be right back into another day shift. Another 36 hours without sleep

That sucks! I work that at the emergencys, but I have a bed and get to use it, MOSTLY! It is NOT good if I dont.Drive carefully!

Hey everyone! Haven't posted in awhile. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and is gearing up for the holidays! Tomorrow is my youngest sons bday, turning 3!! So I have been busy working on his cake and the inlaws came in today from VA. Should be a nice weekend.

So what is new around here?! LOL!

I suspect it will be a riot.

You just never know where apple pies may show up. I have been known to bake them at a rest area on the interstate for delivery to DIS friends.

We also always book a 12 if we can get it, 11 if no 12s available. I am not Scottish that I know of, but I too have that reputation!! Really my thought is to book a 12 and go twice rather than a verandah and go once.

I don't know about Angie, but we're supposed to get 2-4 inches tomorrow. I keep saying, "Hey, this is Virginia; it's not supposed to snow in early December!" As a matter of fact, I'd rather it didn't snow here at all. I wish the ski slopes could get all of our snow. I'm just getting too old to be shoveling that stuff. Bleccchhhhh!

We do not. They are talking "maybe a little" tomorrow and Sunday. It is just very, very cold, but no percipitation. Poor Dennis and a friend of ours had to hang Christmas lights on the front of the house this afternoon. They had to come in a couple of times to warm up and then go back out. I rewarded them with hot coffee and, yep, you guessed....apple pie when they were done.

Houston!!! Houston is getting 2-3 inches of snow for goodness sake!! Virginia is bad enough, but the Gulf Coast??? I'm sure it is that global warming thing once again.

We very rarely get snow these days. Memories of my childhood are of deep drifts!! Nowadays if we get some it is wet and nasty and causes huge problems on the roads because we aren't used to it.

You know, it's exactly the same for me. We got tons of snow when I was a kid but not so much anymore (of course I lived in NYC then; hey, did you know what they do w/snow in NYC? They push it into the Hudson River.) And just about everything we get is that wet, heavy stuff because the temps usually hover around freezing so it can't decide if it's rain or snow. It's funny; when we first moved here we actually heard announcements on the radio saying stuff like, "Abandon your cars now. It's snowing." They were joking, but the folks in this area are so not used to snow that they really don't know how to drive in it.

They are saying we may get some snow tomorrow.

When I was a kid you almost never got snow. Only a couple of times that I can remember and then it turned into a Silver thaw ice storm.

Noe last year we got plenty of snow and already they are predicting it again this year

People are crazy drivers on the snow here because we just dont get it unless you go to the mountains where the skiers go. I dont drive when it gets snowy. I dont trust the other drivers.

well my pups got me up at 5:30 to go outside I really miss our house with a doggie door and fenced in yard when they get up that early.
I zipped right back under my warm covers and soon felt 2 doggies snuggling under the covers too.
Pixie wamed my feet in a hurry but you gotta watch out for the wet cold nose

Now both pups are under their own blankets trying to stay warm.

Here they will cancel school if snow is even in the forecast. No joke. I think it's because they're deathly afraid of lawsuits if there was an accident.

Here if they have a threat of snow they do a 2 hour delayed start for school and then if the snow comes or it looks worse near the 2 hour mark they will cancel the rest of the day.

Kids hate having to make up days at the end of the year, especially the seniors.

I took picture of the pups under their blankets. If I get them downloaded later tonight I will post them. About all you can see are their noses


Now the wind has started up so it really feels twice as cold outside.
My daughter has the right idea. She is staying inside and baking Christmas cookies for a cookie swap today. That sounds like fun
Plus it would warm up the house.

Gotta try and call my other DD today. I want to know why she hasnt had my newest grandbaby yet??
