A couple years ago, our good neighbor (no kidding she was absolutely great) ended up selling her house and moving. The house ended up being purchased by some guy in like Arizona sight unseen as an investment. As a result, we have a rental house next door to us.
That first batch of renters was a mistake. He rented to two young single men (and one had a large dog) to share. Yep, they were about as irresponsible as you would imagine. I just called them Beavis and Butt-Head
The dog chewed up some wires on the air conditioner unit , TWICE in one week when they first moved in.
It kind of went downhill from there... the dog ended up chewing through an outbuilding door, he tore up the house, he would bark all night if they put him outside, he also dug under the fence and would get out and roam the neighborhood. The one roommate (Butt-Head) ended up (the one who owned the dog), ended up moving out and shacking up with some girl, leaving the dog and the other roommate (Beavis) and the dog alone together. People in the neighborhood were complaining to Beavis about the dog and all the noise. He was like always "this is not my dog".
After a lot of complaints, the dog "mysteriously disappeared" It seems that Beavis accidentally left the gate open one day, and the dog got out and wandered off. (yes, the dog couldn't be kept in the fence anyway, but leaving the gate open caused him to wander off to never be seen again, but that is "the official story" according to Beavis).
Thankfully Beavis moved out at the end of the lease, the investor learned to not rent to two guys in their early 20's. The other neighbors have been fine.
