So its official.... We have cancled the cruise
Our best friends (our god kids parents) are moving out of state, and we will need the vacation time to visit them.
We are bummed because the trip would have been awesome, but its more important for us to go visit them as much as we can.
Have a great trip, and we will be thinking of you next Sept 18th...

Hadley, I haven't been around much the last couple of days because I've been having a constant headache due to a sinus infection, but I've been thinking about you and the move! Give Rio a big hug from me!

Today was my first day back at work since my surgery. It went well, I wasn't as tired as I thought I would be. Tonight/tomorrow we're supposed to get a snow/ice storm so getting into work tomorrow should be fun!

Budget and San Francisco are not usually used in the same sentence.


Depends on where in SF you want to stay. By Fisherman's Warf, the Radisson, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express are pretty decent. In Union Square or Downtown, you'll do better with the smaller boutique hotels, but they will still be pricey. Try Hotel Diva, The Maxwell Hotel or Baldwin Hotel.

I hope all of you who have been/will be in the path of the huge winter storm crossing over many States are staying safe and warm. We got a lot of heavy ice. It was bad, yet even worse amounts of ice came to southern Ohio and Kentucky. We're fortunate to have power. I know some in Ohio do not.

Amy, how are you feeling? Between the weather and your surgery, this is one winter you won't forget!

We finally got our first snow fall yesterday, followed by freezing rain and sleet. I just got in from shoveling, chopping, and scraping. Blech. But compared to a lot of you, we've been pretty lucky.

I'm doing much better. I'm back to work...actually today we had a snow day! LOL!!!! I worked from home, which was nice. I'm still tired, but I'm getting there a little bit day by day.

I must say that even though we didn't get too much snow, we had ice and it did make me nervous to walk outside. I ended up going into work to get work and then coming back home. Once I was in, I was in for the day!

I'm relaxing and watching the Duggar Wedding on TV...just a simply relaxing night and it's great!

We are now UNDER 600 DAYS before our cruise! ​

Just think...we only have 5 more similar milestones left!

Here's an early HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to everyone.

Three days until I'm off to Honolulu for a 23-day vacation at my timeshare in the Hilton Hawaiian Village . The daytime high should be in the high 70s the entire time. I'll be following along with this thread to keep up (or I would be soooo behind - and gotta see how Hadley, Dave, Marika and Rio make it to Germany) and wanted to leave warm holiday wishes to everyone.

Thank goodness you had somewhere you could go to stay warm and safe. When we lived in upstate NY, there was an ice storm one October that knocked out electricity for 5 days. Since we were on a septic system (which operated on electricity), we couldn't even flush. We also ended up at my mom and dad's. It does help you appreciate the good stuff we have, though.

I know! I am grateful! It's nice to go back for a few days but its weird being back in a single bed lol

Lynne - have a wonderful vacation in Hawaii! I haven't been to the Hilton Hawaiian Village in decades I loved it! Enjoy the weather.

I am leaving in a few hours for Animal Kingdom. We are staying at the Lodge tonight - even though no animals are there. My husband has a really early meeting at The Swan, I am so grateful for those meetings.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, stay warm, and Buckeye Gal, don't go outside - enjoy the warm house, read a book and watch the Super Bowl!!!
