Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Hi everyone, I am here and have been reading every day. Things come in threes and mine have been dealing with this stinking Vertigo and double vision, my mother is not doing well and Hal's mother was not doing well either.

Today Hal's mother Oma went to cross over the Rainbow Bridge to finally see her youngest son Brad and her beloved doggie Freddie. She had been in and out of the hospital a few times and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. We really didn't think she would last until Thanksgiving. She lived a full 86 years. I just got off the phone with my youngest and sent him a ticket so he could get up here to be with the family.

According to my one sister, my mom is doing better. She has been in a wheelchair since May and now is in a rehab hospital. I don't know much more but will find out when my other sister calls.

Right now I am trying to work on my trip report to keep my mind focused. My MRI is scheduled for Tuesday and I hope to get some answers when the Dr gets the results.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

I hope you get some answers after your MRI.

 So sorry to here this.

Can anyone post the link to the photo share I can not find it and finally have my pics ready to post thanks :)

Terry, lots of hugs and pixiedust: for you during this difficult time. Please keep us posted as I am sure we all want to offer as much support as you need.

Just want to share what John and I did today. We drove up to Sausalito, got lunch to go at Sam's BFF's family store, Mollie Stones. Afterward we drove to Stinson Beach to eat our lunch. Once lunch was done, we went to Muir Woods. All in all a sunny, wonderful day...with temps in the mid 70's. I hope to post some pics later.

We had steady snow all morning but it did not stick. :flower3: I think we WILL have a winter this year. Last year we only shoveled snow 4 times, not looking like we will be so lucky this year. Dinner with good friends at McDonalds tonight. YAY!! The McRib is back. We don't eat there often, but had to get a McRib while they are available. :goodvibes

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. The outpouring of love here, on the DDA thread and on Facebook has been over whelming and my darling hubby Hal said to say a big thank you to everyone. The funeral will be on Thursday and it is amazing how many relatives will be able to come to pay their respects to Oma.

My mother is doing better but is not liking the physical therapy. She had developed high blood pressure a few years ago and is having trouble walking but is also having signs of kidney failure. She is ten years younger that Oma but I am sure she feels just as old right now.

Thank you again.:hug::grouphug::grouphug:

John and I have you and Hal in our thoughts and prayers this week.

I know what you mean .. I would be sad to see a Disney ship but not be getting on her. Do you have any plans to cruise on the Dream Connie?

First we go to do the MR in Januari and then we book a new cruise on the ship. We had made a booking for the Dream but the price was to high and the cruise to short. Maybe we will wait for the Fantasy, when she's ready i hope to see the ship again.

Great photos.

I will have a new camera for my next cruise. I love my little Samsung compact camera, but I came aross its limitations during the Transatlantic cruise. I have been eyeing the Panasonic Lumix FZ38 for a couple of years now, but never quite got around to buying it. It is my birthday yesterday day and Graham had decided to get the camera for me. Bless him, he stood in the camera shop and could not remember which one I wanted. So he gave me the cash to buy it. I had noticed that I can get the newest model (Panasonic Lumix FZ45) for a little less on Amazon than the FZ38 costs in the stores around here. So he paid the money back into his account today and then I ordered the camera using his credit card yesterday evening and it has already shipped today. Hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. I have the perfect opportunity over the weekend to give it a test run.

I had to work yesterday and had a rather exciting day. Those of you that have followed the Dubai saga, well, we have lift off. I had spoken to HR in Dubai on Monday and I was promised that they would make arrangements for me to do the written assessment here in Manchester and were supposed to get in touch with me the following day. Of course, that did not happen. I started to get rather frustrated with it all. Yesterday morning I had a call from one of our managers before my alarm had even gone off. She did not say much, just that we had heard from Dubai and could I please bring my passport to work as they needed some information. When I got to work, I saw that they had scheduled my written assessment for that morning. They also wanted a copy of the passport so that they could get started on making arrangements for flights and accommodation for me to come over to Dubai for more assessments and an interview subject to me passing the written assessment. Well, the assessment was easy. It covered what I do in my day to day work. My manager emailed it back and within a couple of hours I got a response that I had passed and they now formally invited me to come to Dubai from November 20th to 22nd for the next stage of the application process. I am just waiting for my confirmation for flights and the hotel now, but I am getting rather excited.

Congratulations on passing the written assessment!! Lots and lots of pixiedust: for you to do well in Dubai. Keep us posted.

Um, I think not. I prefer 3 months of snow (in a place where they know it snows and are prepared) to 9 months of rain, rain, and more rain. :)

Nice on the camera and YAY :cheer2::banana: on the job.

Paula, we still have not received our corrected certificate and I do not have one to fax. They took the incorrect one from us at Guest Services on the ship. We had no problem with that as we had no need for a certificate with no print to go with it. I'll wait a week or so and then call Jospeh if ours does not arrive.

I just looked at mine. Does the certificate have a number. Because mine only says Edition size 1,100 Artist proofs 50 Total Edition 1,150. There is no number on the print.

What was wrong with yours?

Walt and I have done that little excursion before when we were in San Franscisco. It was great.
