Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Good morning all. And welcome to all the newbies! Been trying to keep up reading all the posts. Enjoying a break in the heat today. It's nice to turn off the air conditioning and open windows for a change.

Rebecca, try not to stress about the cruise. Believe me, Disney makes everything go as smoothly as possible. It is such a hassle free, relaxing vacation! That is why we keep going back. DH and I consider ourselves simple people too. We will be enjoying Topsiders on formal night. As I said many pages back about formal night...don't want to buy a formal, don't want to bother packing it and don't want to wear it. Topsiders is a great option for dinner when you don't want to dress for dinner or when you would rather eat at a different time and have a quicker meal. That is what is so great about cruising...something for everyone. You can keep as busy as you want or you can sit and relax and watch the ocean go by. I plan on doing a lot of relaxing on this trip!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I tried to read all the posts from the weekend...but not enough time We had a great time at The Wiggles (Thursday) and Cirque Du Soleui (Friday)! Saturday DS (1 & 3) went to the poolk most of the day...trying to get our fill of the pool before it closes for the summer

The kids and I were working on our pillowcases last night. DS(3) is just loving this project!

As far as formal night...I am wearing a coral colored dress that is floor length in the back and knww length in the front. DH is wearing a suite. DS(15) is wearing dress slacks, dress shirt and a tie. DS(1 & 3) are wearing linen pants and linen shirts...grandam bought them some ties, but not sure is the are wearing them or not. Semi-formal night...I am wearing a knee lenght dress...nothing too fancy. DH and DS (15) will probably just wear dress slacks and a button up shirt...no tie. I was lucky to get them to wear ties one night...not going to push for two! DS (1 & 3)...have not even thought about it! They have really nice dress shorts and button up collored shirts that they will probably wear.

Karen, Haven't decided about pirate night it. Current plan is to wait until costumes come out next month and make some decisions. Based on how much I am putting off until it is closer, you would think I am in denial!
Brad, HELLLLLOOOOO HOw is Brady you know the one you canceled everything for????
Tracy and everyone....one thing to think of....my husband never gets sea sick either but when we went out to swim with the sting rays he did, maybe get patches for the "boys" during Lord Sheffield .? Just something to think about.... I am also going to wear mine at the parks. Duh, never thought of that before and I never get to ride anything! I'm slow but I'll catch up

Hello to all hope everyone has a good Monday I just really dislike Mondays

Jen, your post made me reread mine...WHOA!! Hold the PRESS!! I meant that I was pricing Christian's baby clothes and other things for Brooks upcoming yard sale on Sept. 3rd. Man!! Just the thought of where that could have gone at my age gives me CHILLS!!

Lot to catch up on at work, due to I usually do a little on the weekend...and that didn't happen. DS wants me to bring the laptop on cruise to down load pics on the ship (haven't even got the camera yet!) Just to look at it (laptop) reminds me of WORK!! So I don't know...

Well got to go, happy shopping to those of you that can go today...

My husband said he is going all out for pirate night with a nice black skirt and white shirt with a red sash! He said "lots of ruffles".......now he is playing along. UH OH

Actually, we are not going to dress up pirate-like. We will do tropical dress that night! I can't sweat packing any more stuff than I already do. Formal night will never consist of a sequin or floor length gown for me either. Dress as you like (within reason) and go enjoy the meal.

I did forget to add that Brady is doing much better, all the swelling was gone by Sunday morning. Power of Prayer!!!! The epipen issue was mentioned by the doc also.
I was in such a hurry last evening, I forgot to put that in my post.

Just got an e-mail from my T/A. She said first seating is still not available for me. She did say that she e-mailed her Disney Rep.. We'll see what happens.No docs yet either.
I am going to play a game called, "the sqeeky wheel gets the grease" with her in the next day or so. She has been most helpful so far, but we want first seating. Don't get me wrong this will by no means ruin the trip if it does not happen. Angela & I have went over it again & again. The idea of eating at 8:30 then not finishing until 10:00+/- is a issue.
I have vowed not to overpack this time. So my formal dress will have to stay behind. Sorry all.

No Pooh on board,not sure why though. I did read somewhere a reason that Pooh & friends were not on board.

Brad, I think you're only one away from Mouseketeer. I think it is at 75 posts, you go up to the next one. You can also go in your User CP and change it to say whatever you want if you do not want it to keep up with your status.

I just got back from Savers (read...Salvation ArmY) where you need to wash your hands/take a shower afterwards but you get the greatest deals. Got my son some pants and shirts for the cruise and some water sandals for both kids.
Hey girls only. I just found the best thing. If you have ucky heels, there is a file called checi foot file. I have NEVER found a file that does anything and this one is amazing. Three minutes later my sscccaarrry feet look like a babies. Just thought I would pass it on.
I'm off to get my nails done should be fun and relaxing which is what my day is all about. Volunteered in my daughter's class today and I really should be grading papers or something. This one on one contact with some of the kids ....well my patience is gone! I was nice.....it was just really hard! Dont' know how she (or any teachers) does it!

I did it, they added another ship! I know am going on the Lord Sheffield excursion. They just e-mailed me. I just informed my mom we got it and now she doesn't know if she wants to do it. Oh my God, I need o give my credit card to him by 4:00 so now can I say take two people off because I'm still going to go. I'm so mad! I'm not going to pay her amount if she doesn't want to go, will they redo our party to 6 instead of 8? Now I am very upset on what to do. Can someone help me within this hour?

Hey everyone,

Well, I'm just sitting here printing printing printing printing printing door signs. They are turning out quite nicely. I called the other company since the refund wasn't showing up yet. "Oh, it looks like they haven't put it through yet." Hmmmm - I believe it truly has been more than 3-4 days (that was last Tuesday), so the girl said she'd put it through herself. She did it while on the phone. She said it would show up in 24-48 hours. It better or else I'm calling back. I just really dislike it when people say they're going to do something (customer service-wise) and then don't. I was in customer service for about 5 years through high school, college, and grad school, so I understand everyone makes mistakes. But come on - every day I'm accruing more interest on that card! I called at 1:30 - "the lady who does the refunds is gone for the day." What??? Oh well. It will get taken care of one way or another.

I'm so excited the cruise is coming quick! My eBay shorts should be here in a week or so, I'd guess. Woo hoo!

Lorra, if you really want to do the ship, ask them to drop the party to 6. If they can't do that, tell your mother you still expect her to pay her portion since she backed out AFTER you already did all the work to get the ressies. That's what I think.

Lorra - Glad to hear they added a third ship! Don't sweat it with your mom, just reduce your group by 2. I'm curious who you went through as we weren't required to give a credit card - we're bringing cash to the pier.

We used Shoretrips.com becuase we got an e-mail back from the owner tha tthey were booked but when I went to Shoretrip's website they said there was room so I didn't know what to do so I booked with them.

You might want to try the Lord Sheffields web site again to see if they have additional bookings available now before giving that other company your info.

DH's a go for a pirate shirt. I'm gonna go shopping this week for a skirt and white top and i'll probably get some red fabric to put around my waste and pull it all together. If I see anything for the kids i'll give you a call. Maybe we can get DH's matching shirts.

Tracy, why don't you have Dave call jeff about this!!! I already talked him into wearing a tux, pirate clothes maybe pushing it!
