Sept 16 2012 - WONDERing who's on the Calif Coastal with me?!

Hi everyone!

I just found this board and wanted to say hello!!!

My son (age 10) and I are sooo looking forward to going on this cruise with you all!

We are set for the Muir Woods excursion and the Ensenada city tour excursion.

We are from San Diego so if anyone needs any info regarding this city - let me know!

Thanks!
Wilma

Hi, Wilma, glad to have you all aboard.

I have been to San Diego quite a few times, but I am totally unfamiliar with the bus system. We would like to take a bus from the terminal to the zoo. Is this possible without too many transfers.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was already a meet up at the Promenade Lounge. What time is the safety drill? On the MR cruise it was 3:30 so that's why I suggest 2:30 meet up. Let's consolidate and just do one meet up. Susan, I'll let you pick the time and place. Thanks!

The Promenade Lounge is the perfect meeting place for a DISmeet especially the first day. I would also recommend meeting at 3:00 as this will give folks time to embark, check out their staterooms and have lunch before the lifeboat drill.

Thank you, so much!!! And I'm glad that you have an even better deal! How did you hear about this anyway? I have checked and checked.

I read about it on a separate posting on the Disney Cruise Line Forum on the DISboards. I then checked on this thread but I didn't see anyone mention it so I called my travel agent to confirm and to compare prices. Soon after that I posted on this thread.

We are getting closer and closer to our sailing on the Disney Wonder!!

Here is updated information about FEs, meet-ups, etc.

FEs - We currently have 13 cabins participating. We will keep the list open until Aug 15th so if you have just joined the board recently and still want to sign-up please PM me with your information (names, ages of kids, cabin #, any celebrations and/or allergies).

If you are on the list an have a preference for which day you want to deliver your items or if your cabin # changes PM that info to me.

When the list is finalized I will PM the final list to everyone participating.

Meet-up on Embarkation Day - There will be a DIS Board Meeting up at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge (Deck 3). Everyone is welcome!! This will be a great time to meet so bring the entire family!!

Cabin Crawl - This would be a great way to see some of the other cabin types onboard! We could plan this for the second Sea Day. If you are interested in participating PM me and let me know what cabin you are in. How about an early afternoon meeting time?

Adult Meet-up - Anyone interested in meeting in the evening for a cocktail? How about the first Sea Day? Maybe 10pm-ish? Anyone have a recommendation for location?

It's going to be a great cruise!!

I don't usually take the bus, but it looks like you should be able to just take Bus 7 from Broadway and Front Street (0.5mile walk) down to the Park Blvd at Zoo Place no transfers. Cost is $5 day pass or $2.25 each way.

Grrr - I can't post links (I need 10 posts or more)!!!

San Diego bus and trolley system website is: sdcommute dot com I just plugged in From Broadway Pier To Zoo (or Balboa Park)

Map of Bus 7 is transit.511sd.com/Services/SDMTSRoutePDFs/7 dot pdf

Hope that helps!

Wilma,

What is the name of the group page on Facebook?

Luis

Sorry I can't post links (not enough postings - just found this board yesterday). The link was a couple pages back. It's called: DISBoarders' California Coast Cruise 2012

Hi Susan,

Let me research the Fish Extenders, and I think we may be interested in joining. I ask my son if he wants to participate.

But I'm all in for all the meetups! :) Yay!

September can't get here soon enough!

Thank you, that helps a bunch!!! I'm on it.

So, how do you cancel an excursion on the DCL webpage? It will NOT let me do that. I want to cancel the zoo and do it on our own. Found out thatI can purchase tickets here for $38.00 each and with bus fare, that is still over $100 savings of what Disney will charge us.

I have a similar question! We have Sea World season passes so we don't want to pay to go through disney to go over there since we don't need tickets. Problem is i have a 4 year old and 1 year old and won't have car seats with us. I know obviously in a taxi or car it's not legal to have them not in car seats but i know on a bus it's ok! Is there a bus we can take easily to and from sea world? I also thought about calling sea world and asking if we did bring car seats if we could check them in at guest services for the day if we do have to take a taxi.

You can call DCL or your travel agent if you used one.

To cancel on the Disney website, you have to log back on and go to "view your calendar". click on the day (Day 6 for San Diego). It'll list your activities and you should be able to cancel or modify from there.

That's quite a savings from what Disney charges!

Hope that helps! :)

All right, Wilma, I will see if that works. I haven't tried logining back in, but I have done the rest. Wish me luck.

Go to the sdcommute dot com website for the bus schedule. Looks like you can take the trolley to Old Town and then the bus from there to Sea World. We have season passes too! :)

Oh and if anyone is in the armed forces, Sea World gives a free ticket to you and 3 dependents! More info on website herosalute dot com.
