KSandbergFL:
I literally got to know of this board a couple of days before the cruise, so did not post anything before the cruise. But now that we are back ...
"We were one of the first families to make it to Pelican Plunge on Saturday... my DS8 went down the closed-in slide (the really fast one), and it scared him so much he didn't go in the water again, for the rest of the day. Another big bummer! But we did a bike ride, played some games at In-Da-Shade, and had a nice time just chillin on the island."
My kids went on the Pelican Plunge too; I did not because I wanted to do other things (which we did not end up having the time to do anyway - bummer).
What time did you bike around the island? We were there from about 11 to noon or so. We must have crossed each other.
The best thing we did was renting those bikes - the worst thing was that we got a couple of those Castaway getaways - snorkel, fins, float etc. We hardly used them - I should have realized we would not be able to use them as neither me nor DS ever snorkeled before for more than the couple of minutes at Typhoon Lagoon (or was it the Blizzard Beach), and that itself was not a fun experience for me.
"We have our next cruise booked... another 3-nt, in Sept 2011. We have to wait a full year... <boohoo> It was our last cruise on the Wonder -- what great family memories we have on that boat. "
I missed the tip that it is worth it to book onboard. Though it is too late for us, I was curious as to what kind of discounts/deals do they offer? Is this a common practice among cruise lines?
Our dinner rotation was AP, PC and Triton's - what were yours? I wonder if we came across anyone from this board on the cruise - I meant to note down your cabin numbers before we left for the cruise, but forgot.
I did take a few photos of a glorious sunset on 09/18. I plan to put them up somewhere online ... and post the link here if you all are interested.
Y's Dad
