Hi Everyone:
I am sad to say we can't participate in the FE in September. We would really love to, but with it being back to school time we really just don't have the extra funds. When we sailed in February we received a postcard from the concierge with a picture and signatures of some of the Cast Members. We can certainly replicate those for anyone who would like one. It's a very cute picture. I can bring a stack to the meet and greet.

On the cruise we also received a beautiful full size picture of the Dream. That may be a bit harder to replicate but I can try.

Yay!! Do you want to partake in the FE Exchange? We don't have many kids in ours yet.
Also, my little one is 3 years of age too and this will be his first cruise. He is so excited!!
He just keeps stating "I want to go on mickey boat, Please?" He doesn't understand reservations, waiting, yada, yada, yada and I feel bad.. lol
I just keep telling him that we are in line and when it is our turn, mickey will let us know.

I agree with TifffanyD...and not only because she's right until proven otherwise (part of our marital vows). Gifts can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish. That would be something that I would consider a great snag as an FE gift

Also, if you give those, think about all the cool stuff y'all will get as gifts in return!

OK, why not. I'll PM to get on the list. I will also bring some with to the meet and greet for anyone not participating in the FE. Hopefully you can take the full size picture of the dream and carry it for additional signatures.

I have a very basic one. I ran out of time in February. So I bought a regular canvas bag, lined the top with a Mickey ribbon and sewed on a picture of Mickey from some material I bought. Then I let the kids go wild and put whatever else they wanted on it. It is not fancy by any means, but it worked.

It sounds cute!! Back when I made ours I couldn't find Disney fabric so I did a fish theme - but then I printed out and ironed on some pics of Nemo and Friends. Turned out I loved it and haven't made another

Anyone have experience with your kids actually saying they don't want to go on the cruise. Of my 4 kids I only have 1 that is coming. Isn't that weird? School will just be starting and they don't want to miss days. I can't recall ever being so in love of school that I would turn down a cruise.

That is a little weird, but I know I used to stress out if I missed any days. I do not have kids yet, but I am sailing with my sis(LenaN4fun) who has kids and they actually do not have school that Friday we are on the ship. I think it is a pro ed day or something. We live in Florida.

My sis also got her cruise documents in the mail today, so I am anxious to get home and check my mail.

Weird!!! So growing up we didn't get many vacations and it would be really hard for me to turn one down. However, in high school and maybe jr high I wouldn't have wanted to miss a lot of time because I was academically competitive. And in HS I was involved in a lot. But if it was just a 3 night cruise and I was only missing a few days I might have been ok with it.

Yep maybe. I'm still a believer in living life to it's best and not worrying about the grades and what not. I was also in the gifted program, in Mensa and all that other crap. I hear ya. I was also in that cycle. Although most of it amounts to nothing as you get older, it did afford me the opportunity to go to college, for which it was worth it. So if they are that driven, I would just go with it! At least they are saving you money now on the cruise and, hopefully, later with free rides to college!

How is everyone's week going? Is it September yet??

I just heard from a friend that she is going on the Sept 2nd sailing of the Dream & its her first DCL cruise, so I am super excited for her & her daughter. They've been wanting to go on one forever.

Hmmm, I would say that any child who would rather do school than a cruise is either a very dedicated student or maybe just really can't wait to see their school friends again? Either way, it means your kids like school and that's a good thing!

Hi All!!!

We were very excited this evening as we went to get the mall - our cruise packet had arrived!!

To add to the exciting Disney mail, we also got our tickets to see Mary Poppins tonight!!! Show is not til the end of the year - but we ordered day 1 to get the seats we wanted. We saw it once before and it was AMAZING!

I ordered Fish Extender gifts tonight... should be here Aug 22 and I am excited to see how they turned out! They will just be part of it. Kind of annoyed because after I hit submit the price jumped and I didn't know about that charge beforehand LAME!!!
