Sept 13, 2012 Dream to the Bahamas

We are going Sept 13, 12
I paid the down payment plus a little more.
Our family is 2 parentals (me and DH) then 19 yo DD (w some special needs) 14 DD, 10 DS, and our little one will be just about 11 months (DS).
My DD 14 is really looking forward to the teen club. If anyone has a DS or DD her age it would be great to know she might have a 'friend' on board. Same goes for my DS 10- he is really looking forward to the kids area.

We are staying in 2 inside staterooms. It was cheaper to get two then 1 big one.
My DH lives on a boat 80 % of the year. ( He works offshore) He is finally excited about this! WHOOHOO! I CANNOT WAIT!
We are staying at Disney World for a couple of days before the trip.
I have to give a big to my husband. He is "letting" me do this. I think he secretly wants to go but doesn't want to admit it.
Oh, We would love to do a FE! It would be fun!

Where are you staying at WDW? We're also doing the parks before our cruise. We'll be staying at POR. My boys are 18, 13 & 11 so they are close to your kid's ages.

Do you have your transportation from the resort to the ship situated yet? We were planning on doing Disney transportation but now I'm having 2nd thoughts.

Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I will be on this cruise, as well as my sister, her husband and their two kids. This will be my frist Disney cruise. I only started cruising just last year. My first cruise was with carnival and I had a blast! I am a Disney nut, so I had to book a Disney cruise. I would also love to join in with doing the Fish Extenders. I actually already bought my stuff to make my extender. My BF and I will be staying in an inside room. The port hole looked really neat. I can't wait to hear from you all!

Welcome! I know you'll really enjoy the Disney cruise. My first cruise experience was with Disney last year, but now that I've been spoiled by their level of detail and service, I can't imagine trying out another cruiseline! They really are the cream of the crop!

This will be my 3rd Disney Cruise and I did the fish extenders both times before on the Disney Wonder. My son made out like a bandit but I loved running through the floors dropping off goodies into other FE's hanging from our meet and greet group. I have my 13yr old son (he will actually be 14 the day after this cruise ends) and I will be bringing along my 3yr old son who has NEVER been on a cruise before. (That is why I am making a new FE so both boys have their own goodie slot). I def would like to do a meet and greet!!! Thanks, Lena

It's nice to see some new activity in this group! This is my wedding cruise with my fiance and about 50 guests! Eep! With my own wedding favor bags, I'm going to count myself out of this FE, but I'll probably do them on future cruises. I hope you understand! I'll just have WAY too much going on with so many wedding guests on such a short cruise!

I'll be getting married onboard while docked in Nassau- so if you see me wandering around the ship that day, feel free to stop by and say hi! (I'll be the one in white! hah!)

This cruise can not come soon enough. I have never been to the Bahamas and my boyfriend and his parents want to do a fishing excursion. Does anyone know of a fishing one? I saw there was one at Castaway Cay, but I do not want him to miss one minute at the island.

I don't know of any fishing excursions except for the one at Castaway Cay. I'm sure you could find some options around Nassau, but I would be careful about booking excursions apart from Disney.

I totally understand about not wanting to miss Castaway Cay. But if they start early (about 9am) and end around noon or 1pm, that would still leave enough time to eat, swim, and relax on the island.

OK great! Thanks so much. I am truly hoping they decide not to fish just because we live in Florida and that is something we can do anytime, but we will see. I am sure they will end up doing the Castway Cay one and it is only a couple of hours long.

Can't wait to see tonight's episode of "My Yard Goes Disney" on HGTV (8pm EST) as they recreate Castaway Cay in someone's backyard. They followed the family on a Disney Dream cruise to the Bahamas, so I'm sure there will be some awesome clips to watch!

Not too long before we are at Castaway Cay ourselves, listening to steel drum music!

I just checked the Disney Cruise Line website, looks like they have lots of staterooms still available in every category. Do people wait this close to a cruise to book?
