Sept. 11th, 2004!!! Roll Call!

amgpmg- Thanks for sharing your photos I love the one of your kids asleep on the floor all dressed up that is to sweet.
:) We are staying at the Amerisuites at the airport our first night and lets be positive Lisa! We will be in on time!:p

Thanks to all the well wishes following our experience with Hurrican Charley. We are back in our home today...with power...after 5 days without!:jumping1: It is so nice to be home!

The last thing I could think about was the cruise...so, now as the excitement starts to build it is like starting the planning all over again! Wooho! My husband is a police lieutenant and has spent all of the past week dealing with the hurricane. He really needs and deserves this cruise! He had a call yesterday from a woman who did not have power or a generator. Her neighbor had a generator, and she wanted him to turn it off because it might confuse Progress Energy and they would think we (the whole street)had power and they would pass us by!!:crazy2:

DCL...here we come!!!
Tracy:sunny:

Jeeze that took forever! I was begining to wonder if we were going to make it! My friend works on the ship and we had to wait for them to post the dates... they were finally posted this past week...and we even got our veranda! I hear most of the inside cabins are full and they are having difficulties booking families with kids. When all the kids programs are full they stop booking families with kids you know. Any how, we got a category 5, deck 6 aft! Now that it is official we can really get excited! I am glad i did not buy my formal in vein! Now it is time to start booking excursions! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Good for you Femmfaerie!:bounce: :Pinkbounc I haven't started my cruise shopping yet...distracted by a Hurricane! I think it is the post-hurricane therapy I need!
Off to the mall!
Tracy :)

Just found website. Cruising out on 9/11 also with DH, DD (8) and DS (5). Couldn't read all the posts - any playmates available?

Welcome, MBMom!

We're almost neighbors. I spent most of my youth hanging out in my parents place on 8th Ave S in Myrtle Beach! There's lots of playmates for you kids! How did you fare during Charley? My sister who lives in NMB was evacuated. She went to our mom's house in Marion. They spent Saturday in Florence shopping and going to the movies.

I didn't find the board until a couple of months ago, but we have planned a cruise meet on Saturday at 3 pm at the Mickey Pool. The talk about the HD alien green paint chips is for nametags to designate that you're one of our group.

You'll find this is pretty addictive!

:wave2:

NancyDVC: I just made Radisson reservations for Friday night. Let us know if you want to do the pre-cruise meet. We're driving in so we'll be pretty tired. I know the kids will want to swim a little if the weather permits.

I'm one step closer to be ready to go!

MBMom: Check out the last post by amgpmg on page 29. Kathy compiled a list of all those she knew about were on our cruise. You will see that there a quite a few kids in your interested age groups. Do you plan to use the kids clubs?

/
We were very blessed during Charlie. Our yard was covered with debris but no trees on the house (very important).

Yes, we plan to use the kid's club. Mommy and Daddy also need a little vacation. Look forward to meeting you.

Welcome MBMom. I am sailing with my DH, DD4 (almost 5) & DS8. There are several kids within the age groups of your two sailing. Last I heard the ship was almost full. I will add you to the cruise list. We are planning a meet at the Mickey Pool on 9/11 around 3:00 pm. Hope to see you there!

And yes, as 4Sedgs mentioned, this board is addicting!!!

TraSee, I know what your neighbor means. We had a power outage several years ago due to a blown transformer on the next block. I was acroos the street sitting on my neighbor's front lawn when the electric company's repair crew came by. As they surveyed the situation one of the 'geniuses' said that my house was okay because he saw lights. I told him that there was no electricity in that house because it was mine. He said "Lady there are lights on in that house!" I replied that the 'lights' were actually 2 oil lamps and a battery lantern. I had to take him to my house and have him flip the switch to prove that there was no electricity!

4sedgs, What time are you getting in at the Radisson? We hope to be there well before dinner. (Unless I get sidetracked picking up a few last minute things.;))

Omygosh, Three weeks from tonight I will (hopefully) have finished all my packing and be getting some shut eye before getting up at the crack of dawn to fly to Orlando!!!! Yippee!!!

NancyDVC...Wow~I thought the neighbor was totally wrong about the chance of that happening. Guess I was wrong! Lucky you were there to see him come through the neighborhood:magnify:

Scrapperjill...how are things going? Hope Sydney is feeling fine.:flower:

Had a dream about the cruise last night, can you believe it?! Only three more weeks!:jumping1:

Welcome MBMom!

Can't believe how close we are! I did make my piles of cruise stuff neater yesterday but that's about it!:p I was too busy doing other things around the house!
I would normally not be working today but I am :headache:
and I need to be home packing!!!:sunny: I doubt I'll get any work done, too busy reading the boards and dreaming of the cruise!!!:boat:

NancyDVC: We should arrive close to dinnertime. It's quite a drive for us - 12+ hours.

Just checking in to say that we received our documents yesterday. Boy did I screw up. We need to get from OC to Orlando and I let Disney arrange our flight plans.

So we're leaving on an 8 am flight from LAX to Atlanta to Orlando. On the way back, we leave at 12:55 pm and we stop in Dallas, then LAX.

This is my first trip with our 2 yr 10 month twins. We're spending the night in the Hyatt Regency in the airport on Friday.

If I had my way, I would have booked a direct flight from Orange County to Orlando at around 10 am and booked a later time, maybe 3pm on the way back.

So... here's my list of questions:

1. I have to leave the house at 5am to catch this flight. Any chance that I can change this flight? I called Delta and they said no but do you think Disney would do it?

2. Any diversions that I can use for my twins on this flight so that I don't drive the other passengers (or mommy/daddy) mad? This is a loooong flight.

3. I've heard nightmares about lay overs in Dallas/Fort Worth where people have to lierally run the length of the airport to catch their next flight. Is this true?

4. Am I really going to be able to catch a 12:55 pm flight out? I've taken cruises before and know that it's absolute chaos during debarkation.

Thanks!

Tammyh...You will have no problem making your flight home. Disney's debarkation is super smooth! Everything will be ready for you and easy to find as you leave the ship.

I have flown into Dallas before and did have to go quite a distance, but never had any trouble catching my flight. A few things to check out...see if you can find what gate you are flying into and what gate you are flying out of. This can change at any time, but if you have some idea that might help ease your mind. You can also catch one of those golf-cart transports to get you from one gate to another. I see them in a lot of airports, so I would think they are at DFW also. You can try to talk to Disney about changing your flight times, but getting a direct flight is probably not going to happen. BUT...it can never hurt to ask!

Stay calm and think about sipping Margaritas!::yes::

Take care!
Tracy

tammyh-
12:55pm is the perfect flight time for you! It will not be a problem.
I do not show any non-stop flights Orange County to Orlando.
Only non-stop out of LAX but you probably won't have much luck changing at this point because you'd have to be changing airlines and DCL will probably not do it.
Never hurts to ask however, worst thing they'll say is no:mad:

Ok ladies...
I have been working on my packing list. Just wanted to see how FORMAL your FORMAL outfits are going to be?

And, is this correct?
Saturday...casual
Sunday...casual
Monday...formal
Tuesday... casual
Wednesday...Tropical or is it Pirate now?
Thursday...semi-formal
Friday...casual

Thanks for your input!
Tracy :)

trasee-

That scheudle looks correct to me.

For formal night I'm just wearing a simple, black dress.
And for semi-formal, I'm still not 100% sure on that but perhaps a nice light purple, sleeveless dress that I wore to my step-daughters wedding last summer!:teeth:
This weekend when I really get serious that may all change but I'm certian about the black dress!::yes::
whatever you decide on, as long as you are comfortable, it'll be perfect!:D

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited that I can't see straight. I started my packing list and wonder if it is better to take our own snorkal gear (minus the flippers.)

Thanks,

Joannie :earsgirl: Chip :earsboy: Holly princess: princess: Harrison pirate:
