Sept 11 3 day Wonder? Am I the only one?

Found it...this was posted a few days ago....Are you the primary name on the reservation????

The primary name cannot change or it is considered a new ressie. The other names can be changed--if documents have not been issued there is no charge. If documents have been issued there is a $35 new documents fee for each person (this may have been increased--it was $35 a couple years ago).

If you add additional persons not on the original reservation, you add them at the current rate (prices tend to go up as the sailing date nears.)

Thanks for the info! Yes, I'm the primary! :thumbsup2 I also looked, and it says on the DCL site that passenger changes are considered cancellations, so worst case it looks like I would lose 1/2 of what we paid for him (which was around $200). I have no clue how much more I would have to pay for my mom and Emily, though. Is it a certain price usually for 4 year olds? :confused3

Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'm going on the cruise now or not. :( I was talking to my friend that is supposed to cruise with me, and he can't find his birth certificate! :scared1: We're only a couple of weeks away from sailing, he has no passport, and was born in CT which seems to be one of only a handful of states that you can't get some sort of rushed bc from. I really don't want to cruise alone, so unless a miracle happens regarding his bc, I don't think that I'll be joining y'all. :sad1:

Oh no! What a disaster!:sad2:

Changing your traveling companions sounds like a good option (certainly better than not going at all!) There might be another possibility if your friend has an old, expired passport around, because it can be used instead of a BC in getting a new passport. Given the timing, your friend would have to go to a passport agency in person (I think the nearest one to you is in New Orleans; see the passport website at travel.state.gov), but I think you then get the passport almost immediately. It would obviously be a lot of work, but if the alternative is missing a Disney cruise, it could be worth it!

One way or another, I hope something works out; I hate the thought of you not going on the cruise! :sad1:

Thanks for the kind words!! :goodvibes Unfortunately, he doesn't have a passport (he was going to use his birth certificate for the cruise), and I believe that you have to have your bc to get a passport.

I didn't notice a difference in price between my 4 and 8 year old. If she is the 2nd person in the cabin, then she will pay the same as an adult in the cabin. If she is the 3rd person, then she pays that rate (it is less for infants)

Yes he would need his BC to get a passport.

Did you call them yet? Find out your options. Are you driving to the port?

Yes, you need a BC to get a passport for the first time, but if you have ever in your life gotten a passport, you can use that old or expired passport as a form of ID instead of a BC when applying for a new passport. The gov website says:

"You may prove U.S. Citizenship with any one of the following:

-- Previous U.S. Passport (mutilated, altered, or damaged passports are not acceptable as evidence of U.S. citizenship.)
-- Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state"

That's why I was wondering if your friend had an old passport lying around somewhere. But obviously, this doesn't help him if he doesn't! (In fact, you used to be able to use just an expired passport to get on a domestic cruise -- I remember my uncle did this once on a Baja cruise out of Los Angeles -- but those days are gone.)

Anyway, we're obviously all rooting for you to find some way to work this out and get on that boat!!!! :cheer2:

Alright, a little bit of an update has occurred.

I spoke to Jason this morning, and it seems that if he overnights his request to the city that he was born in, they will do the certificate that day. They say that if you want it overnighted back, to enclose a pre-paid overnight envelope. So he did all of this and it cost him $60, but hopefully he will have his BC in a few days!

I also spoke to my TA about how much it would cost to add my dd and mom and take him off of the cruise in case it didn't work out that he could go. He said that Disney said that it would cost $35 to replace Jason with my mom, and then another $230 to add my dd. I was expecting it to be MUCH more than that! Anyway, it's nice to know that I have the option and that it won't cost me an arm and a leg to add them to the cruise should I need to. I really hope it works out that Jason can go, though, because this is supposed to be my much needed "adults only" trip! :woohoo: ;)

Phew! That sounds really promising! :yay:

After all this, you're REALLY going to need the cruise by the time you get there!

I really hope that you get all the "adult time" that you need. Moms and Daughters are great. But you need time for YOU too! I hope it works out for you.

Thanks everyone! I definitely will need this cruise after all of this, so please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed that this BC comes through! :goodvibes

As much as I love traveling with my dd (I've already taken her on 5 WDW trips and one Disney cruise and she just turned 4! LOL), I'm ready for my ME time! :lmao: I don't get much adult time since I'm doing it on my own (her dad isn't really involved), so I'm most certainly looking forward to it! ;)

Hopefully, these will all be representative of what I will be doing in a couple of weeks..............:drinking1 party: :dancer: :drinking1 :boat: :beach: :cloud9: :drinking1 Can you tell that I need a drink right about now? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Just found this myself, My son and I will be heading out on this cruise, Love Disney, and it's the first cruise for him and first DCL for me. He's 3 years old, so figured this would work good for him, sounds like lots going on, been reading up on everything on the cruise on the Wonder, and I am amazed at how much is to be done on the boat, and have a feeling the Oceaneers Club is going to be a place I will have to pry him out of...lol

Here's to a couple more weeks to go!

Welcome Prosplace! My youngest is 4, so she will be in the club with your son. If you help me pry her out, I can help you. ;)

Guys!! I just have to say how excited I am.....we only have two weeks left!!!!

I only have NINE DAYS left. So imagine how excited I am. :cool1: :cool1:

I am in the "Under 10 day" countdown.

Now let's just make sure no tropical depressions ruin it for us. Anyone see any new info on the weather?

I've just heard that Hanna is possibly going to the Bahams, although it's still too early to know for sure. I sure hope she doesn't do much damage if she does go there because I couldn't imagine her hitting CC and us not being able to go to our ports! :scared1: Oh well, I'm sure we would go to some other neat place! I just want to go, I don't care where it's to! LOL

I'm more worried about this huge area off of the coast of Africa. On the National Hurricane Center they're already saying that it's medium potential for cyclone formation, and from my watching that site, that typically doesn't happen until it gets closer to the US. I'm definitely watching this one! Here's the site for anyone interested:

BTW, there are now FIVE out there! Gustav, Hanna, and then 3 others!!

Sorry I have not been on in such a long time. The school year started, and we have been very busy. Hopefully things will be more calm next week.
We will not be participating in the FE. I feel like I can barely keep up at school so I won't have time to shop around. I can't believe it's two weeks away. We are looking forward to time away and a break from the storms.
