Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

Hello fellow cruise mates! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! Ours certainly was!

It's been a little while since I last posted, so I thought I would drop in really quickly. Since I last posted, my DNephew (16) has decided to join us on the cruise, so I'm really excited about that. This will be his first cruise ever, and his first taste of Disney. He really wants to do to WDW sometime soon, and we hope to be able to take him. I'm just really excited that we finally talked him into cruising after he's said no for so long!!

I can't believe that the Dream will be pulling into port tomorrow morning! How awesome is that! It's very cool to finally be able to say that we will be cruising THIS YEAR!

Initially, the DH and I were going to try to book a room using our DVC points for the night before the cruise, but we decided that we'd rather save our points since we'd have to book at least a 2-bedroom. So, it looks like we may be staying at the Country Inn & Suites again, if there's anything left by the time that we actually book! I guess I need to get in gear and get with my S-I-L to finalize the plans!

Other than that, we're patiently waiting for February when we'll finally get to head back to WDW for the Princess 1/2 weekend...I can't wait!!!princess:

I hope everyone has a great week!:)

Welcome to any newbies I may have missed.:welcome: I should be around here more now that the holidays are over and our cruise is fast approaching.

Judy, your rats are adorable! I am surprised that Shannon hasn't said that she wants one. I almost want one! But I know better. Either Shannon missed the pictures or she is too excited about planning her wedding.:bride:

I booked our POFQ pre cruise stay of three nights today. Got a good rate with a PIN# that I didn't even know I had. Someone on the rates and codes board suggested calling and checking to see if you had a PIN that you didn't know about. I was very surprised and happy to find that I had one.:woohoo: I saved more than I would have with the WDW special that was released today. We will not be going to the parks. Just relaxing at the hotel pool and visiting DTD and other park hotels. Looking forward to the Cape May clambake. My cousin and her DH are planning on staying at POFQ too and hanging out with us.:thumbsup2

I think I am starting to get a bit excited!:cheer2:

Hi UGA fan! Nice to see you back here. We must have been typing at the same time. I take forever proofreading and making corrections. Plus, I injured my finger this fall and have a hard time typing with it. I keep making mistakes. It's nice that your nephew is cruising.

Seems like there may be a pre cruise party to plan at Country Inn & Suites with so many of you staying there.party:

I can see that I am going to be spending way too much time on the DIS now that the Dream is arriving.:rolleyes1

I'm debating taking the train to Orlando instead of flying. It's $200.00 more but the more I think of flying, for some reason the more bad anxiety I'm experiencing about it. I'll have to decide soon though. :confused3

I would fly! I am a recovering fearful flyer and have found wonderful free online support at this site: www.takingflight.us/forums

How much time would it take you to go by train?

Have any of you seen this video yet? It was taken yesterday by someone on the Magic while at Castaway Cay and the Dream Sailed by!!

That was GREAT! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I'll check out that site. To be honest I think most of my fear has more to do with the date than anything else. If I do fly, I'll be taking a 6a.m flight out of Syracuse with a connecting flight at JFK and arrive in Orlando just after 11a.m.
If I take the train, I'd have a bedroom room with two beds, I'd leave at 3:15 on the Friday and arrive in Orlando just after 10a.m. on Saturday. My DH is pushing me to fly, yes it would be easier, quicker ect...... We'll see.:)

What a beautiful sight!! I love how the ship name is now illuminated!! I noticed that only some of the stateroom lights were on--I wonder if that was just a random thing or not.
Very cool to see everyone standing out on deck. And I love how the AquaDuck was all lit up! I hope they have it open at night--I bet it would be really fun to ride it then!

Have you guys checked out the Disney Cruise Line website recently? They have posted new pictures on each of the restaurants. They are some really nice photo's of the inside of each restaurant!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Let me be the first to :welcome::welcome::welcome: Daniel & Julie to our cruise thread. Glad you could join us. We all will keep our fingers crossed for you to be able to book this cruise. This is going to be a great cruise and all of us are excited about going on the Dream too!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

I have been a little under the weather this week. (It's probably because I had to go back to work..........don't you think???) I think I'm catching a cold. Got the sniffles, congested, coughing my fool head off, ache all over, can't sleep for the stupid coughing!!! I'm just plain ol' miserable!!! (Told DW...........I need a hug...............she said, "get away from me I don't want to get what you got!!!") But, she is right..........this is no fun for anyone!!! I just remember what my mother told me when I was little, she would rub my head and kiss my forehead and say, "my little man, don't you dare pass this on to your brothers. I don't need any more of you sick in this house" She knew just the right thing to say!!!

Thank you for that wonderful welcome! If we do book this cruise I will definitely post with "bells on" LOL!

I hope you feel better very soon, and thanks again for the welcome:yay:

I have Chef Mickey's on my mind. I've never done Dinner there, and would REALLY love to take my son there for dinner, an early dinner the night before the cruise. Is anyone else by any chance interested in joining us if we do? I realize it's an hour drive from our hotel at the port, but I think it's worth it. :)

I haven't heard of it. Is there a website?

It's a restaurant at the Contemporary Resort in WDW. We did a brunch there in 2009 on a WDW trip, and it was a BLAST!! The Fab 5 Characters come out and visit each table and I really did enjoy the food too! It's at a resort instead of a park which allows us to go without having park tickets.
The flight I'd book, if I book it, has me arriving in Orlando just after 11 am. I'm thinking I'd drive to Cape Canaveral, check in at CI&S, then drive back to Orlando for a 4pm dinner? Then be back at our hotel by 6:30 or 7pm.

Do you think thats too much in a day? I know DS would LOVE it, and it would take care of my dinner plans for me, and what a way to have dinner pre cruise!!! :) I'll have a rental car, and would have room for 3 more (and wouldn't mind having someone else drive it back to Cape Canaveral if its dark as my eyesight for night driving, especially in an unfamiliar place, Sucks!!)

Ok...so apparently I did jump the gun kinda early on posting when my cruise this year was a "Maybe" instead of a definite "Yes"....

...yesterday I was laid off from my job. So my "maybe" has turned into a "no" until further notice. Bummer. It would've been nice to sail with all of you.
:sad1:

So sorry to hear about your jobloss. I wish you all the best and hope that 2011 gets better for you and your family :thumbsup2
