Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

FE INFO

Ok here it is:

For those interested in the FE exchange, heres the quick run down of what is involved. First you will need a Fish Extender (aka FE). Similar to this one:

[/IMG]
This particular one I made for a family on our last cruise. Mine is identical excpet for the names of course. WHERE to get your FE? Make your own (simple instructions can be found on the main board in a sticky), order off of EBAY (Grady's mommy is fabulous at these), and lastly, I'm willing to make one or two for anyone on this cruise, in exchange for a drink on board :thumbsup2

Gifts: You gift however you want to. (one gift per cabin, or per person, or only to kids or only to adults) I personally like to gift one shared gift per couple, and then one gift to each child or single person. You can make something, or buy things (oriental trading is a great place). There are threads here somewhere with photos of homemade FE gifts.
Here's samples of what I gave on our last cruises as well as received:

How/When to gift: Once on board you decide when you want to deliver your gifts. I tend to pick one evening and deliver all my gifts. However on our last cruise, I was delivering on the first evening on board, but couldn't finish as I got VERY sea sick (meds were in checked luggage which got lost, and weren't delivered till bedtime). It is SO fun coming back to your cabin and finding little gifts in the pockets of your FE. I think I was as thrilled with finding surprises, as the kids were!

So if you would like to participate, post here or pm me to let me know, and I'll add you to the main list of participants. Info I will need:

Dis name
First names of Adults and a notation for couples or singels
First name of children and ages
Stateroom number if known

For those of us in GTY, we may not find out our staterooms till a few months to a few weeks before sailing.
We should arrange a DIS meet for boarding day, and this is also a great way to notify of any stateroom changes.

So on the list so far:

tjbaggott : Judy & DS8 Tim, stateroom GTY
milpreston
DisneyDee27
Maybe Shannon1984

milpreston, if you'd like to help me keep track of who joins the group, I'd love that!

I wish we were doing the B2B with everyone. How fun! Since we are coming from California we decided to fly down 2 nights before. It will take one day just to get there. Saturday before the cruise we are going to spend the day at The Kennedy Space Center. Hubby and the kiddos will love that.

Here is my info. for the FE. I so wish we were leaving tomorrow. I am so ready to go. :goodvibes Thanks Judy for putting this together.

mlipreston: Eric and Michelle (c), DS12 - Xavier, DS8 - Elijah. room 6514

MERRY CHRISTMAS
to all of my fellow cruisers out there. I hope ya'll were good little boys and girls, and I hope Santa:santa: brought you what you wanted for Christmas!!!
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We surprised our DS11 with a B2B cruise. He was really excited... once he figured out all the clues. I asked him what he was looking forward to the most, and he said riding Aquaduck a million times:scared1: Oh to have so much energy and enthusiasm.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got lots of pixiedust:

We would love to participate in the Fish Extender Exchange!

I'll PM you our info but we will have myself, DH, DS4 and DD13 with us in the room.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Just wanted to pop in to say hi to everyone. DW and I are off of work this week. We are taking some much needed R&R this week. But DW is still running around here like crazy!!! She can't seem to relax. Guess I need to spice the eggnog a little more huh???:lmao: Ya'll have a great day today. Talk to you again real soon.:cool1:

I hope everyone had a VERY Merry Christmas, and a Great Boxing day!
Christmas was the FIRST day I've not been on the computer AT ALL! (other than when gone on vacation). And boxing day, I spent for the first time ever SHOPPING! Now I know why I've NEVER shopped on boxing day before! Got some great deals, but it was such a zoo, it took the whole day!!!

My mom, her BF and the boys were thirlled with the gift of a Crusie on the Fantasy in 2012, and today I told DS13 about the MOMMY AND ME Cruise I'll be taking his little brother on in Sept. (I needed to wait till he knew about the 2012 Cruise). I explained the reasons about school, and that for his birthday this summer, he will have a "Daddy And Me" trip to Canada's Wonderland for his Birthday, and he was then TOTALLY fine with me taking his little Bro on this Dream Cruise! So all those worries have been dealt with!

Here's some pics from our Big day, with their favourite gifts:

Oh my gosh Judy your boys with the matching sweaters on look so nice. I had to show my 11 yr old son because for the last year he has not wanted to wear shirts that match his brother. Every Christmas I would buy them matching shirts to wear. This Christmas I did buy matching pjs but not shirts. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

LOL, I guess I'm lucky at this point that DS13 will still wear matching outfits. I don't too it too often, basically just Christmas, or bathing suits in the summer. In the photo above, they had matching jeans on too, and then my mom got them matching fleece outfits, which they like as they call them their "Comfy clothes".

I'm organizing a special dinner for the Day after New Years Day. We'll have my family here, including my mother, her BF, my brother and his family, and the special guest of honour, my nephew! He's 18 and I only met him for the first time yesterday! He flew into town from P.E.I. His dad is my oldest brother whom I haven't seen or talked to since I was 11 or 12 years old! Funny how when I had names of his kids (all found through face book), my own 18 year old befriend him and they have been texting each other over the past year! And funny how I meet and speak to him before my brother!!! Long story, but my lost family is slowly being put back together!

The boys are REALLY excited now about the Fantasy cruise in 2012 so I KNOW DS7 will LOVE the Gift of this Dream cruise for his summer birthday!

Is everyone enjoying the holidays? I think DH has to go back to work tomorrow, thurs and Friday, but then is off again till next Tuesday. I myself am OFF till next Tuesday. On the agenda today, Taking my boys to see the morning matinee of the New Chronicles of Narnia Movie!:)

Judy those are some very nice photos of your family.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Looks like your surprise with the Disney Fantasy Cruise went well!!:cool1: Looks like you got a new family pet too!!! Santa was very good to you all.
DW and I went over to our son and daughter-in-law's house for Christmas this year. It was very nice to let DS and DDIL do all of the work for a change. Last year, as with all of the previous years, we had the whole clan here at our home. Our daughter Kelly and her family did not make it for Christmas, they had made other plans. We are getting together with her and her family for New Year's.:cool1:
Santa brought us a Wii and we have been busy playing the games on the Wii. Santa also brought us Epic Mickey for the Wii. This is a great game for the family to play. It ain't all that easy to figure out. We already have had to go online for some hints to navigate around. Another game we got was Disney's Guilty Party. It is some what like the game Clue, but in my opinion much better.
Well, DW tells me it is time for me to do my turn on the ol' torture machine. I tell you, I am going to be so buff by the time of this cruise, I'll look like one of those beach body builders!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao: (I knew I couldn't say that with a straight face!!!)
Everyone have a great day!!!:woohoo:

Hey CONGRATS Gramma!!! Or will you be known as Nana? Leaving the baby, hmmmmm, is there any chance they could bring the baby? I know I couldn't have left mine, but then again, I was nursing, so it wouldn't have even been an option. Anyway, what wonderful news for this spring! :cheer2:

Love the matching sweaters! We had our 3 youngest wear matching shirts every day of our WDW trip last month and only 1 day did I hear some complaints. I know it won't last long but I love the photos of them at the parks in their matching stuff. They are also easier to spot in a crowd that way!

Glad everyone had a great Christmas!

Did everyone get what the wanted from Santa this year? I did, and then some. (I must have been such a good ol, man this year. But what about that time I......................well nugh said about that................don't want Santa coming back and start taking things away!!!):scared1::eek::scared1::lmao:
We have been having some very cold temps down here guys!!! We woke up to 29 degrees this morning. No snow, just cold!!! But today it is to get up to 63 and then by the week-end up to near 80!!!:cool1::woohoo::dance3:
Congratulations aafdmom on being a grandmom this coming spring. That is good news. Way back when, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, (well you get the picture), moons ago. DW and I went to WDW for a vacation just after our daughter Kelly was born. She was only about 3 or 6 months old. Well, we left her with my mother while we vacationed. Now my mom and Kelly were fine, no problems what so ever. Mom had a great time taking care of Kelly. Mom had 4 boys to raise, so she had a wonderful time taking care of a little girl. But DW could not really have that great of a time for thinking about our baby girl. In hindsite we should have brought Kelly along with us. It would have given us more peace of mind to of had her with us on vacation.
Well, DW and I were wanting to go over to Port Canaveral to see the Dream sail in to port here in Florida for the first time, but it is not to be. We both have to work and can't get off for the day. So we will be watching the webcams too.:sad2::sad2::sad2:
Time for me to do my excerising. Everyone have a great day today!:woohoo:

You are too funny! :goodvibes The weather here in California is rainy and cold today. I don't do good with the rain and cold. We are in California, the sun is suppose to be shining all the time. :rotfl:

It sounds kinda yucky in FL. Not too bad here. I think we are hovering around the freezing point or just above. A light jacket is all that is needed out today, so must be above. Overcast though, and a little rainy (so DUH, ya, it MUST be above :rotfl2: )
Got a new cage today for the rats, a HUGE cage. The full grown one is in it now, and seems to really like the space, but the baby one, well, she can fit through the bars, so I guess we'll have to wait till she grows some more before putting her into it. The dog is at the grooming store, trying him here this time, at Pet Smart. I explained to them the issue that happened the last time he was groomed at our private groomers (he bit her arm). He freaks out when his feet are being done and nails clipped. So the people at Pet smart said they'd give him a try and only do as much as they could. He seemed to be ok when we left. They were shaving his back and head at that point, saving his feet for last. Going to leave shortly to pick him up. We haven't been called yet, so that must be a good sign (we dropped him off 2 hours ago).

Oh, DH got me my OWN tool set for Christmas!!!! I had ASKED for it and he got if for me. IT'S PINK!!!! My own drill, hammer, measuring tape, screw drivers, and whatever the heck other doohickey's are in there. First thing I'm going to do with that is properly hang up the drapes in my daughters room! DH did them previously, and the bracket has now detached from the wall and the whole thing fell down last night. It needs those plastic plugs in the wall first then the screw into that (I'm so smart, :rotfl: ) So gonna fix that, then hang up the rest of the photos in frames I have around, but could never find a hammer to nail the hooks into the wall. And it's PINK!!!! did I mention that? So NO Guy in this house will use MY set and loose pieces to it right? Cause no guy will use PINK tools, right? :thumbsup2

Well, gotta go pick up our Stewie, and see how good or NOT he behaved this time. :worship:

Well, Judy you would never catch me using pink tools. (The key phrase here is - You would never catch me..............I would use them......but you would never see me use them!!!) I would wear a mask or something. Gots to get up pretty early in the morning to fool this ol' man!!!:thumbsup2

Well, actually the weather here in Florida has turned to the nice side now. High today 72 and by the week-end 78. Can't complain about that!!!!

Have ya'll been watching the videos on the Disney Cruise Line website??? They have been showing some nice ones! And, Rachal has been doing a fantastic job hosting them. Check them out everyone!!

Well, got to go and run an arrand. Talk to you all again soon.:woohoo:

My lovely fiancée and I will be celebrating our first full day as an old married couple on the Disney Dream with all of you! Not sure what sort of group activities we'll want to take part in (haven't read the entire thread yet), but I look forward to meeting many of you.

One thing I decided to do, since this is a very special trip for us, is bring some University of Washington "W" pins with us. We'll give them to any cast member or guest that makes our trip more special. Rachel and I met at the UW, so it'll have special meaning for us. Nothing elaborate, just a nice little "Thank You." Haven't decided if we want to do door magnets or fish extenders or any of those things. We may be too busy leading up to the trip to bother. I am trying to come up with ways to surprise her, however.

This will be Rachel's first cruise, and her first trip to WDW. (She went to Disneyland when she was younger, and had a bad experience that kind of ruined it.) She's been watching the Questar/Travel Channel promotional videos pretty much non-stop since we decided to go. I think she's more excited than I am!

This will be my second cruise (first on Disney), and my third trip to WDW. My first trip was actually a honeymoon as well, and oddly enough, my second was part of the reason why that marriage ended (long story). Looking forward to supplanting some of those memories with new, wonderful ones.

Anyway, enough of my life story. Carry on. ;)

Now that Christmas is over, I'm really starting to get excited about the cruise. I have a friend who is sailing on the Dream in January. I am soooo jealous. He promised to take lots of pictures...I can't wait to hear all about his trip!

Let me the first to :welcome::welcome::welcome: you and your fiancee' aboard our cruise thread!!! You will have fun with all of us counting down our days until our cruise!!! I'll see if I can't get a UF, (University of Florida), pin to trade with you. We just might have started something here SuperRob!!!

Well DW and I woke up to 59 degrees this morning with a high of 76 to 78 today!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: (I guess that means no snow again today!!):lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Well, I have to go. We are having a family gathering today, and DW is bellowing..........I mean hollowering...........no, no, no, no, no, I mean sweetly asking for my help in straightening up the ol' homestead. Ya'll have a great day and :bday: no, no, no, no, no, I mean
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!!!
