We're Back!! A VERY long drive. The OPP (thats our provincial police that police our roadways), were out in Full Force today. We never saw a single one on that Northern Highway on the way up to Thunder Bay, but I guess with today being the last day of the long weekend, and lots of travellers heading home, they were out there. Saw lots of motorists getting pulled over, and thankfully we were never one of them. Here you can generally go up to 9 clicks over the limit, with no repercussions, and sometimes a teeny bit more. There were plenty of cars passing us, on a two lane highway, and we were doing on average 102 in a 90 zone (in fact that whole frigin highways maximum speed was 90 all the way home). We are in Kilometers so 90 would be about 55 mph, thus our 102 would be 63 or 64 mph. And even that seemed SO slow on the open road. But we home, safe and sound, rental car returned with just minutes to spare. DH lost DS13 in the airport! The car had to be returned at the airport today as everything else is closed due to the holiday, and if I didn't want to pay for another day, the airport it was. I pulled the rental car in while DH followed somewhere behind in our own car. I parked and had to wait for him, as we hadn't yet unpacked the rental car. DH dropped DS off on the opposite side of the rental counters and told him to wait for me at the rental desk. Well, I didn't go into the rental desk because I didn't want to leave the laptop and camera ect.... in the unlocked rental car (rental guy took the key once I'd parked). DH finally pulls our car up, and I go in to pay and then locate DS. We coudn't find him, he seemed to have just disappeared! I went back to the car while DH went on the hunt. The airport is a HUGE place! Finally found DS as he came walking in from the far end of the parking garage. He didn't see me in the rental place, so decided to take a walk and try to find me! Talk about Panic!
Anyway, other than that, all went well dropping older DS off at College, well for HIM! Boy was he spoiled this weekend! Shopping for this and that, then a new cell phone with KOODO because the one he had Through BELL won't work up there. Bell has no service there at all, and DS still has a year and a bit left of his 3 year contract. I've already called bell, but then won't let him out of the contract. (Of course), so now there are two phones to pay for, and one can't even be used there! We lowered the plan to the lowest price, so it won't break the bank. Then because we coudn't take his tv (no room in the car), and he really wanted to be able to play the xbox he took with him, we went on the hunt for a doohickie to turn his PC monitor into a screen for his xbox. But then I decided, since he had free cable in his dorm, and little space left to even put a tv if he got one, we ended up getting him a 24 inch TV with hookup for a vga? cable to use it also as a PC monitor. So he's all set, happy as a clam!

I was ok saying my final goodbye to him, a few tears welled up, but stayed put. It wasn't till we were a few hours out on our way back home, that I realized we had forgotten to buy him the toothpaste he needed, and that was the trigger to the endless tears! Big care package is going to be made this week
