Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

Hello to the new cruises, :wave2:

My first day off in over a month, with the real job and the toy drive,
So I'm trying to rest and read the post here on the DIS boards, the only things is I have so many new ?? now.

David, I had read about the 2 officers in Tampa, I check the officer down web site it's sad how many are lost every year, we have 3 in the Phoenix area so far this year, so we will be busy next May in DC.

tjbaggott, I'm book in a inside room (for now) so if you want to check out the port hole your more then welcome to,

I see posts about getting a dinner table for 2, do you think I could get a table for 1 :rotfl: I would like to try Remy also, wonder if they will take a res. for 1??
I have seen a few picks of Enchanted Garden, one shows the booth's outward facing the the walk way, and one shows them facing inward away from the walk way, would you call them the tea cup ride tables ?

Ok more ? later, off to double check my flights to Las Vegas next month,

Big John

Well, how is everybody this fine Monday evening!! Fine I hope.

Have ya'll been reading of the rumors of Disney possibility sailing to hawaii in 2012? Hawaii and DCL - there couldn't be a better combimation.:cool1::cool1: DW and I have never been to Hawaii and we want to go - and to have Disney Cruise Line take us.................well I just can't think of anything better. If this rumor pans out to be true, DW and I will be signing up for that one. Both DW's mother and my mother both said that they had wished they would have been able to go to Hawaii for a visit. So we must go for them. Would any of you guys consider going to Hawaii on DCL in 2012? Is that too far out to plan? Just wondering.

Did ya;ll see the link I posted earlier about the Dreams first sail out in October? It won't be long now everyone.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Well got to go and do some excersing. Don't want to............but I guess i must. Everyone have a great evening.:yay:

Hawaii in 2012!! I had heard that. What port do you suppose it would be sailing out of of? I don't know if we'd ever make it, but hopefully, someday!! I would imagine the 2012 booking dates will open in the fall of 2011, so while on board in September, we could make a dummy booking for 2012 right? And then when the Fantasy bookings or whatever ship is going to Hawaii, opens up, then have our ressie moved, correct????? That means I'll need some extra dough on our cruise for a downpayment. Plan ahead and maybe we can make it happen. :) I've been working late into the nights lately on my FE gifts for my Magic Cruise, and discovered "SOMEBODY HAS BEEN EATING MY CHOCOLATE"!!!! This individual named "somebody" has been a nuisance for years!! Somebody is sneaky, lives here but I've never seen him/her, and has a bad habit of making a mess or having things disappear! Of course it's not my own kids, I ASKED them!! :rotfl:

Now I need to go out and get 53 boxes of Smarties and 7 more photo frames, and I'm DONE!! I've never participated in an FE this big before. I'm having trouble figuring out what to pack them into for the trip. Currently I'm using Beer cases, but then I thought the DCL CM's might get the wrong impression (after all we are only two adults and 4 24 packs might seem a bit much :rotfl:) A suitcase? I'd need a large one, but that might work. It'll need to be big enough to hold 88 loot bags.

In other news, my DS7 has for some unknown reason developed a fear of boats. (Yes, Ships are included in that term). He has no idea about our upcoming cruise, much less the Dream one. Yet he keeps telling me he's never going on a boat again Ever Ever! He's says he's afraid it will sink, and then he says he'll stay with Nana if I wont' let him stay home alone! LOL. I can envision carrying him onto the Magic, KICKING AND SCREAMING. Wouldn't that make a lovely video? :rotfl2:

Judy, I read that Disney would be sailing out of Honolulu. Man o' man would that ever be great!!!:woohoo: Time will tell if the rumors are true or not. We still have to wait.............and wait....................and wait!!!:sad2: It's like you said we could book one while on board the Dream next year!!!

That was funny:lmao::lmao::lmao:............. about someone eating all of your chocolate. That happened to DW and I on our first cruise. We were putting together our FE gifts and found we were short on some special candy I had bought to put in our gift packs. That someone in our household never did fess up. Luckly we had time for me to buy more. You and your family are going to have such a great time. I wish we were going too. I guess I'll just have to wait for our Dream in in just a little over a year from now. It will come up pretty fast.

Well, everyone, have a great evening. i'll talk to you later!!!:dance3:

Just stopping by to say hi. It's been awhile since I posted. So I hope your all doing good. Can't believe we are getting close to the one year mark :cool1:

I just had a new eye exam. I am trying out contacts as I would really like to do a vacation without wearing glasses all the time. But OMG they get so dry on me. I have very dry eyes already and so they put me in one of the best for that but it's not going so good. So I hope to get use to them but if not at least I'll get a few hours with out glasses before they get too bad? :confused3 Good thing I work for the Eye Dr :thumbsup2

Getting to move Oct 1. I hate moving! I hate packing! I hate the extra cost of things and yet I can't stand to live in our 3 story home anymore. Nothing like bringing your groceries home and going to the second floor to put them in the fridge. :sad2: So we look forward to having a single story home and a very nice back yard. :yay:

Whom ever asked about the passports. I guess I don't really need it but I do have one. I just can't find it? I had it in Dec when we went to WDW and I know I came home with it as I remember putting it in my drawer. Don't know why it's not there now?:confused3 That's not a good feeling knowing it's missing and yet I think when we move we will find it, at least I hope so. lol

also what the heck is going on with the tickers. I see many are missing. I will have to go look to do another one

@pixidustmom, I'm a fairly new contacts wearer, too, and I'm learning all kinds of things about my new eyes (and no, I'm not telling you my age, but I've worn glasses for 20 years!). For example, I can't drive our convertible at night with contacts because there is too much wind. And I can't wear them during the night races at Bristol Motor Speedway (attended last weekend, season ticket holder) because there is so much wind in the stadium during the race. Also, not a great idea to take a long nap in them. Had to pretty much peel them off my corneas. :cool2: Guess I should have used some solution in my eyes first! haha

I called InsureMyTrip.com today about trip insurance and spoke with a really helpful agent. Making a trip insurance decision soon. Need to call them back and ask if the quote goes up if we don't buy insurance until next year. In my mind, it's a waste of money to pay for trip insurance before the date we can get 100% of our deposit back. Am I missing something?? Any trip insurance veterans that can give me their perspective?

PS - my tickers are missing, too :(

There was an issue a few months back with a couple sources of tickers. Something to do with viruses I think it was. So many tickers were disabled by the powers that be here at the boards in order to ensure safety. Basically if you had a ticker from a source that was deemed to be an issue, your ticker disappeared. But there were and are other sources that remained safe.

On the contacts topic, I too tried contacts a number of years ago. They were fine when in, but taking them out was my issue. I could always get it out of one eye no problem, but the other eye, it kept hurting when I tried to take it, and it would take several tries before I finally accomplished the task. Then one day, I happened to look up close in the mirror when I was taking it out and at the exact point it became painful, I noticed I was not only pulling up the contact but also that clear layer of skin that lies over the eye! EEEWWWWW, My stomach did this horrendous flip and I've never touched the darn things since!

I wish I could wear them, especially now that I have to wear glasses ALL the time and am not allowed driving without them. :sad1:

Good luck moving. We did that this summer thanks to the Army and will do it again in 2 years. Sigh...

Looking forward to our cruise!

I hope all are having a great week-end. I'm not!!!

Well let me clarify that last statement. Last week-end I'm outside finishing up my yard work. I'm blowing the grass clippings off our driveway, and out from under our truck. I'm bent over to get the clippings out from under the truck and when I raised up, out of the corner of my eye, I see the door mirror on the truck. I move just in time to only take about a 2" scrape off my forehead. It didn't bleed too much but was sore as all get out!!! And of course everyone at work had to ask if my DW hit me in the head!!:laughing::rotfl2: I know it sounds very funny, but my head hurt!!!:sad2: No sympathy for ol' David!!!
So now fast forward to this week-end. I'm trimming the hedges along our birdcaged pool. I see something fly right at my left eye. I move as fast as my little feet will take me:dancer:................but too late. It was some kind of a bee, and it stung me just below my left eye!!! Now my left eye is all swollen up.............at one point almost swollen closed!!!! I tell you I'm an accident just waiting to happen!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: Now I have to hear all over again at work tomorrow how DW beats the stuffing out of me every week-end!!!
Contacts............I've never tried them guys............I never thought I would be able to stand something against my eye. (I'm just a big baby, I know.)
Good luck pixiedustmom, on your move. You'll find all kinds of things you forgot you even had packing up for your move. Like you, DW and I hate moving. But I think before DW retires we will more then likely down size from the home we are in now to a little smaller one. (Can't be too much smaller......................I need places to hide from DW when she is looking for me to do some kind of work!!!!) Am I right guys..........am I right!!!:lmao::lmao:
Well everyone, have a nice Sunday. I'll talk to you later.

OH DAVID!! My Sympathies to you! My goodness, those sound like very very unpleasant accidents. Maybe you should think of hiring a local neighbour teen to do your outdoor work for you. You know in your old age, you really have to be careful! :rotfl2:

I think you and my DH will get along just fine! (the roof thing and all) But then again, your accidents seem to have been truly accidents except maybe the first one, and DH's accidents seem to be pure stupidity (can I say that here? Oh, he might not like that though), Oh maybe I'll edit it later :rotfl:

I've been working on my Mountain of laundry this weekend, and shopping for the rest of the back to school stuff, and I've been in a great mood. Yes charging up that credit card gives me a Feels good now, and I' know I'll pay for it later feeling, but even that can't dampen my good mood! :) I'm halfway through all that laundry.

The only thing that has put a cloud over our great weekend, is DS13. For 2 weeks he has been having issues with his eyes. It started with him waking up one morning with a very red right eye. I sent him to the pharmacy for some polysporin eye drops. If I'd gone to a doctor right then, thats exactly what we'd have been told to do anyway. So for a week and a half, we tried that. At first it seemed to help, but still he's awake like this on a daily basis, and it would come and go throughout the day. So off to the doctore we went. She prescribed some Prescription drops for infection. After one day of trying that, he awoke with them MORE Red, and this time both eyes, and the skin all under his eye, all puffy. That wouldn't have happened if it were really an infection, not after getting the good drops. So that got me to thinking something else. ALLERGIES!! Our worry is, what he's allergic to. Our dog, usually sleeps in his room in his kennel cage. But that day Daniel awoke with the REALLY red eyes, and sore, I recalled that Stewie was in Daniel's Bed when I awoke him that morning. I remember reprimanding him, that the dog is supposed to be in the kennel, not the bed.
Anyway, yesterday I purchased some Benadryl and have given DS that stuff every 4 hours, and guess what? No more red eyes. So obviously it's allergies, but is it to Dust or the Dog? We have a none shedding dog, but I know it could be the Dander. I'm hoping it's just Dust, and having Stewie get a bath and a haircut, and keep up with that regularly will keep Daniel free of symptoms, because I refuse to keep him on medication for this forever, which means if it's actually the dog, I think the dog will have to go, thus the Cloud over my otherwise good mood.
So tomorrow, I'll call our Doctor, and have her arrange for allergy tests to find out exactly what he's allergic to. Funny how allergies can appear after years of being Allergy free! :)

I tried having a neighbor teen do the yard. But it just didn't work out. I know what you are trying to say there Judy...................me in my advanced stages of old age, needs to be more careful. :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Me and your DH would probably get along real well. By the way how is he? He didn't break anything did he? As a kid, I had my share of broken bones. Don't get me started about stupid............I broke my right ankle once when I was 9 yrs old. When I was 14 I took a go-cart out on the road and got hit by a car. Broke both bones in my lower left leg. Was in a cast from my hip down to my toes from May until September of that year. I was one stupid kid. I look back now as an adult, and if I had a child like I was I would strap him to a chair and never let him go outside!!!:lmao:

Well, judy I'll bet you and your family are getting excited. you are only 2 months away from your Magic cruise. I can'r speak for the others, but DW and i are jealous. Sure wish we were going!!! Be sure to mtake plenty of picturesto share with us land lubbers.

I would love to see this David, but the link won't work for me. Can you try it and let me know if maybe is just my computer that won't work right?

http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/73ecb92c#/73ecb92c/1

Sorry Judy, and anyone else who may have tried to use the previous link. I tried it also and guess what................I couldn't get through either.:confused3 Well here it is again gang.............let's try this one!!!

Guys............guys................guys...............it worked!!!:banana::banana:
I still got it..............uh huh................I still got it.............oh yeah!!!!
(There for a moment I thought I was back to my ol' ways of being a complete computer dummy!):scared1::scared1::scared1:

Last night at home I checked out that link I posted. It talks more about the port upgrades and a new gang plank being made specially for all of Disney Cruise Line ships. It is interesting, something to check out.

Well, it's time for me to start my day job now, Hope all has a nice day today. Talk to ya;ll later!!!

13 Hours and counting, till we leave to take DS17 off to College. I keep thinking, "Driving that long, we could be to WDW in just a few hours more".....If we were going in the OTHER direction!! LOL. Don't know why I'm Not excited about this trip. Me feelings are that I can't WAIT to be BACK home again. Perhaps it's because I'll be leaving a child behind, and who really could get excited about that? I'll miss him, but there will also be some positives about him not being here: we will not need to replace our milk bags on a daily basis, there will always be a good supply of eggs and cheese in the house, I'll have one less to nag about cleaning a room, less laundry for me to do, our car won't need gas as often.........oh there is probably more. But too, perhaps I'll miss ALL that stuff! For if there was all that stuff, that means that child is here in my house!
Picking up the rental car in 5 more hours, and everything is waiting in my living room to be packed into it. All I have to do is pack a weekend bag for myself and DS7. Leaving at 3am, but now I'm thinking, why not just leave at midnight, or 1 or 2 am? We'll see!

UPDATE: WE'RE HEEEERRRRRE! And it was Bloody freezing upon our arrival! Warmer today though, not by much, but by any amount is an improvement!
Moving our boy into his Dorm room shortly. Saw a Grey Wolfe on our way up. It ran out into the road in front of us. We were able to miss hitting him, but WOW, I'd NEVER seen a wild wolfe before!! Lots of signs to beware of Moose at night, but never saw a real moose. Saw a tree that fell across the highway, our lane. Didn't see it fall, No other traffic around other than a pickup truck that had stopped to call I don't know where, to notify officials to move it, and I assume he was staying there till that happended. It was his red taillights that alerted me to a problem up ahead, so hopefully he did stay for other travellers. Would have taken a picture, but I was doing the driving that time.
We did end up leaving at 1 am and arrived here at 5 pm. Not bad! That was supposed to be a 19 to 20 hour drive, and we cut it down to 16 by leaving early and driving just a teeny bit over the speed limit, and taking a recommended highway, that had NO traffic on the way up. Home might be different, as Monday is the end of the long weekend, and everybody and their Gramma will be heading back home on Monday! Hope the rest of you are having a fabulous weekend!

I hope everyone is having a Happy AND Safe labor Day week-end!!!:woohoo:
Got all my yard work done yesterday...............today I clean the pool. (Cleaning the pool is not all that bad...........I get to play in the water most of the time!!!:yay::cheer2::woohoo::dance3:
Judy, hope you and your family make it back safe and sound Monday. Taking a loved off to college and leaving them has got to be a little unsettling. I know it sounds like it has plenty of plus sides to it, but it is your son. (Got to admit, when our son moved out on his own after high school.............no college for mister smarty pants, but that is a different story I'll have to tell you about sometime................DW and I did our little HAPPY DANCE!!!!:dance3:) Be sure to stay under the ol' radar and don't drive too much over the speed limit. Not sure about up there in your area, but down here in the States, the troopers are out looking for speeders on holidays and especially on holiday week-ends.
Been looking for some new info on the building of the Dream. Haven't come across anything new for awhile. But, I'll keep looking to keep ya'll informed.
Well, time for me to use the ol' torture machine before cleaning the pool. Everyone have a safe holiday.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
