Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

Sorry for the delay in getting back and Thank You for the info, just as I was loging in last week when my cell went off, knew it was going to be bad, as it was the from the Police Toy Drive & Memorials, we had 3 Chandler Police officers shot, and one didn't make it, so we "PTD&M staff" went to work working with the city, helping out, (our toy drive warehouse is in Chandler, and I had many Chandler officers stop by and stay with me on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as I stay and sleep there to keep it open for the Police & Firefighters who are in need of toys for kids who won't get anything), this is the 3rd time this year so far, we had to help out with a fallen officers, we also have started to raised funds to add his name to the memorial we already bulit for past fallen officers at the Chandler PD HQ. I was in Washington DC for Police Week this past May to help with the Arizona officer there for a falled DPS officer, and I already been ask to go next year. I hope they don't block this, here is the web site www.PoliceToyDrive.com

OK back to the cruise,
Thanks for the in about the CIS, I know it's way early, but if I can get a cheep room, car, and airfare, they I will up grade my room on the ship, so I'm looking now for the best deals, I have miles for a free ticket, and as soon as the dates open up I will see if I can get a free ticket. I see they just open up the WDW rooms for next year and will work on that for after the cruise.

HCRCrazy so sorry to hear you lost one of your officers.:sad2: We all lose when one of our finest is lost. We lost two of our finest down here in Tampa a couple of weeks ago. It was suppose to be a routine traffic stop. The passenger in the car was a wanted man for 3 murders and when the officers pulled the car over for a minor traffic violation he came out of the car and shot both officers who later passed at the hospital. The guy who shot the officers was caught a couple of days later.

Sorry I haven't been on here lately. Work has been hectic the past couple of weeks. And, we have been getting a fair amount of rain down here this summer. That keeps the ol' shrubs and grass growing like crazy. I can hardly keep up with it. But, on the plus side I am semi-retiring this coming January. Really looking forward th that!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:yay::yay::banana::banana::banana: Maybe I will be able to get some of the other things done around here I just keep putting off.

Judy, I see you are planning to surprise the kids with this cruise. I don't know if you have come up with any hints. I'll try my best to think of something you can say. (You may have already made your decisions. Your post was several days ago. Sorry I didn't see it earlier.)

As far as staying in a room before the cruise. We like to stay at WDW in the Caribbean Beach Resort the night before our cruise. It gets us in the vacation mode a little earlier. I know this may not be an option for some who are flying down from up north, and want to be closer to the port. And, I'm not sure of the cost to take the DCL buses over to the port the next day. We always drive over that morning and leave our car at the port.

Well, I guess its time for me to go do my thing on the ol' lawn. Everyone have a great day. Talk to ya'll again real soon.

Hey Everyone! Me and my fiance have just booked our cruise for our honeymoon! Am really looking forward to it but a bit nervous as this will be my first ever cruise!
Being from the UK we could never afford a cruise like this but we recently purchased a DVC and thought it was the perfect time to get our sea legs.

Anyways look forward to joining you all!

Let me be the first to say.........:welcome::welcome::welcome:to you and your fiance to our group. We are a fun bunch here and you will have a GREAT TIME chatting to pass the time until our DREAM Cruise!!! All of us are excited about sailing on the new Disney ship the Dream. And Callumlukey don't be nervous about cruising. I was the same way as you a few years ago. My wife and I decided we would take our granddaughter on a Disney cruise. Well, to make a long story short................I LOVE CRUISING!!!!! I now wish we had started cruising alot sooner. You will have a great time..........relax and enjoy your Dream Cruise!!!:cool1::thumbsup2:woohoo:

Thank you very much! :thumbsup2

Am looking forward to cruising with you all and thanks for making us feel welcome.

Welcome Callumlukey! Great to have you on board, and what a way to celebrate a Honeymoon! What is your and your fiance's name's? I'd love to make you one of my magnet disigns to celebrate your special occasion.!

This board seems to be moving slowly this month! I know I for one have been really busy. We had a family reunion this past weekend to celebrate my mother's Cousin's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The last time I'd seen these people was about 16 or 17 years ago, and others I haven't seen in 27 years!!
It was pretty awesome!

Now we are down to the nitty gritty of planning for our DS17 to head off to College 19 hours away and DD to finish registering for College, and a recent decision to have her move out of the house and live in residence of the local College she will be attending.

We have the travel plans, car rental and hotel booked for our trip to Thunder Bay with DS as we escort him and all his STUFF to his school. Now that it's all coming together, the stress of the whole idea is dissipating. A new phase of life for all of us! Now if we can get DD into the Residence, I think she'll be better off for it, and we will have a peaceful home again (with none of that teenage Drama) ;)

David, because I"ve been visiting with relatives who came down for that reunion, and planning the college stuff, I have not yet had time to figure out the clue cards for our Secret cruise. If you do have any ideas, I'd love to hear them! :)

We got our first welcome mailing from DCL today :banana:
DH seems to be excited, which is nice. He's a Disney nerd, too, he just hides it better than I do.

Thank you tjbaggott! Thats very kind of you! My fiance's name is Amanda, You really dont have to as thats very generous! Its great to see there are still kind people in the world! :thumbsup2 :)

Welcome!!! How exciting that you and your fiance will be celebrating your honeymoon! I'm glad that you'll be getting your sea legs with us. I know you'll love cruising!! Congrats on purchasing DVC!

Sorry for the disappearing act, everyone! We really ARE going to be on this cruise. We just moved from SC to VA so that is why i haven't been around. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. We have been discussing the flying vs. driving situation and are not sure yet. Now that we live in VA I am NOT looking forward to making the drive down. Talk to you guys soon!

Awwww, VA is not that far to port Canaveral. Only 13 hours give or take depending on where in Virginia. One day thats all. But then again a few hours on a plane, you can relax right away.

We are driving to NJ this fall prior to our 2010 cruise, then the next day to a friends in VA. The next day we are making a drive right to Orlando. I think it'll be fun. BUT for our trip in 2011 I DO hope to fly. Two years of driving to FL might be enough, we'll see. :)

We have gotten a couple welcome mailings also over the past few weeks. And, last week DCL sent us the latest DCL DVD. I was hoping there was more about the Dream on it.................but hey it is still being built...........what did I expect, huh???

Welcome back Retroloco!!!!:cool1: Glad you joined up with us again. I know all about moving.........and it ain't no fun. It is exciting to get into your new home...............but you forget just how much stuff you have, until you are ready to move it all.

Well guys gots to get back to work. Ol' bossman is giving me the ol' evil eye. Little does he know that in 4 months good ol' David here is retiring!!!!Do I hear cheers out there in DIS Land!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!!!
Talk to you all again later.
PS.........Judy I may have an idea or 2 for your surprise messages. Let me give it alittle more thought.:thumbsup2

Wow congrats to you David! I am sure you're excited about that! And yes, it is so true you don't know how much stuff you have until you move.

Judy what cruise will you be taking this Fall? How long will take you guys to reach Florida? That sounds like a fun trip!

Judy, I was just reading your trip report and I saw that you guys stayed in a hotel in Fredericksburg VA. I live about 15 minutes from there!! I am so glad your DD is cancer free! Did they have fun parasailing?

Oh Yes, they had tons of fun parasailing! She took the camera up with her and took pictures while up there! Some are actually pretty great! Our drive is exactly 24 hours, but add time for stopping ect... So we break it down over two days. This year we are driving straight through after spending a night in Fort Belvoir VA with friends. These friends will actually be cruising with us too, but will be flying down a few days later. It's the "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise" Aboard the Magic we are taking this year! Less than 3 months to go!
But in two weeks and a day we'll be going on a very long drive to take DS to College, so thats one teen out of the house. Sadly, my other teen, we've been having major issues with her over this past year and especially the past 6 months and MOST especially the past month. She was grounded recently and didn't like that but left anyway. So Tough LOVE comes into play, I packed her a suitcase, left it on the front step and told her she's only welcome to come back home when she can abide by our rules. She's staying at her cousin's who is the same age but has been on her own since she was 17. My DD has said she wants to come home in a few days, but wants a clean slate and no grounding. AHEMMMMM. Sorry I told her, you can come if blah blah blah, and you'll still be grounded! Accpeting the grounding would go a long way to show she can abide by the rules, and we can start rebuilding the trust with her. (her biggest issue was the MEGA lying she was doing to US, Her friends (who don't know she's been lying to them), her teachers, her grandparents, and these are Major Lies too! To the point we can't believe Anything that comes out of her mouth!

Sorry for that story, but feels good to get it out! I had a bad day yesterday, but feel better about it all today. She is 19 afterall and regardless of her health issues in the past, she is healthy today, and we cannot let her walk all over us. She's agreed to go to family counselling and I have faith that that will really help.
I would LOVE her to move out permanently, in good circumstances, and when she can afford to support herself. But currently she has no job, so this isn't a good way to have her leave, but we had to do something. :)

Does anyone need to get passports or new ones for the Dream cruise? I must remind myself to get news ones for 3 of us, early in the new year. Ours expire in January.:scared1:
Oh, but if you are all American's, you don't Have to have passports correct? I need a better picture on mine anyway :thumbsup2. DS7 needed a new one for our trip last fall. We had all gotten these passports for our 1st cruise in 2006, and are good for 5 years. But DS7 was only 2 when he got his passport back then, and for kids under 3, passports are only good for 3 years.
We usually make a day of it, as it means a trip downtown. So maybe we'll go during winterlude. Visit the passport office first, then head down to the Canal for some poutine and beavertails! YUMMMM!!

We need to renew our passports. Both are expired. It's best for all to have a passport, even US citizens. Getting out of the country isn't the problem. It's getting back in that can be the issue.

Judy on an earlier post you mentioned your teenaged daughter and some of the issues you were having with her. You are not alone. When our daughter was in her teen years she was as rebellious as it sounds your daughter is now. We had some of the very same things with ours as you are having with your daughter. Just so you know, she turned out to be a nurse, put herself thru school and she turned out to be one wonderful woman. We are very proud of her. But during her teen years...........:sad2::eek::scared1: We wanted to pull our hair out.............or should I say we wanted to pull HER hair out.

We are fine on our passports. We're good until 2016. And.........ummmmm......don't know what poutine & beavertails are...........but if you like them............you go girl!!!!!

Well, looks like today is a total washout for my yard work.:yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2: Not complaining here..................we can always use the rain.

Well, I hear wify calling to me in her sweet voice that lunch is ready. I'm coming sweetie!!!! Talk to ya'll later!!! have a nice week-end.

LOL, thanks David. I know things will turn around with her. I always refer to my oldest two as my Guinea Pig Kids. They are my first experience into the world of Raising Teens. I learn lessons with them that will hopefully make it an easier venture with my younger two! She has agreed to Family counselling, and we have an appointment for next week. I want her home and I don't. It's tough, but the house is sure peaceful right now. Though her dog sure does miss her!

Poutine is a Delicious French Canadian Dish!! Not very Healthy, but DELICIOUS! It's French Fries with White Cheese Curds and thick Brown Gravy poured on top. Yum Yum Yum.

And a Beavertail is a pastry that is big and flat and resembels the shape of a Beavertail. It's covered in Cinamon and Sugar and a little lemon juice. Again, YUM!!

If you are EVER up to Canada and in the Ottawa area, you MUST try these!! Even Your President made a stop for a Beavertail while on visit here last winter (or was it the winter before?).

Ok Judy, poutine and bevertails do look delicous. If I'm ever up your way I'll be sure to give them a try. Though, DW has both of us watching our calories and trying to eat a little more on the healthy side. Once won't hurt .........will it!!!

Ok, I have something to tell ya'll. We have Verizon FIOS for our tv service. And, every now & then I can do a search for an up coming show. All I have to do is type in a brief description. For example, I do a search for Disney Cruise Line to see if any new shows are coming out featuring DCL. Well I did one yesterday evening. I type in DISNEY CR and what pops up is Experiencing Disney Dreams. So I click on it a low and behold it is a half hour show all about the new Disney Dream Cruise ship!!!!! I thought GREAT!!!:cool1::thumbsup2 I clicked to record and it said it was going to be on channel 1770. I thought what in the world is channel 1770????:confused: So I looked up channel 1770 and this is TV Japan. If I wanted to see this show I would have to subscribe to TV Japan for $25.00 a month and learn Japanese!
Well, maybe some day soon it will be soon for all of us to see.

Well, it's time for me to do my excerising. Ya'l have a nice Sunday!!!
