Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

 Shamefully, I'll admit, I have at least one moment like that EVERYDAY! Saturday, I went to the bank, for the 3rd time in the past 12 months to get a new debit card. Thankfully, it wasn't the same teller as the first two times! The previous time I lost my card and got a new one, I found the lost one 6 months later! This last time, I've searched high and low, and couldn't find it, so had to get a new one, and I KNOW chances are, I WILL find the lost one eventually.
If you ask my DH, he thinks I lost my mind years ago.

Once he drove me with all our kids in the back of the van, to Michael's Craft store. I had to pick up one item, so he waited in the van while I ran in and grabbed what I needed. When I came out, I was busy reading the coupons on the back of my receipt, but I could see the van in my Upper? peripheral vision. I walked to the van, opened the door, climbed in, all the while still reading my lovely coupons. When the van's engine didnt' start, and I looked up, about to say to DH "What the heck are you waiting for". To my HORROR  there WAS a man sitting in the drivers seat, AND KIDS in the back, BUT THEY WEREN'T MY DH OR MY KIDS!!! The guy was looking at me, knowing how embarrassed I now was and you could tell he was trying his darndest NOT to LAUGH!! With Huge Apologies, I got out as fast as I could and there was my DH in OUR van, across the way, LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY at me!
There, do you feel better now, that I've shared one of my most Senior Moments!

OMG! Did that ever make me laugh! :lmao: And believe me, after our awful Vegas trip I really needed a good laugh. I was never so happy to come home from a vacation. What a waste of vacation time and money.:sad2: We sure missed the magical vacation that DCL and WDW provide.

Donna

Oh, sorry to hear your Vegas trip wasn't great. What happened to turn it sour? Or is "What happens in Vegas, Stay's in Vegas" :)
I'm glad I was able to make you smile!

Oh, sorry to hear your Vegas trip wasn't great. What happened to turn it sour? Or is "What happens in Vegas, Stay's in Vegas" :)

Vegas is just not my thing. Just didn't like the atmosphere. I prefer a family type atmosphere. I don't gamble and feel if you've seen one casino you've seen them all. To top things off our DGD got sick for most of the vacation. High fever and vomiting. Poor baby. And the "Welcome to Vegas" sign should read "Welcome to Vega$$$". Everything was horribly expensive.

At least our son's ten minute wedding went well. It was a simple but beautiful ceremony. The other highlight of the trip was going with DD Shannon, Mike and DGD's (before Jade got sick) to Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. The scenery was gorgeous.

As much as I enjoy teasing Mike I have to admit that his great easy going attitude and sense of humor is what made the vacation bearable. How many guys would willingly stay in a hotel room with a sick kid and put up with a constantly complaining future mother-in-law?:worship: Good grief, I know I am going to regret putting that in writing.

Note to Mike...we did NOT get to the airport too early!

First off, let me welcome back Ragdoll, (Donna, or is it Sue!!!) I have trouble with names as ya'll can see. Sorry to hear your Vegas trip didn't go well, Donna. I have never been there, but some day maybe.
And Judy..............YES I got your name right, Judy, again my apologies for the name mixup. I had a similar situation, only mine was with our Disney credit card. We got this Disney credit card several years ago with the intention of using it only for our Disney vacations to WDW and DCL. Well, an emergency popped up as they often do, and we needed to use it for a home repair. I was looking in the local yellow pages for a repairman. I located one that ol' nosy neighbor said was a good choice. Called the guy and that was that. Several days later I needed the Disney card to make a reservation at WDW. I looked in all of the usual places and no credit card. I couldn't remember the last time I used the card either. Well, to make a long story short I ended up calling the credit card company to let them know DW:love: lost the card. (Of course I couldn't tell the lady I was talking to I, little ol' me, lost the card.):confused3 So they sent us two new cards. About 2 months later I had to use the yellow pages again and guess what fell out of the yellow pages book. Yep, MY Disney credit card!!!! (Another SENIOR moment strikes again!!!!):lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
So, Sue I'm glad to hear it's not just me that has the moments!!! Did I just read Sue.................I mean Judy..........yes Judy!!!! Oh me, oh my, what is a man suppose to do!!! Gues it's time for a brain transplant!!!!:scared1:
Ya'll have a great day!!!!

Here's a Funny I read a while back at work that had me cracking up. Thought I'd share another laugh with yall!

A wife is scrambling eggs when her husband suddenly bursts into the kitchen.
"Careful," he cries. "Careful! You're cooking too many at once. Too many! Scramble them! Now! We need more butter. They're going to stick! Careful! Now scramble them again! Hurry up! Are you crazy? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. Use the salt! THE SALT!
The wife tuns to her husband and asks, "WHAT is WRONG with you?"
Her husband calmly replies, ..............................."I wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving."

That is a good one!:rotfl: I'm sure my DH would love it as he could totally relate to that one.

Hey y'all...I hope everyone's doing well!

Judy-what lovely pictures...thanks for sharing. My DH and I both agree that after watching O'Canada in Epcot that we definitely want to visit there one day. And your DD and DS looked awesome in their prom attire!

Donna-Sorry to hear that you didn't have such a great trip to Vegas!

I'm at home with an upper respiratory infection today, and I saw this link on Facebook. I'm sure some of you have already seen it, but I thought I would post it here just in case. It's the latest update on the building of the Dream:

I didn't think I could be more excited, but seeing this only adds to it!

We just booked the 9/8 and 9/11 DREAM cruises.

First off let me :welcome: ClarabelleCowFan and family:welcome: to our discussion group. It is nice to meet you. You are going to have a great time as we all count down our time to the cruise!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

UGAFan0829, sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you feel better soon. Also, wanted to thank you for sharing that link about the building of the Dream. I hadn't seen it yet. That is going to be one great looking ship. I don't know how they build such a big ship so fast.

I'm at home this morning myself. I have a doctor's appointment this morning. Just my usual annual check-up. Going into work after my appointment. Gots to pay for this Dream Cruise some how!!!

Well, better get going and get ready. Talk to ya'll again real soon.:yay:

WELCOME CLARABELLCOWFAN!

So you are doing the 3/4 B2B? There are a handful of us doing the 4/3 B2B. Can't wait, it's going to be awesome!!

For anyone here who has done a DCL 3 night before, Have you found it different than the 4 Nights or longer? Different with regards to Passengers, behaviour? I've heard lots of talk on the boards, which indicates the atmosphere is very different. I've not experienced a 3 night myself, so just curious as to what Yall think. :) I'm going to enjoy that part regardless!

It's a beautiful day here and going to be HOT HOT HOT! DS6 brought home from school yesterday all his French Work from the past month, and notes about the curriculum plan for the next couple of weeks. ALL INDICATING THE WIND DOWN OF THE SCHOOL YEAR! WOW, I know THIS month is going to go by SOOOOOO fast!!! SUMMER, HERE WE COME!!

So is anyone here SURPRISING family members/kids with this cruise or do all of your family members/kids Know about it already?

Still haven't told either of my kids about either this falls cruise, or our 2011 cruise. Still hoping to tell them the day OF for this years cruise. :)

It's a wet rainy day outside today, so inside we've made homemade French bread, homemade lentil & wild rice soup, and other activities today are hopping frog games, frog puppet making, and slap that frog game, oh and a bunch of those Froggy songs too. Can't wait till nap time!

Yes - we are doing the 3/4 B2B. SO excited!! We just got the DVD in the mail and my DS3 keeps wanting to watch it over and over and over.

I read a comment by someone either on the DIS or Cruise Critic referring to the difference in cruisers on short trips and long trips. We have only done a 7 day cruise so I will be interested to see if that comment is true.

Well I had originally planned to surprise the kids but there was so much pre-planning to do that my oldest heard me on the phone so we ended up telling the others. My DD11 is counting down the days! :yay:

Beautiful, sunny day here. We are moving from MD to GA in 2 weeks and have so much to do before then. This cruise planning is such a welcome distraction!

Is anyone planning on doing any excursions in Nassau? Is there any type of Segway tour?

WELCOME, Clarabelle! Glad that you and your family will be joining us on the Dream!!

What part of GA are you moving to?

It's a good afternoon to ya'll. Well Su I mean Judy...............and ClarabelleCowFan we too are hoping to surprise our granddaughter with this back2back cruise. That is if her daddy will let her go. She will be missing some school, but DW and I plan on getting her school work for this week and help her get it done. Ppppppppsssssssssttttttttttttttt..................don't tell anyone.................can you keep a secret..................you won't tell will you...................can I trust you guys???.................ok,ok,ok,ok..........here is the scoop...................DW thinks this cruise is still in the planning stage. She don't know I went ahead and booked the cruise. I'M IN TROUBLE!!!!:scared1:

As far as the difference between the 7 day cruisers and the 3 day cruisers, the only difference I have seen is that the folks on the 3 day don't post as often on here. They are just as excited about their cruise. I guess since it is for only 3 days, they feel they won't have as much of a chance to make some new friends. It was kind of like that for us. It seemed like we no sooner got on board the ship, then you had to turn around and get off. It went that fast!!! We only saw our tablemates the first night and that was all. On our 7 day Disney cruise our tablemates were a hoot. It was Mom, Mom's sister, Dad and their two teenage daughters from Colorado. It was their 4th Disney cruise, and they were a wealth of information for us. We couldn't of had any better tablemates.

Well, better get back to work. Ol/ bossman is giving me the evil eye. (I don't think he is a Disney Fan):scared1::eek::scared1: Talk to ya'll later!!

Oh I'm so excited to see such a big group being so social. I had to just make the call to change our ressies from 5/15/11 to 9/11/11. I was sad that we have to wait longer but I think it's a good choice for us anyway. I will go back and catch up with who is who when I am done introducing my family.

We have 3 cabins 10A-7501- Me (Michele) and DH (Tyson)
11B-7517 DD (Brittany) her BF(Nate) and her son DGS(Tristen)
11C-GTY DD (Katy) and her BF (Chason)

My DH and have taken the girls on a DCL in May 06 and then DDKaty and I went on one with some friends Nov 08.
We are so looking forward to going on the Dream and seeing it through our DGS eyes. We all live in Vegas and will fly in the day before and hope to get a great rate at the Hyatt.

WELCOME, Clarabelle! Glad that you and your family will be joining us on the Dream!!

What part of GA are you moving to?

We are heading to scenic Fort Benning, GA. :rotfl:

At least we are closer to WDW, right? Where are you in North GA?

Sounds like you guys will have a fun family trip. :woohoo:

Is the Hyatt in Port Canaveral or are you talking about the one at MCO? We need to book a room in PC the nite before our first cruise.

Any word on whether or not we can use Fish Extenders on the Dream? I need to find a new one.

:welcome:WELCOME PIXIDUSTMOM!!:welcome:

(There David, I think I finally posted that awesome flashing WELCOME graphic, before you did THIS TIME!) LOL

Seriously, welcome Pixidustmom, it's great to see this thread growing. How old is your Grandson going to be on this cruise? My youngest, Tim, will have just turned 8 a month and a half earlier. WOW, can't believe he'll be 8! He turns 7 next month, my baby is growing SO FAST!!

I've lost track of how many people are on this thread now!
Excursions in Nassau? Hmmmm, Originally I wasn't even going to get off this time in Nassau, BUT we are surprising my mom and her BF with this cruise, and as THEY have never been, I thought it might be fun to head over to Paradise Island. I think there is a Beach excrusion over there, or over near where Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounters are. I saw someones photos of that excursion on the boards not too long ago, and it looked just amazing, and so relaxing. But I'll let my mom and her BF decided what they want to do, and we'll just go along with it. This will be gifted to them this Christmas!

We are cruising this fall as well, a 7 night Western Caribbean, our first time on the Magic. We've previously cruised twice on the Wonder, 4nights combined wth WDW.

This fall and next fall will be our first family vacations without our two oldest kids, who are currently 17 and turning 19 next month. Going from a family of 6 down to a family of 4 sure does make a lot of things much more affordable :) (at least thats what I keep telling myself when I have a mom moment of sadness at thinking of them leaving home! College bound)

I can't wait to meet you all on board!
