Wow! I agree, we were hoping for a new york cruise would be more affordable because we could drive there. NOT!

Anyways we are hopefully going to book Palo brunch and The Atlantis dolphin swim with aquaventure. I really want to see Atlantis and swim with dolphins! I'm so excited I can't get off this computer.

It seems like we were just saying it was a year away, now it's only 5 months!

We've been having some beautiful weather here yesterday and today!! Although it was quite windy yesterday, we actually had some humidity in the air that could be felt!! Today, It was sunny with a gentle breeze and a high of 57 Degrees!! I've definately got cruising on my mind, among other things.

Now tonight, I've got to go shopping for 4 toddler carseats! Some store clerk is going to raise an eye brow, thats for sure!! But at least insurance is paying for them and I'll have 4 matching seats instead of 4 mismatched seats. Reading reviews of the ones at the store I'll go to and glad I am. The reviews really make a difference in how I'm deciding to choose a particular seat. I may look for new bathing suit for the cruise too, while I'm out. That'll take my mind off of current events!!

I have never made reservation at Palo or anything but it seems the go fast. When can we make reservations? And starting at what time-lol?

Then what is all this I keep reading about checking in online and getting a lower boarding number? I am confused.

It can be confusing, they have this new system, which is and is not enforced depending on the cruise and staff at the time.

First off, if this is your first time cruising with DCL, you can make your Palo, Remy, or excursion reservations at 75 days out as long as you are paid in full.
If you are a Castaway Cay member (meaning you have cruised before with DCL), you can make these reservations at 90 days out.
At the time your booking window opens, enabling you to make the reservations, you can also do an online check in. Apparently NOW, DCL is also asking you to choose a port arrival time. For myself, no matter what time is available for port arrival, we WILL be arriving at the terminal for between 9 and 9:30. I have a rental car to return at 9 and their shuttle will be taking us over to the terminal.

Now the reports are that based on WHEN you do this online check in, will determine what boarding card number you get when you DO arrive at the terminal. But that is the issue, that isn't working all the time, just some of the time.
Doesn't matter to me though, my DCL vacation starts for me when I arrive at the terminal, weather or not I'm on the ship!!!

We are like you Judy, we get to the port as early as we can, cuz, again like you, our vacation officially starts when we get to the port!!! Even though we will be spending a couple days at WDW before the cruise. We enjoy seeing that Grand Ship we are about to set sail on, and watch all of the people in the terminal.

Judy I'm going to check out your designs. If'n you would I want a couple of door magnets for our June 2012 cruise on the Fantasy with our granddaughter. She really enjoys decorating our door for the cruise.

As crazy as it is, midnight EST....there are usually a bunch of us up and online.

Hi all,

I've been away from the disboards lately. I need to start getting back into getting everything ready for the trip. I'm so excited.

A couple of weeks ago several people were talking about the complimentary tickets to the Kennedy Space Center on this thread. I'm so excited I received a call today stating we received them for 9/9/11. My excel spreadsheet for the trip will look better now due to this savings, OR I will just use that savings someplace else. . My dh thinks I'm crazy because of my excel spreadsheet everytime we take trips. I just like to be prepared.

Anyway, I look forward to meeting everyone!

If you've sailed before that's correct, otherwise it's 75 days prior to sailing.

I hear ya!!! In my car accident last week, one of my initial thoughts was "I WANT TO CRUISE NOW!!!!!" And decided then and there that when I'm on that ship, I'll be making a trip to the gift shop to purchase some kind of small hanging model of the ship to hang from my rear view mirror in the van (like a small christmas ornament or something). That way no matter the crap on the road, There's always a reminder of a Happy Place Hanging right there for me to see!!

You know what I'm really wanting to get at Palo Brunch? The Green Grape and Cheese Pizza!!! When I first saw it last fall during our Dis group Brunch there, I thought YUCK!! But after my meal, there was still some of that Pizza left, so I tried a small piece (I was already stuffed), and MMMMMMmmmmmmm it was SOOOOOO good!! Who would of thought, Grapes on a Pizza!!

Can't believe the cruise is getting closer, everyone seems so organised with where they are eating and what they are doing, we havent even thought about it yet. Am so excited though, also love reading the posts makes the time go so much quicker.

How is everyone on this beautiful Friday morning!!!! The sun is shining down here in the ol' Sunshine State Gots my sun glasses on while driving into work this morning...............looking cool. High today is to be around 86 degrees, humidity is suppose to be coming in too. But got to love this weather!!! Although it does seem as if it went from "our" winter, right into summer...................no spring!!! Oh well, that's Florida for ya!!! Did I say that I LOVE IT!!!!
