This time in four weeks we'll asleep but will be getting up at 2.30am for a 3am bus to Stansted :)

Just got to glasgow, spent a couple of minutes stood at the front door trying to get in as gary and his mum were both out cold asleep, so was stood in the porch like an idiot while the dog was barking like mad!
Again thank you all so much for all the kind words, it means so much to both of us.

And great to meet margaret and DH, and Hazel and Annie, albeit only for five minutes as I was working, but great nonetheless :)

Ouch, I don't do early morning rises for catching planes, good luck with the 3 am bus :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Joking aside, glad to hear that you have arrived safely, you must be absolutely shattered or have been drinking a heck of a lot of red bull to keep you mega alert. At least the traffic would be quiet at this time of night, so you would have got a good run.

Take care and thinking of you all for the difficult week ahead :hug:

Noel - congrats to your daughter on her acceptance into law school.
Karen - my condolences to you and Gary on the passing of his father.

Only 24 days until we three caballeros leave for Barcelona!! :cool1:
Look forward to putting names with faces. Caroline

Hi guys.

Really sorry to the people I'm supposed to be meeting with tonight, but I can't make the meet up, chances are I'll be spending a couple of hours at work and then leavin to drive up to glasgow

Going to be AWOL on here for a bit, I'll try and respond to messages sent to me but it might take a while to reply

Just got a call from gary and unfortunately his dad lost his battle against cancer last night. I need to go into work as I need to find out what time I can get off and how long, then I'll be drivin up to glasgow tonight.
Really sorry to all the Kent meet-up people, I was really looking forward to meeting you all

My heartfelt sympathy for your loss Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Gary, and his family at this difficult time.

Maybe take it to your local vet and see if it has a chip to identify its owner. Our cats had chips put in.:goodvibes We have 3 indoor kitties but I have one that loves to run outside when I open my door. She likes to sunbathe! :rotfl: She usually stays right by the house on the porch but I'm always concerned a hawk might get her.

Like Sinnika, I was going to suggest checking with a vet to see if the cat has a microchip.

Yes, that is a good idea. I am still getting her to trust me though, she is very skittish, so the chances I have of putting her in a car or into a cat carrier (which is something I don't have!) would be pretty slim at current. We saw her enter the yard from the back today, so that gives us a clue to ask neighbors on that side & see if she is theirs or if they have some info on her.

At least she is not going hungry tonight.

So mass chaos around here today. Evidently Sam got into the law school in San Diego but they sent the letter to her Hawaii address and she never go it. So she gets a call today from Admissions since she left a message asking her status. Turns out orientation is Monday!!

Wow Noel! How exciting! You must be so proud.

How far away are you from San Diego? Maybe if you all forget something it will be easy to deliver it later.

Karen, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Gary's dad!

FE QUESTION

I know it's late in the day but that's how I roll ;) Am I supposed to give gifts per person or per cabin?

I have a number of items and I was just going to put them in the FE's and then the recipients then decide who wants what. Is this right or have I made a **** up? :rolleyes1

Mel x

I'm doing sort of a hybrid of sorts. Each cabin gets the same stuff but I'm adding an extra thing or two if there are children in the room. I've never done this before but it has been my understanding that whatever works for you works for the rest of the group! :) I hope you are having a great time planning the FE gifts. I'm having the time of my life! :)

I am not traveling with any kids this time but I usually give kids gifts to all the kids on all the groups... I think this time there is only just over 30 total.... I love seeing the kids get magic.....

Erik (TheViking, my DH) are not traveling with our children either. We are leaving them home with my mother. This is going to be the longest I've ever been without my children. I'm a little nervous. I am sad about not because able to see the magic of the Magic through my kids eyes. I love watching kids get excited it is one of the best treasures, ever! :)

Okay, not sure if I know how to do this, but here is a pix of the kids trying on their formal clothes (sans pants)

AND, I don't. So here is the link to it...

First of all, the boys look GREAT! Secondly to post a pic from photo bucket there is a link under the picture on photobucket (actually there are 4) labeled IMG, click on that, that should copy the link. Then when you go to post you click the picture of the yellow square with mountains in it on the top where you can change the color and texts and such. Then past the link. That should put your pic in your post.

RE GTY ASSIGNMENTS: Well, I guess I won't be making magnets with my cabin# on them, but I'll live. I'm more concerned about having lots of GTY rooms on our lists (FE, SM, Candy swap, excursions) and trying to locate everyone :sad2:...but if we don't get #s soon, we will all just have to list our cabins on the Dis whiteboard (referenced before). DCL, this is annoying :headache:!

I'm fairly annoyed with the fact that we only have a GTY state room, no number. I want to know who my neighbors are!!! I like to visualize things. I don't like this uncertainty!

In other news... I'm working like a crazy person on FE, Secret Mickey, Candy, and scrapbook exchange items! I have been having the time of my life! :) I have been neglecting the rest of my life. I am hosting a family birthday party
tomorrow and my house is a mess. I'm also sending my youngest son to camp on Sunday and I have nothing ready for that! Ay yi yi! Yet, after reading the boards, it's back to cruise prep I go! LOL

Okay, thanks, I'm going to save these instructions for the next time I want to post a picture here...

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.... Those boys are precious... and so handsome in their new formal attire!

Well, my door magnets are made. Only made 2 as we have a laser printer, so wasn't able to use the magnetic paper, and so have improvised. Must admit, I'm rather pleased with them. One thing checked off my "to do" list. :thumbsup2

Ouch a big rush, but fantastic that Sam got accepted for Law School :woohoo:

How exciting for you and Sam! Good Luck!

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes. San Diego is 500 miles south of here so is going to be really tricky to get all her stuff there by Monday!

I am seeing all the posts of 28 days or 29 days until the vacation but DH likes to look at it a different way. Only 16 more days of work before we take off. :woohoo: Makes it seem that much closer.

...

As soon as I read that, my mind went immediately to....Claire; perhaps they are related.

...I am sure that Lynne had a stronger accent than me, so you will have no problems ...

That would be Aunt Lynne from Scotland (orlandothebeagle)

Yeah! "Tis more blessed to give then receive" - I think a lot of us know that feeling when planning FE gifts.

You only have to do the click on the yellow space next to "IMG" on photobucket ; that copies it. Then just paste it in your post (For Mac users, so easy, Apple+V). Don't need to do the yellow mountain postcard step (not even sure why it's there).

Thank you to everyone for their well wishes. San Diego is 500 miles south of here so is going to be really tricky to get all her stuff there by Monday!

She did go to undergrad in SD, didn't she? That would take away some of the shock of starting school in a new town. Pass along a Ho'omaika'i 'ana.

Thank you to everyone! I don't know if she can get it all together but she is sure going to try!

Noel i'm so pleased for your DD, I hope you manage to get everything together for Monday. :wizard:

You are a cheeky monkey.... it's me who'll need the sub-titles for you :rotfl2: I have a beautiful enunciated accent, everyone understands me :lmao: you'll have no hope with Stevie :rotfl: he talks like the clappers :rotfl2:

I love chatting to everyone and they always mistake my accent for Irish for some reason and always ask if I am Scottish or Irish as they don't want to offend. One warning about the Scottish, the more excited we get, the faster we talk :rotfl2: best not to talk to me in the arrivals hall, I will be squealing with excitement :rotfl2:

Oh my word, i really will struggle with Stevie then....I hope you won't be offended when I look at Lee to translate for me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am meeting you in the arrivals hall, heaven help me! :rotfl: I guess we will just be squealing & jumping up & down anyway. :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

Aww poor little kitty, at least she found you who is kindly feeding her. :goodvibes I hope you manage to find her owners. :wizard:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I really have got myself a reputation!! ;)

Lovely photo of the little cuties all dressed up, they will look fab on formal night. :)

I saw that you manage the picture on the board. What a lovely couple in there formal. I can't wait to see them in real.

And Noel, you must be proud and she gonna make it in time I am sure.

And for all the GTY, lets hope we get the cabinnumbers before we sail. At least I know I get a verrandah and who knows we get the best ones.

It would indeed :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Sarah I am assuming you had no problem last year chatting to Stevie, he's more broad than me :lmao: I am sure that Lynne had a stronger accent than me, so you will have no problems :thumbsup2

I don't recall having any problems ... :goodvibes
