Seeing as how everyone is posting pictures of their furbabies I thought I would post mine

1238576300billabong2.jpg

Is he seriously cute or what?? His name is Billabong and I found him on the internet. Sadly he is not really mine, as DH is allergic to every animal on the planet. So he just sits quietly in my picture file on the computer and I pull it up whenever I need to look at his cute little puppy face :goodvibes

For all in the US, I hope you have a nice 4th july + weekend.

And for everyone that is not verry well this week, I hope this week is much better.

And then all the dog photo's. I am jealous of you all. I have not a dog, but I love to have one. But I work 4 days a week so I found it not right for a dog the whole day alone in the house. I take care sometimes of the dog of my sister, or the neighbours. I am a guestdog house so you can speak.
Do you take the t-shirt along with the Cruise Pat?
Or set the photo's on a iPad that's a good idea of (I don't know who it was) However, I make space to set the photo's of the cruise direct on my iPad. But I leave no dogs and my kid is going with me on the cruise. (They always be your kid(s) although he is already 24)

I like the name for the dancers on deck 9? Magic DIS-co dancers. I will come looking to you on the notsailing away party.
And yes it's more oceandance than riverdance on deck 6.
I hope I am not on deck 5, but I have to wait a least a 30 days I suppose to know on what deck I am.

It is about 2 months now for we leaving for our cruise. It is coming closer now. I look forward to see you all.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Liesbeth, we have 'not a dog', either. I'm SO allergic to furbearers! We solved the problem with Teddy Bears, and they can go with us :)

The "cruise curmudgeon" thread says they are our "familiars" and maybe that's so - all I know is - they don't eat much, never say "are we there yet" and pose happily for endless photos without tantrums.

Sorry to hear that so many have had such rough weeks. Seems like life is like a little boat on an ocean wave. Sometimes it's up on the crest of the wave and sometimes in the trough with nothing but water and sky visible. Hopefully everyone will feel well and be on the crest by the time of the cruise!

Happy Sunday!

There has always been a refrigerator.... they call it a cool box... in my cabin on all my DLC cruises. It does not have a freezer compartment but it does keep drinks plenty cold.

I know there has always been a cool box, but it isn't a refrigerator and the person asked about ice packs and a cool box can't make ice packs. Yes it can keep cold drinks cold for quite a while, as long as they are cold when you put them in there. I do wish it was a fridge though.

When Lorelei left she said "I meet princesses. I like prince charming." She's talking so much now. this trip is going to be so fun since she's much more interactive :goodvibes

Awww....that is so sweet! You are going to have so much fun with her on the cruise. :)

Than you to everyone for their well wishes. Life is a little mor sane today but I probably won't be on the DIS or FB much.

Here is the PAID in full pin list. If anyone else wants pins, I have a few that are still on allocation. If you are not on the list and feel you have paid, please send me details about your PayPal payment so I may correct the list.

WBTA2011LanyardPinsa.png

Hi - I paid for 2 pins (10 euros, correct?), but the list says I've only been allocated one.

I'll find the payment details for you :)

Important - Renaissance Hotel Shuttle share

Hope I got everyones attention :)

We have decided to book the shuttle with http://www.barcelona-airport-transfers.com/
This company come highly recommended on the boards.

Every email I have sent them they have gotten back to me promptly.

I need to get this booked asap.

If you definitely want to share the shuttle then please contact me via PM or leave a visitor message on my profile page.

I need to know how many in your party and how many suitcases & hand luggage you are going to have with you. Their mini buses hold 12-16 passengers.
This is from the website:-
*Normal luggage includes one big piece per person. Any extra luggage should be detailed.*

Payment for the shuttle needs to be made at time of booking so I would request people send payment via PayPal (gift option) so that I don't incur any extra charges.

Once we have all the people who are definite then I can book and work out how much it will be per person.
Cut off date to add your name to the shuttle share list would be 17th July 2011. This should give a bit time for people to see this post. Also posting this on the WBTA FB page.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Noel; what's going on? Hopefully nothing too bad.

Thank you for that insight. I remember not having a problem at all last year when we traveled but didn't know if something had changed. Glad to hear that we should be ok. :thumbsup2

Thing with the chip is that some stores don't just swipe the CC and ask for your signature, like you'll be used to as the standard in the US. At some you will actually use yout CC like you'ld use your ATM card and need a PINcode for that. This is also where the chip comes into play, sometimes the strip is used for that, sometimes the chip. Now I will say that is the absolute exception. I use my CC a lot on vacation and have never once needed to use my PINcode on it. It's so bad I don't even know my PINcode and am normally very good in remembering al kinds of pincodes. Obviously when you run into such a situation and your CC isn't set up with a PINcode, you've got a problem.

One of the many reasons why you should always have a second way of being able to pay on you. The above can prevent you from using your CC, but many other things also could happen. The CC-company blocking your card in suspecting it has been stolen seems to happen quite frequently for those of you from the US. So be proactive and inform the company about where you'll be using it and when. Your card could get skimmed and actually used for fraude while you are travelling, which will result in the CC-company blocking it. They tend to try and contact you about this but obviously that will not work when on the Atlantic. Also you could loose the card, get it stolen and what not more. Always have a second method of paying with you. Not just back in the stateroom, but on you when you go into port. If you do find you can't use your CC, you'll need it.

In the Netherlands they are changing the pinautomats. You can pin with your chip on your bankpass, but not everyone has a new pass. So you also can pin and pay with the magnetic strip on your pass.
I just understand that some bankpinautomats in Europe don't accept the new bankpass.
So I think that there is always a bank that accept your card. And you can pay with your creditcard.
I have never had a problem with my bankpass and creditcard.

Has nothing to do with this subject. This specific subject is in regards with a few countries and doesn't influence a huge difference between continents which can result into problems.

And one thing I'm kinda puzzled about; what's up with so many topics being opened about nobody wearing a short in Europe? :confused3 I mean, that's kinda like asking the same thing about the whole of the US; way too much distance and differences in weather, culture and what not. Sure, in general the Spanish, Italians etc. dress a lot fancier and a lot more elegant on any occasion than for instance us Dutch, the German, Belgians and the general consensus in many of the US states, but how did that ever translate into no shorts? :upsidedow

Anybody seen the Royal wedding yesterday? I've never seen anybody look that down on a wedding, let alone on her own wedding. Amazing dress, but I couldn't get over the sadness that Charlene seemed to radiate from every pore in her body. Also the directing of the tv-registration left me surprised. Most of the times it's done in such a way that they sure look like they're trying to not show anything that could possibly be shamefull or "not fitting", but this one surprised me. Felt like I stumbled from one weird moment into the next. Never would've imagened that we'ld get a front row seat for for instance Stephanie readjusting her dress because her ****s didn't want to stay put. :rolleyes1 And Belgian Prince Albert making his usual blunders again...... this for sure was the weirdest Royal wedding I've ever seen! Here's a huge dose of :wizard: that looks deceive and Charlene does end up very happy.

Do you take the t-shirt along with the Cruise Pat?

Yep. While I was making the cruise shirts on Vistaprint, I uploaded the photos and put them on the shirt. I know we're going to miss the "kids" so much, I wanted a reminder with us. I also made a large door magnet with all of our pictures on it. I love Vistaprint!

I like the FAB-ulous DisDancers as the name for our troupe. Never liked disco. Didn't like the 80's much either.

So yesterday we finally made it to wdw around 3:30. We parked at the extended parking for the Boardwalk and walked through to the Boardwalk Bakery for an oreo bon bon cupcake. :lovestruc

Then we walked through & entered at the World Showcase entrance. We went to Mexico pavillion & rode the ride there, then to Spaceship Earth, the Seas w/ Nemo and Living w/ the Land. Watched the Canada movie, then to the UK pavillion where we saw the new band there - British Revolution, then to Morocco for dinner at Tangerine Cafe (I love their shwarma plate) and window shopping in Japan, caramel corn in Germany and Illuminations. The weather was beautiful and it was a lovely night. I looked but didn't buy anything for my SM, so we'll just have to go back for that another time!

Today we're doing more homebound things - calling family, doing some shopping and I am making yet another pie (cherry this time.)

Happy Sunday everyone!!

Since everyone is posting images of their "kids" - here is ours. The first picture is from Mardi Gras - I'm not going to tell you what she had to do to get those beads! :rotfl2:

beads.jpg

Adorable! I love hound breed dogs -their eyes are so expressive.

I have traveled all over Europe and never have a problem. I do call my Bank and let them know which countries I will be using it in so that it does not look as if it's stolen. I heard about the "chip" thing a few years ago, but I have never had any trouble. I say "Spend Spend Spend",just sayin'

I like the way you think!

We need to think of a name for our group of ladies like the Magic Disdancers or Twinkle Toes Disdancers!!!!
We're taking names of potential candidates and there will be try-outs on deck (Deck 6 taken for Riverdance auditions!). Sounds like a good time to me! :thumbsup2

I'm game, maybe the "Magic Dis-co-dancers"

I like the name for the dancers on deck 9? Magic DIS-co dancers. I will come looking to you on the notsailing away party.
And yes it's more oceandance than riverdance on deck 6.
I hope I am not on deck 5, but I have to wait a least a 30 days I suppose to know on what deck I am.

I'm up for whatever name y'all like! I'll have to think of something we can do so we can recognize each other at the parties even if we don't meet up at the Meet & Greet on the first day......

I went to the optician’s today, because I felt I needed new glasses for the cruise, and all that reading I’m going to do. Only to have the young optician tell me that it’s only to be expected that my eyes have deteriorated and at my age it’s only going to get worst

My DD suffered a fall on her trek for the Duke of Edinburgh award. Thankfully no broken bones. She’s now back at base camp while her friends continue. I feel for her, although this was a practice for the real trek next year. She can no longer receive the full award without having completed it, after eight months of preparation it’s upsetting for her.
I'm really missing her now, because she sounded so upset about it and she won't be home until tuesday, but at 17 she's still my baby and as a mum I still want to protect her from life's down's

About the optometrist - they tell me the same thing every time. My contacts prescription is -6 in one eye and -6.5 in the other, and the dr. says it will continue to get worse as time goes on, but what can you do? :confused3

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's injury. Maybe you can plan a surprise for her when she comes home to cheer her up?

Heading to the beach in the morning. :beach: We'll be fighting the traffic:drive: with all the other "4th of July-ers" migrating to the ocean!:boat: Hope everyone has a wonderful week, be safe, and please, please, please don't make me come home and have to go over a ga-zillion messages to play catch-up on disboards!! LOL

Have a safe & fun trip! We will probably end up at the beach again this weekend too.

Whatever you are called, when dancing on Deck 6, you won't be Riverdance, you'll be Oceandance.

Now showing on a cruiseship not near you, for a 2-week limited engagement, "Oceandance."

LOL :rotfl: I love it!

Just got to WDW today. Went to 1900 park fare for dinner. When Lorelei left she said "I meet princesses. I like prince charming." She's talking so much now. this trip is going to be so fun since she's much more interactive :goodvibes

Aww, so cute. The weather was really nice yesterday evening. I hope you guys have a great time.

Me Too! Vistaprint is my new Pre cruise buddy!

We had our friends Jen and Scott over for drinks & cocktails last night. They are both Disney fans and they are running the Disneyland Tinker Bell Half Marathon in January and I think they may have talked us into it. 13.1 miles! :scared1: We have never run a race before but this seems like a good thing to build up to - mostly because it's Disney. :)

They have both run the half marathons at WDW before (and they even both did the WDW Princess half marathon last year). Apparently guys can do it too. :rotfl:

It's more the allure of getting the medal (which looks like this):
med393212small.jpg

And then I guess if you do another one in the same calendar year (they are going to do the Wine & Dine Half Marathon at Epcot in October), you get a special "coast to coast" medal too:

Chris & Jeremy,

You will have to meet my son Kevin, who will cruising with us. He ran the Disney marathon a few years ago. He's going for the Goofy medal in January--that's the half marathon and then the full marathon. Yeah, I think it's pretty Goofy myself! He is trying to run a marathon in each of the 50 states. I think he's up to about state #34.

He started running by using a program he found on the internet. He followed the instructions exactly, and he recommends it to any beginning runners.

He recently did the Alaska marathon. I think you'll enjoy chatting with him.

Looking forward to meeting you,
Karen

My Daughter did the Wine and Dine Half Marathon at WDW last year. I was there to cheer her on. It was real nice, you will love it. She ran through Animal Kingdom at night and said it was pretty neat.

michelle - did barcelona airport transfers ask you for exact amounts of luggage? last year we just ticked the extra luggage box and they bought a trailer

binkytell - sorry, but we sold out of those mickey tutu thingys. if they come back in i'll try and snag you one.

again apologies for not replying to PMs, still ill, and feeling worse now. went to emergency clinic yesterday who gave me some penicillin but its getting worse so going to my doctor tomorrow. being away from the dis sucks! but basically been in bed for the last 3 days.

Karen,

Please get well soon. I always hate it when I am finally fed up enough to go get some antibiotics, and then they tell me it is "just a virus and not an infection" and it "has to run its course." I can't believe that we don't have better medications--it's 2011!

Anyway, take care of yourself. If good wishes help, you should already be feeling fine.

Karen

Wow, good for you guys! I am not a runner but I think the ones at wdw sound pretty awesome.

Oh no Karen! I knew you weren't feeling well but didn't know how serious it was.

If its stomach related, remember the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce and toast) - it will be easier on your tummy. I had an awful bacterial infection earlier this year that was only cured by a liquid diet of coconut water and regular water for 2 days followed by the BRAT diet.

I hope you feel better really soon. :flower3:
