 Just a thought ... although it won't help you much before the cruise. I have bought scrapbooking supplies from http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/disney.html before and they have lots of cool stuff for Disney and cruising. They are located in Florida and are super helpful, I'm sure they could arrange for stuff to be sent to your hotel. That way you could avoid expensive shipping fees and custom taxes.

Love the site! Thanks for sharing it with us! :thumbsup2

OK, following on from a post on our Facebook page.

Are we having a welcome get together in the Promenade Lounge at 3pm on embarkation day? We don't think it has been mentioned here, but it would be a great chance to meet and greet, and possibly for Noel(with help) to distribute the lanyards and pins if she wants to.

We know there is supposed to be a gathering for the (non)sailaway party and that can still go ahead of course. It is quite a bit of fun joining with others for that.

Also someone wondered about an evening gathering which also would be a great idea for those who would like a wee drinkie along with others to aid getting to know each other even more;) Now I wouldn't be at this one, but do you think it is a good idea?

I woke up this morning to FIVE healthy fur babies

All I know is that I am shattered :rotfl:

Tink is a great mum and taking very good care of them. They're all huddled together and feeding :cloud9:

Congratulations on your grand"fur babies"!:banana:

You've done fantastically well - that's a great loss!

I still have my cheats, but I once read something by a Dr Heller who practiced a type of low-carbing called "Hellering"... if you were going to "cheat" on a low carb way of eating, try to ensure that the cheating is done within a 60 minute time frame. Meaning, do what you're doing - have a small amount, then quit. But don't have a half piece of toast, then a few hours later have a piece of cake, then after dinner have something else. Do your damage within a tiny time frame and you help control your blood glucose levels from spiking too much. So I "heller" once and a while and it keeps me right.

Don't you love the stinkeye you get when you have bacon, cream, pork belly and half a pound of cheese in your shopping basket? People think I'm stark raving mad.

Who cares - I'm healthy and skinny! (well, not skinny exactly, but a whole lot smaller than I was!)

Here's my current low-carb favourite:

Crispy Coconut Chicken

1 C. dessicated coconut
1 Tablespoon Splenda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch strips
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 C. butter or margarine, melted

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix coconut, salt, pepper, splenda (if desired) and garlic powder in medium bowl. Dip chicken strips into egg, then coat with coconut mixture.

Deep fry in hot oil until golden and crispy. Or, place in a shallow baking pan. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake 25 minutes or until chicken is browned and cooked through, turning once.

Makes about 2 dozen.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! THere's very little carb in shredded (dessicated) coconut, providing you get the non-sweetened variety. I dip it in soy sauce and it's probably my favourite thing right now :lovestruc

Love this must try!

I have been on the receiving end of a stinkeye many times, but as you say--who cares? I'm not the size I once was, and it works for me :thumbsup2

I thought about doing that, but I've just stuck it in front of the window and opened it

Well it did rain, but it's going back to blue skies...

I just got my boa this morning...took it out of the bag and got covered in pink feathers. Tink was eating them as they were falling off. She looked so cute with pink feathers stuck to her nose!!:rotfl:

It's still not rained here but is very dark....great as I am off to see Take That tonight! I guess i'm going to get wet.

Aww I bet Tink looked cute!

We would be interested in the Promenade lounge meet, I am planning on being up on Deck 10 for the non-sailaway gathering anyway. :cool1:

Not sure about the evening one, it would depend what time.

3pm would be a good time - we'd probably not be there for long though as we're on main dining so will be rushing off to get ready.

Hope it stays dry for you tonight - have a fab time. Say hello to Robbie for me ;)
She did look so cute, bless.

We are intending to be up on deck 10 for the sailaway or non sailaway party whatever it is.

Hi to all who have been on the WBTA:
Is it your experience that the bags don't arrive in time for main seating dinner? Hadn't heard this before & would like to know if we need to pack accordingly.
Thanks!
Connie

I have been on several DCL cruises... I always have had main (early) dinning. They usually have your bags to your room by 3pm... I have always had mine in plenty of time for early seating.
This time I am doing late dining for the first time.... It will be a whole new experience for me...:confused3

I don't normally stay too long at the 3pm meet either. Some do, some don't, all very relaxing vacation mode!!!!!:dance3: Anyway I guess we have to be at the lifeboat drill for 4pm.

DH got his case pretty quickly last year, mine was quite late. It was delivered 4:50pm - I know I wrote it down as I was panicking...lol's We still made dinner on time though.

I'd forgotten about the drill...ah well we'll be leaving even earlier :)

I am looking for a roomate if anyone knows of someone who wants to share. I have a balcony room with a great Travel Industry Rate. If you know of anyone, let me knowparty: Thanks Much

Just wanted to re-post this as fly4free2 is still looking for a room mate! It always more fun with a friend...and she's a fun one!

Since I've never been on the TA before, I assume this means that we don't sail until later? Is that correct?

....

:thumbsup2

Agreeing here too!! I've always liked the 3 pm meetings too - staterooms are open, it's before the drill, room changes & lanyards are handled....

Sometimes people use this time to pass out any updated lists for FEs or events too. It can be a quick stop or stay to visit. :woohoo: Now that we don't have to take life vests with us to the drill, you can just leave from there if you like.

When did that change? I thought that was some kind of international maritime rule (I'm making that up). Those are always so good for a dorky picture!

Hmmm. I was thinking we had already planned on a 3pm Promenade Lounge meet. Guess I made that up, too. Anyway, I'm for it!

It is so much easier without life jackets, but they did make a great photo.

Wow, is 5 the final count then :)

Fantastic catch up as always Lynne, thanks :thumbsup2

Yep final count. I don't think I could cope with any more lol ;)

Michelle there is a Waitrose in Eldon Square, where the Green Market was. I've never tried it myself as hardly ever go into town. I may have a go at home delivery one of these old days though.

Ah how lovely. So you are a grandma now ;)

Loads of choice for you then Marilyn. Lols at John walking to Asda :rotfl:

Lovely day here for :laundy: I'm off to peg out the next lot :)

OMG NOOOOO :rotfl: :lmao:

Congratulations on your grand"fur babies"!:banana:

Ah thanks so much :cutie:

I don’t know why I had it in my head that we were definitely having a 3 pm meet in the Promenade Lounge, maybe because that’s what happened last year and all the pins and lanyards were given out there. From memory, it didn’t last long because everyone wanted to get to their rooms and get unpacked and get to the life boat drill.

I am assuming we are going to do the same this year?

It was great on the cruise we just did not having to take the lifejackets with us. How they do it now is that your KTTW card now had a big letter on the front with your lifeboat station point so that they can direct you to the right station, rather than looking at the front of your lifejacket on where to direct you. Our KTTW card last week had a big F on the front of it.

We have discussed unofficially about all meeting up on deck 10 to watch Karen Tan and crew doing all the dancing on deck 9 and the rest of us were going to be watching from above with lots of FABs and cocktails in hand. I’m sure it was called “adventures away” or something like that because we didn’t actually sail from Barcelona until 9 pm ish.

I don’t know about meeting later on in the evening, there’s so much to do on the first night getting organised and meeting our fabbie tablemates and getting acquainted :cool1:

I am for meeting up around 3 on the ship before lifeboat.

No life jackets on any cruises anymore, its a freedom we have never known! Probably saves from a lot of accidental tripping on the straps.

Perhaps we should just add it to the front page and people who want to can swing by??

Amanda
