Sarah thank you for all you did, but it is probably for the best not to work with them. Don't worry about it.;)

Lynn great artwork.:thumbsup2

I was having so much fun with artwork, I played around with it some more:

I'm definitely not trying to steal the beer glass thunder; just doing a martini version for the fun of it. And nobody but DISers would appreciate all the graphics. :goodvibes

I think these are great and as a non-beer drinker who plans to do the pub crawl, I would love to make these on zazzle or cafe press. Can you send me the art, I will PM you my email.

Actually it just occurred to me - there aren't any issues with customs, etc when going into port? I didn't know if you could only buy so much wine/liquor (or anything for that matter) without having to pay duty?

Do you have to declare anything when you get onto the ship from port or is that only for any left over (ha) when you get to Port Canaveral?

Based on our cruising experience no one checks until you get back to the U.S. Port security is pretty lax and the ship usually has a second layer of security on board, but they don't ask for customs or duty, you only do that when you re-enter America.

Hi Noel

I've checked my info on the Welcome Wagon post. Not quite sure what's happened with the Champagne girls info as it seems to have merged with the Lanyard pins. Maybe you could separate them?

Also I noticed a few of the links either don't open or open a different post. I didn't check the whole lot just the Champagne girls & Scrapbook exchange one's.

All my other info is correct, thanks. :thumbsup2

Something is weird with the post and am working on fixing it. Please check it later today again when I repost check links!

OK, just a question, but your welcome wagon post, is that located someplace? Am I missing something? A website? :scratchin

Definitely.

I went to special needs camp as a nurse (no, not as a camper) one year and was the only one not notified that they have a dance where everyone dresses to a theme. I felt so left out. So I post this type of stuff. That's why I love your Welcome Wagon post. Gets the group activity info out there to EACH of the new posting cruisers (and any lurkers reading, too). :grouphug: to you for that.

Thank you!! I want to get this post right but somehow it keeps getting fouled up on the DIS!!

Speaking of High Tea ..... I came across these pics on the boards and thought I would share

I need 3-4 times as much cream and 1/2 the amount of jam (unless it were homemade jam) to make this work for me :rolleyes1

I'm curious what the pyramid shaped thing is with caramel and chocolate .. looks delish.

love that little disney touch to whatever deliciousness this is :lovestruc ... trifle :confused3

So I think we'd like to go there, and also see the apes (a must do), and maybe go to Europa Point. And, of course, Morrison's and maybe the Swarovski store, now that you've mentioned it. Any ideas on the best way to do this? I guess taxis would work, but could we do all this with a bus pass, too? I usually prefer using public transportation to taxis. We have no problems with the cable cars to the top of the Rock if that's how we have to do it - it's an adventure!

I was browsing the Cruise Critic boards today for info' on Gibraltar and someone who lives there had posted that public buses are now free of charge (bill being footed solely by taxpayers). You still get given a ticket by the bus driver, but don't have to pay anything. Hopefully that will still be the case when we get there in September (the information had been posted a few days ago). The bus stops are enroute from the cruise terminal to the cable car (in fact there is apparently a bus that goes past the cable car station so people who prefer not to walk can catch this). Posts on that board indicate that the walk time from the ship to the base cable car station is between 25 and 45 minutes (depending on how fast you walk), and it is all on the flat.

It appears to me that they have had a better offer from a cruise ship and they are not really interested in honouring our original agreement.

I have decided that I will give them one more week to respond, and if I still hear nothing then I am going to suggest we pull out of this trip as a group booking.

Obviously people can still go ahead and try and book this as individual smaller groups and maybe they will ahve better luck. I am so disappointed and frustrated as they seemed really keen to accomodate us when I first enquired, and I really feel that I am somehow letting everyone down.

Totally Dont you worry worst case they get any of our money. Looks like we are in port with the P&O Ventura now.

Dan

YUMMY I'm liking those High tea photos! Fingers crossed I can get it sorted. :wizard:

  Hugs for you and Sarah. Neither of you is letting anyone down, you just have to reach a point where you say; this is no longer worth it.

Sarah, I would feel uneasy trusting money to these guys, even if they did get back to you within the week :headache:

Claire, unless Disney was willing to put on a tea just for the ladies of the DISboards, it doesn't seem possible that we could all get ressies on the same day. If we were onboard the Wonder, I would suggest just meeting at Outlook Cafe, and ask Disney to prepare some goodies for us to have with coffee. Not sure the Magic's space is as big. :confused3

I still have one option that i'm working on to get a group booking at Palo but if all else fails we still have the Champagne girls meet. :thumbsup2

Ok Noel, thanks. :)

I was reading a bit about Gibraltar on TripAdvisor, and I found something that hasn't been mentioned much here. I'm wondering if anyone has any info about it. I know about the Siege Tunnels, but I'd rather see the WWII tunnels (not the same thing, apparently). I love learning about that period - one of my all-time favorite places to visit was the Cabinet War Rooms in London. Fascinating! Yes the tunnel is very worthwhile :thumbsup2 We did one last year & was very glad we did. There were displays inside, a bit like a museum. Its amazing how little the soldier's food ration was in those days!!

We took the cable car up to the rock but then walked down and that's how we came across the tunnels.

Just a note though, there was a small bit of climbing involved, so those who have trouble w/ steps might want to avoid them.

Speaking of tea, we did a Pacific coastal cruise last year and one of the stops was Victoria. We were able to do tea at Butchart Gardens and it was a memorable experience. I don't know if the DCL ships stop in Victoria for Alaska cruises or the Pacific itineraries, but I would recommend doing the tea if you have time there.

Here is a photo of the tea at Butchart Gardens:

Wish I could've gotten into Palo tea!

Does anyone know if they keep some of the reservations to be made onboard? We found this was true w/ the brunch reservations, but I didn't know about the tea - any experiences successfully booking tea onboard?

I had issues with a reply using quotes today as well. Very odd.

Dan

That's the good thing is that they don't have any $$ yet! And like others (and the other "you won't see dolphins" reports), it makes you want to just drop 'em.

Too bad P&O is there now - I was looking forward to so many ports with no other ships in port. Fewer cruise ship passengers seems to make better bargaining power for walk-up tours I have found.

YUMMY I'm liking those High tea photos! Fingers crossed I can get it sorted. :wizard:

Okay, I had not really even thought of High Tea, but those pictures have me reconsidering!!! :rotfl2:

We're those the Siege Tunnels or WWII Tunnels?

My experience is tea is the most difficult to book prior to and once on board. They have limited servers so less amount of people to accommodate. I was able to get my tea but that was due to my early booking window. Hoping it all works out for those wanting the tea:wizard::wizard:

Wow you guys are chatty! My husband and I did the EB TA last year and I would consider it one of the best vacations I have ever taken in my life. I can't believe you all are so far into thread number 4! We are on the verge of taking this cruise. Just trying to work out some work conflicts on my husbands end but we are about 85% of the way to booking. Can I just say I am already jumping up and down with excitement.:cool1::yay:

Attention Event Organizers, AGAIN!!

Well, after 5 hours of fiddling with the DIS, I think the "welcome wagon" post is correct. If you had problems with your listing earlier, please recheck.

Noel

I have sent an email which is blunt and to the point ....basically if I don't hear from them by end of next week then I will be pulling out. Can't get any plainer than that. After all the hassle and stuff I am reluctant to give them my money anyway, they are clearly unreliable and as you don't have to pay up front we could all turn up on the day and they could let us down. I am just so disappointed with the whole thing and am ready to pull the plug on doing this trip.

Hi Sarah

Just catching up on things - sooo many pages :-)

I can certainly say that we would not be upset in any way ,if the Dolphin trip falls through. :thumbsup2

Ces't la Vie mon Amie :dance3:

More time for shopping eh ? pirate:
