Are we agreed that we can have lots of roaming magnets, then? Everyone can have their own?

I like this idea even more than FEs; a whole lot lighter in the luggage weight.

sounds great. what do you all think of people doing them having different characters on them? that way we can see how many different characters we can see and sign? i'm working on either a normal mickey or captain mickey one.

Okay, after seeing the price for this IGT Category on the cruise I caved and you can add me as a new guest on board. :sail: Will be traveling solo. Looks like I have a LOT of reading to do to catch up :). Not sure what my cabin is yet but I am early dining.
Blake

Welcome aboard, Blake!

Ok. So I have a strange request. Does anyone have a picture of a verandah room as taken from standing in the hallway looking into the room. My DH is trying to be creative for our door magnet and needs to have something to work from. If you do and don't mind letting us use it as reference can you PM me?

ST MAARTEN/SINT MARTIN EXCURSION - IPO - INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING

I've contacted Bernard's Tours to do a personalized tour on St Maarten:

Pick-up at ship at 7:45 am (we arrive at 7:15)
Drive to Marigot, Sint Martin (French side)
Breakfast and/or shopping (think croissants, pain chocolate) x 1 hour
Drive to Cul de Sac to catch ferry (10 minute boat ride)
Beach time/lunch on Pinel Island x ~4 hours
Drive to Maho Beach to view airplanes land
Return to cruise ship

I asked for an estimate for 6-12 people. This would be the cost of transport (only, I assume)

For 1-6 people, total = $350 split amongst them
For 7-12 people, price per person is $45

You would need to pay for
- Ferry $7 RT pp
- Lounge chair/umbrella (optional) at $15-20 per 2 chairs/1 umbrella
- Breakfast in Marigot or shopping $
- Lunch, beverages
- Beverages at Maho

He has air conditioned, non-smoking vans.

The main beach on Pinel island is NOT clothing-optional. (Sorry, Claire, you would need more than a top and sandals.)

I'll put up more info about Pinel Island when I've got photos in photobucket.

Looking for interested parties.

Hi Lynne

I'm interested in joining you. Will send a PM.

SHARK DIVING

I have a few spots available if you want to do a shark dive in St. Maarten's. It will be a 2 tank dive with one of them being a shark dive. This is an awesome opportunity to see some sharks up close and personal.
If you have an interest or questions please PM me.

Hi Jill, have sent you a PM. Please add Paul to your list of divers. :)

:welcome: aboard Blake. We are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland. We did the WBTA last year and it was amazing :cool1:

That is great to hear, Noel! I had emailed them in May, and finally bit the bullet because Curt just wanted to do the cable car / garden / toboggan. I wanted to at least see part of the island. What time will your tours be heading out? I noticed the DCL tour was leaving 10:15, arriving 5:59. My girls would have definitely been fussy during naptime.

Our tours will probably meet about 8:45 AM and leave by 9:00 AM or earlier. Most everyone was back on board by 5:30 or earlier if they didn't wine taste at Blandy's.

My kids learn to nap in strollers as we traveled so much when they were little. Our youngest did a marathon shopping day with my sister Karen and I of 12 hours when she was 6 months old!

:welcome: Blake

We are Annemarie and Hazel from Kent UK and this our first cruise and very excited. 63 sleeps woohoo!!!:cheer2:

Hi,

Andrew and I would be interested!

It would be fine if you want to hold it til the cruise because I won't be using them til after the cruise. Thanks so much for picking them up and your husband is right, you are a sweetie for doing so! Just let me know how much I owe you and I can either give it to you on the cruise or mail you the money. Thanks again!!!!

You're welcome :goodvibes each of the items was $2.39, I can wait and get the money onboard if that's ok with you.

That is just awesome... I love Ducky.. he is a very kind man.
He drew a picture for my daughter for me. It was so cool... She is an optometrist and had a chance one time to give Mickey an eye exam. It was so cute... Mickey bent over a little, covered his eye with one hand and was reading an eye chart she was holding. I took the picture to Ducky and asked if he could draw something like that for her. He did...:worship: it didn't have her in it but had the same Mickey holding his eye and the eye chart being held by a big Mickey type hand..... She so cherish's that drawing and has it hanging in her office... It was her birthday present as I can never find her anything special anymore..... I scored!:banana::banana:

What a lovely keepsake to have. :goodvibes
Ducky is a lovely man, we had the pleasure of meeting him on the Dream MV but the queue was about 50 miles long so we didn't get to stop and chat much but he signed our special Lithograph and we had a photo taken with him.

Yes he really is the sweetest guy. We also took a drawing class with him and hung around after the class finishing up our drawings. DH asked him for some pointers on drawing Mickey, then Ducky took a red pencil and corrected Ed's Mickey. To say that Ed was over the moon is a vast understatement. Don't you just love it when someone makes someone you love soooo happy :goodvibes

I am so excited:mickeyjum that I am no longer going "solo"... my sweet cousin Jana will be joining me. I will be so fun having her to travel with. :jumping2::jumping1::goofy::hmghost:
I have added her to the activities I signed up so. If you are a coordinator and I signed up for your activity, please add Jana if you can. I tried to pm everyone but may have missed something.

How fun for you .. welcome to Jana. Also a big welcome to Blake.

This one looks very nice but you would have to email and ask about a day charge. I think it is the off season in the Caribbean so they might be interested in the extra income.

Marilyn, I thought I read that you did the butterfly tour with Disney and thought it was unexciting. We are booked on that tour and would love to hear more about it, as we are thinking maybe we should find something else to do.

What an awesome idea! Great souvenir for the ole' scrapbook! :cool1:

Deb, when I first saw the passport, I mostly just wanted to scrapbook in it. The counselors in the kids club, psyched us up so much to use it as it was intended that we couldn't resist .. and I'm glad we did it, as there are so many interesting people to meet on the ship.

sounds great. what do you all think of people doing them having different characters on them? that way we can see how many different characters we can see and sign? i'm working on either a normal mickey or captain mickey one.

Sounds like so much fun, thanks for suggesting it to the group

Wow, what a week! I had 20+ pages to catch up on.

I wen to Tampa for work last week, came home to a mess with reconfiguring the laundry room for a new stacked washer/dryer....then the delivery of the unit was a mess...struggled with tummy trouble throughout the week....and then DH had surgery yesterday!

Needless to say, I've been off the boards this whole week. I'm feeling better though still not great. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day that I return to my normal self.

Take care,

Keri (aka, another Karen)

The St Maarten one? It was the bus part that was a little boring. But, you are sitting down in an air conditioned bus!!!;) I think really it was John who didn't like it over much, I didn't mind it. The butterfly farm was lovely, we both loved that, and I think the sea part would be good normally but on ours the speaker system wasn't working so we couldn't have any commentary. We had to wait for quite sometime while they tried to fix it. The 'captain' just wandered round pointing out points of interest instead. I think these kinds of trips are really good to get an overall look at places and they don't normally last too long either.

We did really like the similar one on Tortola though.

Sorry you have had such a bad week. I hope you and your husband are soon fully recovered.

Now....bear with this ole' lady.....I know what door magnets are. I've finished all of mine. Do we just make a regular size character magnet and as many people sign it as they can? Help me out a little on this one. lol Does it stay on our door or does it go cruisin' from one dis-door to another? How do we get it back(for bookscrappers like me who would love to use in an album)?

You are such fast typers here - so, whom do I contact abut the van tour on Gibraltar? My dds tell me I would be crazy not to see it - so, I am interested. Thanks. Caroline

i plan on doing an A4 magnet, it'll go cruising round the ship for two weeks, but it'll have a note on the bottom asking for it to be returned to my room on the last day.

Hi All

And a hearty :welcome: to our new crew-mates.

I seem to remember someone posting about a trip in St Maarten with Captain Alan. I'm not sure if anyone had arranged a group excursion.

However, if anyone has any information of a current organised trip, or a previous trip, I'd be happy to hear any comments.

We were thinking of a morning beach/boat trip, then an afternoon in Marigot for a late lunch and a little shopping at the market. We're interested in the logistics of getting around.
Can we:
1. Pick up a taxi from the port?
2. Pick up a taxi from Capt Alan's dock?
3. Pick up a taxi in Marigot to return us to the ship.

See you all in nine weeks :thumbsup2

Jane and Dave :dancer:

Caroline -
We have room for a single on our bus. Are you interested? PM if you are. Thanks

I am in the first group for the private brunch and we are waiting to find out our brunch date. I was wondering, is there any chance that the Mojito and/or Mixology classes will be at the same time? I just want to be sure there won't be a conflict.
