Wow, can't believe we're already to thread #5. Thanks to those who do all of the work organizing and setting up the new threads :worship:

I've been lurking, but crazy busy. Three volunteer events in one week, holiday weekend, and hubby working 8 days straight. I'm just thankful I have had only one call for emergency tutoring over the holiday weekend. :rotfl2:

Mandy, what organization do you volunteer for? I'm in the Junior League so I do a bit of volunteering & fundraising in my spare time too.

Hi! I'm Sandy and I will be sailing the WBTA. No cabin number yet. Sailed last year with my husband, but he has to work this year, so I'm sailing solo. We are sailing the Dream 9/4-8. I'll stay 1 night at WDW--then fly to Barcelona on 9th. Guess you could call it back to back!!!!

Can't wait to meet everyone.

Sandy (yogitxtx)

Welcome Sandy!!!!
We're Liz and Joe.

I am so jealous of your back-to-back! That is just awesome :goodvibes We are also staying at wdw the night before we fly to Barcelona from Orlando, but we fly out on the 8th so we arrive in Barcelona on the 9th - the day before the cruise.

Sorry your hubby can't come, but good news is you will find lots of buddies on this thread. :hyper2: There is a group of disers doing Palo brunch, I think there are still spots left for that if you are interested - I think some folks are also linking their dining reservations.

Totally off topic (cause we NEVER go off topic around here :rotfl2:) but...

Has anyone else been following the Casey Anthony trial in Orlando? This is the one where the mom is accused of murdering her 2-yr-old daughter and (among other things) claimed a non-existent nanny had her for a month. It's been like a bad car wreck - you know you shouldn't look, but can't help yourself. Total circus. Anyway, it's been going on for about 7 weeks and it's finally gone to the jury. I'm curious to see what they will decide.
I think we're all interested, or there wouldn't have been such a media frenzy. It really isn't a question of IF she's guilty (she's already admitted lying and a cover-up), but of what. I've generally avoided listening to very much of it....too sad.....but it's impossible not to hear about it on either the news or the entertainment shows. I have a degree in psych, and I still can't fathom someone doing what, in all likelihood, she did and behaving the way she behaved afterward. :sad2:

And because I always see the other side of any discussion, argument or debate
My condolences to all our American Disers for the anniversary of leaving the British Empire:rolleyes:

Norman

Haha! Norman, I love it!
It's been a wonderful Independence Day. :)

Hi
Just popping in from Orlando to wish all of my American friends a wonderful
4th July ..... I have just got back from watching the breathtaking 4th July firework display at Magic Kingdom, we watched from the Poly beach and it was a magical experience .... brought a tear to my eye and I am not even American but it was just wonderful to see so many people showing such patriotism and pride in their nation. Last night we watched fireworks off shore at Cocoa Beach and that was also beautiful .... the reflection off the ocean was stunning. Hope everyone has had a wonderful 4th.

have you been to singapore before? we were there for two weeks in february (mum and dad went for two months - dad was born over there), but been before too and we still love the place. so clean and so efficient.

if you havent had it before, try something called kaya toast. its sooo yummy! we bought a jar of the jam home but have just finished it so no more kaya :(

Hi Karen, my mother is originally from Singapore, still have uncle still there, reason for our visit, to celebrate his 80th birthday. Love the kaya toast. You should be able to buy a jar in the UK, I remember getting it from a shop in China Town, London when I use to live in Woolwich, but any asian shop should have some. If not, let me know and I will bring a jar over for you.

Burnice

I checked the bus routes in Gibraltar and it looks like we can get to all the places we want to go by using the buses. Well, except the top of the rock, but we'll take the cable car for that. Don't know if that would work for you and your dad, Burnice, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Thanks Pat, will look into that, silly me, didn't think about that:rolleyes1, especially as my parents love using buses to get around.

I'm back!! :teeth: We had the most amazing weekend in London celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, Lee was thrilled with all the planning & surprises I had been plotting for months. ;)

I will upload some photo's this afternoon to share with you all. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is well & had a great weekend, belated Happy 4th July to my US friends. I guess I best get myself a cuppa tea & go back & catch up with what i've missed over the past few days. :)

welcome back, sounds like you both had an amazing time, glad all your hard planning went so well, congratulations on your 10th wedding anniversary,

Whatever you are called, when dancing on Deck 6, you won't be Riverdance, you'll be Oceandance.

Now showing on a cruiseship not near you, for a 2-week limited engagement, "Oceandance."

:lmao::lmao::lmao: nice one Lynne !!

Already got 'em.

Dogshirt-1.jpg

That's fantastic Pat, imagine having a t-shirt with all your babies on, that's brilliant :cool1:

Seeing as how everyone is posting pictures of their furbabies I thought I would post mine

Is he seriously cute or what?? His name is Billabong and I found him on the internet. Sadly he is not really mine, as DH is allergic to every animal on the planet. So he just sits quietly in my picture file on the computer and I pull it up whenever I need to look at his cute little puppy face :goodvibes

Seriously cute puppy :lovestruc

Hi Sandy

:welcome: aboard. We are Mary and DH Stevie from Scotland. This will be our 9th Disney cruise. We did the WBTA last year and it was amazing :)

We've been following that on and off every time we are at WDW, I think we were there when the body had been discovered. Thanks for the heads up, I will google it to see the outcome!

I picked up the scrapbooking borders and matching chipboard stickers for you two ladies. Deb I was just going to bring them along on the cruise, would you rather I sent them to you? My DH told me I was a sweetheart for picking them up for you guys ... I just smiled ... yeah it is such a hardship to go scrapbooking shopping with other people's money  .. and also pick up a few more goodies for myself ... cuz I'm just that sweet :rolleyes1

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! :flower3:

Ed is right you are a sweetheart. I have Maltesers on my cruise shopping list for you. :thumbsup2 I just hope they don't melt. :lmao:

I love the piccie of Billabong.....too cute!!!!! :lovestruc At least you don't have the expensive food & vets bills, oh and not to mention picking up the poop. :rotfl2:

Thanks guys for all the kind wishes
It started off as a bad migraine and sore throat on Thursday. Now turns out I've got bad tonsillitis. Apparently haven't got an ear infection aswell but am getting stabbing pains in my right ear, still got the headache, and my glands are so swollen I can't move my neck properly. Plus lost my appetite totally and having trouble keeping what I do eat in.
So off to the doctors again tomorrow to beg them for stronger drugs!

I hope you feel better soon Karen. I can fully sympathise with Tonsillitis, I used to get it every 4-6 weeks when I was young and eventually had my tonsils removed aged 10.

I've not been following the trial too much as it's not on tv here but will be keeping an eye out for the outcome.

We were in Orlando when they found the little girls body. :guilty:

Oh, we (DH and I) have been following it for sure. Since we are moving to FL, and he already lives there -- it's EVERYWHERE there, just crazy. It's on all of the normal TV stations all day long, on the radio, and you hear people talking about it all over at restaurants and such. I just got back from almost two weeks down there...it's SO different from Chicago, where something like this (unfortunately) just wouldn't be as prevelant as it is there because there is so much going on here all the time -- in Orlando, when something happens, it is huge, and they cover it nonstop because there's just not that much going on.

My DH actually worked with one of Casey's friends for a few months earlier this year, her name is Annie (she still comes out with his group sometimes). She was her best friend for a while and knew Caylee (she even has a tatoo of her name on her back, kind of strange). She thought she would have to testify and had given a deposition, but there are lots of stories about why she didn't get called (I heard she may have perjured herself in her deposition), but I think she knows way more than what she said in the deposition! She even wrote a letter to Casey in jail like she still wanted to be friends (after they found Caylee I believe)...she says she doesn't think she's innocent, but i'm not so sure that she doesn't think that...the whole thing is just SO strange.

I've signed up for a verdict alert, so when it comes in, I will get a text!! I follow it on Twitter anyways, I could only watch it on TV for so long because Baez (defense attorney) makes me want to be ill.

thanks for the kind offer, i'll see if i can find some next time i go out :)

FE ALERT!!

colkath2005 (Colette and her DM) asked to be added to all of the FE groups. This means that two of the groups (Barcelona and St. Maarten) are now up to 20 cabins! :woohoo: I've closed out those groups, so if you are in Group Barcelona or St. Maarten, you now have your complete list.

Everyone participating in the FE needs to check their group list to get the info for Colette and her DM - they are actually two separate parties.

The remaining groups have one slot left on each list, except for Port Canaveral (Group 7) which has several spaces. I'll post updates as each group is filled.

Yay! I'm so glad that your anniversary was all you wanted it to be!!! :goodvibes Can't wait to see the photos.

sorry to be a pain pat, i've just counted mine up and i've got 39 rooms. is there any chance i can be the last person in group castaway cay? that'll take me up to 49?

I was wondering if any of you that have previously done the WBTA or EBTA would be willing to share how much you spent onboard over the 14 days. Obviously this will vary based on how much you drink, like to shop, etc, but I am just trying to get a ballpark.

We will be calling DCL in advance to put an OBC onto our shipboard account - we'll get six months 0% interest for doing this using our Disney Visa - so I'd like to preferably prepay as much as possible so it qualifies for the no-interest deal. Not sure how much to tell them to put on the account so I was hoping to gather some data from others.

Thanks - Chris

i think whatever you put on that you dont use, they'll refund back to you anyway. so might as well put too much on, that covers you for whatever you want to spend!
(think the only exception to this is OBC given by DCL, TAs etc)

Chris we won't be much help here as we spend nothing really. Well a Cove Cafe coffee most days and just the one cheap excursion(well for DCL anyway;))for two people. BUT, I had to go to the medical Centre on the second to last day and that cost $940.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Last year we had $200 more OBC too as they gave the Europeans $100 each for booking early. Going to miss that this year.

Silly Karen, you're NOT a pain! You're right - with the "multiples" it did only give you 39. I'll add you to Group CC. There are actually several spaces left in that group. I counted and got 49 total, too, so you should be good to go.
