does anyone know how much the cocktails are, we are trying to budget how much we will need to load onto our fairfx card, thanks

I just read something today about them being between $7-8 Susie...or that might of been beer....I am reading too many threads I've lost the plot!

I remember them being more in the $5-6 range. I was tempted by those yummy frozen concoctions every night at dinner, and I gave in every time! Zero self-control here.

For those folks that have cruised DCL before, what is your opinion of the wine packages that you can buy? Are they worth it, or is it better to stock up in Barcelona and Gibraltar and BYOB to dinner and pay corkage? :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1

We like to do a bit of both, wine package and a few nights of BYOB. It makes it a bit more special just to choose a bottle at the table that compliments what you have chosen to eat on the night, especially on the formal/semi-formal evenings, without carrying a bottle around for dinner when you are all glammed up :lmao:

I hope I don't like them cocktails too much Mmm I might have to re-mortgage :lmao:

That's good, I didn't want to be the only one. :thumbsup2

I am still trying to decide whether or not to go with a wine package as Lee doesn't drink wine at all & I like to try the different speciality cocktails they have on the menu each night. So this maybe a good compromise for me as I will have wine in the room anyway. :goodvibes

Claire, you could always just get a 3 or 4 night package for the whole trip and get any half bottles saved for another night:thumbsup2

thats great thanks, had to laugh at the cheap drinks being brought round at 9 in the morning, think we will be giving those a miss or i will never see dinner lol

Or at least a mid morning nap :upsidedow

I don't know if I will even be up at that time :lmao: :rotfl2:

I always feel guilty when I have a lie in while on holiday...lol's

This is John signing on for the first time.

welcome John, you have done a fab job on the website:thumbsup2

p.s Noel remember not to say any bad things about John anymore as he will see them;)

Sarah, How did Ellie's Christening (or should I say communion :lmao: ) go today? I hope Father Jack did a good job. :rotfl2:

claire we had a great day, canon jack was surprisingly a pleasure, very funny though, he missed out a chunk of service, the part
"do you reject satan" but we had a good laugh about it. We had christening dinner where we got married, Lodge on Loch lomond, its a beautiful setting and we wanted ellie to have a connection to lodge on loch as all our other children were at our wedding:lovestruc

I know this probably won't help, but I'll be going through Baton Rouge in about 3 weeks... What a silly solution they suggested to you - were they not even looking at the delivery address? :confused3 But if you decide to go pick up your package, PM me and we'll take you out to dinner in New Orleans. :thumbsup2

thanx for the offer, dinner would of been great;) but zazzle customer service has been excellent, i sent them copy of email from postal service and they mailed back and said they will mark it as "lost in transition" and resend tshirts:thumbsup2

Hmmm - now the question is classic vs premium! :) I figure getting the 7 night package would suffice for 14 nights.

Same here, in fact most nights I tried one of each! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Well that would finish our formal outfits off quite nicely......would you like a brown paper bag for that bottle? :lmao:

Yes but the problem is I don't do halves. ;) To quote an advert "once you pop you just can't stop". :rotfl2:

Awww that's great to hear Sarah and how lovely to have it where you got married, I know how stressed you were about it all so i'm glad it went well.

Glad they sorted your t-shirt's out. :thumbsup2

My take on the wine will likely be this .... we will buy few bottles in Barcelona / Gibraltar for our own consumption .. but on the first night of the cruise we will buy a bottle of red ( Tony ) and white ( me ) and when we have finished that we will bring in a glass from our own supply for a couple of nights. Then we will buy another bottle each and carry on like that, so we will vary between glasses and bottles.

I usually have a fruity cocktail drink about 4 - 5pm and I am partial to a glass of bubbly or another cocktail before dinner but don't tend to have anything other than wine WITH dinner.

After dinner somethimes we like a glass of bubbly up on deck, under the stars :cloud9:

If I have anything alcoholic earlier than late afternoon ( ie lunchtime ) it will generally be beer :drinking1

Gosh .. I sound like a right old boozer :rotfl2::rotfl2:
