I think we definately have enough for a Tartan Army now! Maybe we could organise a pre-cruise get together some time this summer?

That sounds a fabbie idea :cool1: Can we do it early Summer before we go off to WDW in late July? :thumbsup2

Hi, yeah we remember chatting to you and Nicole remembers rachel:)

Sounds like tartan army totally:rotfl2:

Col

I thought I remembered you after I discovered the girls were friends. We met some fantastic people on the Dover repo last year that we still keep in touch with, but the crowd on here are an amazing bunch, this cruise is gonna be a hoot :cool1:

We're right there with ya!! I figure I could put Sarah on my shoulders and let her practice drumming on the ceiling ;)

So is one recommended over the other --- the rock versus Point Europa? I'm thinking our girls will enjoy seeing the monkeys (we saw lots in Barbados while doing a land vacation there). :confused3 We are with the DIS Dolphin group in the morning

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I'll borrow my friends' Rock n Roller Coaster drumsticks for the occasion and then Sarah can let rip

:rockband:

:lmao: Thats what I was thinking of when I posted it but I couldn't remember his name.

Same here, I'm glad Karen remembered his name :thumbsup2

Right that's it .... I amd definitely packing my tap shoes !!! Watch out deck 5 !!

I think we have started something now :rotfl2:

party: :jumping1:

Wow, everyone seems to be on deck 6. I guess DH and I will be all alone on deck 7.

I'll happily trade up for my usual Cat 10 cabin on deck 7 on the Magic, been in it so many times, it's mine :lmao:

Wow, everyone seems to be on deck 6. I guess DH and I will be all alone on deck 7.

:yay::yay::yay: noooooooo we are on deck 7, so we need to join forces with deck 5 and beat that riverdance lot. We have them in a sandwich so there's no escape:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

but somehow I think we may be outnumbered:rotfl2::rotfl2::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband::rockband:
so maybe we should just make the music for deck six to dance too!!

I love Tangled too - they did such a wonderful job with the story don't you think? I made my husband go with me twice to see it in the theater and am secretly hoping that we'll see it a third time on the big screen on the Magic.

We loved it too, that would be great to see it on the Magic!

Hi All

Men in kilts - I think it's because any man who wears a kilt is secure with who he is and proud of it. :thumbsup2 That's very attractive! In fact, any type of formal wear is sexy because it's so elegant. It shows they're willing to make a little extra effort to look good for us. Gotta love that!

I have a thing for men in hats (real hats; baseball caps don't count). Dennis has a collection of fedoras that he wears all the time. He looks so classy. All the women at his office think he's very cool with his hats!

Pat, I totally agree with you, men in formal wear are very very handsome :lovestruc

My first thoughts of your DH in his mess dress was Richard Gere / An Officer and a Gentleman, now I'm thinking Harrison Ford / Indiana Jones :lovestruc

You'll need to post a pic of Dennis in one of his Fedoras, will he be wearing one on holiday?

Karen I didn't realise you were on the Dover repo as well, I don't know if we crossed paths or not :)

were you on the barcelona to dover or the return one? we were on the june repo, got a last minute deal and it was too good to pass up!

We loved Gilbraltar when we were there last year. We tried to get up on the rock but the lines were so backed up that they had to cancel our tour.

we'll probably do the dolphin excursion if theres still room, then head to morrisons and then back to the ship, i've been to gibraltar twice now and to be honest, i personally dont think its that great

Add four more to the Deck 6 Riverdance team! We're in 6071!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

yay, dance part-AY!!!!!!

Just call my room when you are ready and we'll all make one big line down your hallway and go to it! :lmao::lmao: Thanks for the video....I've got a couple of months to practice and that video of expert dancers will help me out tremendously!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

thought the visual aid would help!!

Right that's it .... I amd definitely packing my tap shoes !!! Watch out deck 5 !!

even though we're surrounded, the deck 6 gang will kick everyone else's butt!! you may have us surrounded but we still outnumber you!!

We were on the return leg Dover to Barcelona, we couldn't pass it up either, DCL docking in the UK, just had to be done  Only having to fly to London to get the Magic was amazing, we stayed with my friend in Loughton the night before and she drove us down to Dover in the morning. She was amazed at how excited we were on seeing the ship, she couldn't believe I was filling up, sad I know :rotfl:

As for us deck 5 roomies being outnumbered, we need to call in all the help from the back up troops in the nursery, lab and also anyone in the cinema :lmao:

we were on the barcelona to dover, had an amazing time and it was so convenient getting off the ship and being able to be home within two hours.

Well it was something like an episode of Cops here last night.........

We had someone break into our house whilst we were IN!!! :scared1: They were hiding out, I assume waiting for us to go to bed so he could rob us. I have never been so scared in all my life, Lee detained the *@/?>~*! whilst I called the police. The police were fab & arrived within five minutes and arrested him, we then had three hours worth of taking statements, photos etc.

Have to wait to hear from them today to see if they need to come and take finger prints etc......

Who needs sleep, eh? We gto to bed after 2am and I didn't sleep a wink after all that!!!

Thank you all for your messages.

I've just had the Police call with an update that he has been interviewed and said that he was homeless and looking for somewhere to sleep, his solicitor has told him not to say anything else.....well they know he is lying as his fingerprints match another burglary, so he is well and truely screwed. They said he would have had accomplices nearby, so he was definately hiding waiting for us to go to bed. I don't think i'll ever sleep again.

It is going to court so we now have to sit and wait....she also told me to congratulate Lee as he has a nice big shiner on his eye.

To have the audacity to just wait in hiding till you go to bed, just blows me away. Many years ago my husband and I heard our door bell ring while we were .. ehem .. busy in the bedroom  Of course we ignored it, but moments later we heard a loud noise like wood splitting, and realizing what was happening my husband jumped out of bed, grabbed his underwear, and brazenly opened the door on our would-be intruder. The guy turned tail and ran, but DH hesitated a moment about running outside in underwear, then gave chase, but the guy was light years ahead of him, and got away. The guy was trying to pry open our front door with a crow bar .. in the middle of the day! To this day I still worry about not answering the door bell, wondering if someone with a crowbar is on the other side

I hope your nerves are more settled, I'm sure having an alarm system helps.

... If past cruises are anything to go by, I could walk throught the ship naked and no one would notice because they are all looking at the boys :confused3
:laughing::laughing:

Wow, everyone seems to be on deck 6. I guess DH and I will be all alone on deck 7.

We're on deck 7 aft :goodvibes

We did the stingrays a few years ago. It was kinda of cool to touch them and feed them.

We are also on deck 7... :cool1::cool1:

Can anyone tell me where the laundry room is on deck 7?

We're on deck 7 too. :cool1::cool1:

It's starboard, across from 7590 - about 10 rooms forward of the aft stairs/elevators.

We're on deck 5, just aft of the lifeboats. According to the deck plan in my PassPorter guide, the sideways staterooms are forward on Deck 6. So feel free to make all the noise you want!! :rotfl:

Check out the new Hyatt Visa. As we understand it, there is no currency exchange fee, plus you get two free nights at ANY Hyatt property worldwide. There are some in the Park Hyatt chain that are well over $500+ per night for a basic room.

Check the fine print on that. There's a $75 annual fee. Annual fees are against my religion.

Actually, he bought an Indiana Jones hat on our last trip to the Studios! I have no doubt he'll bring at least one (if not several) of his hats on the trip. Dennis and hats are like me and shoes. In fact, one item I used to entice him on this trip is the fact that there are a couple of old-fashioned hat shops in Barca, near Placa Catalunya. You should've seen his eyes light up when I told him that.

Oh, and An Officer and a Gentleman was Navy. Dennis was Air Force. You don't want to confuse the two! ;)

Now children, let's play nicely. Remember we're all here to have fun together.

Yep - we're doing it for one year. Looking at it as "$75 for two nights at an awesome hotel". :thumbsup2 It will be cancelled well in advance of the yearly fee renewal, but gets us through the cruise for the exchange fees perk.

Not a bad idea. Kind of what I used to do back in the days of 0% interest.

About the currency, we just usually get the local currency from the ATMs in different countries. We only buy Euros at home if the conversion rate seems good at the time. Just remember to notify your bank & credit card companies that you'll be in those countries.

We loved it too, that would be great to see it on the Magic!

We watched A LOT of movies on the TA last year, so we'll probably do the same in Sept. That theater is just so nice - you really get a first row spot.

We're so glad, here in Ukraine the movies only play in Ukrainian, and we've learned Russian. Our last theatre movie was Toy Story 3 in Paris last September! Can't wait for September !!! :dance3:

We didn't get up the rock last year because of high winds ... hopefully we will this time. My schedule for Gib is the dolphin trip, followed by a trip in the Cable Car up the Rock, followed by a bit of shopping.

We loved it too, that would be great to see it on the Magic!

WE are deliberately avoiding seeing Tangled so we can see it in board the Magic. We won't be able to avoid Pirates 4 though, as we will be there on the first day to see that ... can't wait pirate:pirate: I'm sure we will see it on the ship a few more times though.

we'll probably do the dolphin excursion if theres still room, then head to morrisons and then back to the ship, i've been to gibraltar twice now and to be honest, i personally dont think its that great

Don't forget to PM me about the dolphin trip :thumbsup2

WE have fed stingrays in Discovery Cove but not in Castaway Cay. It was quite a unique experience and we enjoyed doing it.

Thats the sort of thing I do ... pick up a new credit card for the joining benefits :thumbsup2

For those in the UK .... the best credit cards to use are those without currency exchange charges and the ones I use are:

Europe - Nationwide
USA and to settle on the ship - Santander Zero and Post Office.

I also take euros for Barcelona as we like to leave the Credit Card in the safe and some US dollars for tips etc and small purchases in the US.
