The ship now has a set of two "wave phones," cell phones for use on the ship, provided in your room. No extra charge unless you lose them. They swirl nicely for voice or text.

I have read reports they are very good, but I think you will be charged $250 if you lose one, and they will not work at the ports of call only on the ship:):)

Thanks for sharing the cake! Birthday cake has to be one of my most favorite desserts :cloud9:

We had a huge hailstorm early yesterday - 70 mph winds, mostly golf-ball size hail but some up to 3 inches in diameter. We must get new gutters, new roof, and possibly new fence. About half a mile away, residents lost several windows on each home. My nextdoor neighbor lost a window, and another a few houses down, but not like the other neighborhood. It hit us all of a sudden, and was unlike anything ANY of us had ever experienced before. It really sounded like a team of jackhammers got on the roof and were pounding away at the roof and windows. Curt and I could barely hear each other. Every home in our development must get a new roof. :(

Oh Mandy that storm sounds scary! I am sorry to hear that you need a new roof - will your insurance cover something like that? What a mess.

Our hotel was near Parc de Cuitadella last summer too and we walked down to see the Arc de Triumphe too. Gaudi's Cascada fountain in the Parc was absolutely gorgeous too and not to be missed. The fountain was absolutely breaktaking, I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was and just stood there for about 10 mins mesmerised :cloud9:

Thanks for the tip! When looking at where our hotel is, the Parc is a bit far, so depending on the feet of the other people in my party for our May cruise (husband, mom, sister and brother in law) hopefully we can check it out!

Yes that is true on both counts, although they also work on Castaway Cay. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Lee would hate it if I started playing & took over his xbox. :lmao:

gary does!

sounds scary, at least no one was hurt, belongings and property can be replaced and repaired, people dying cant be.

I was a CoD widow, so I thought it was either join in or be left out..so I joined in, he certainly didn't expect me to like it as much as I did:rotfl2:

For anybody that would like a piece of cake - help yourself:)

ditto, i wanted to see what it was all about, so i started having a go. i sucked at first. couldnt get the hang of the controls so at first it was a lot of standing around getting shot. but im getting a lot better at it. i can hold my own now :)

that cake looks delicious. between that and ace of cakes on the tv, i really want cake now!

I love Epic Mickey :thumbsup2

whats that like anyway? we sell it at work but i've never actually figured out what the whole story line and point of the game is

Just be mindful of your surroundings and your belongings and you should have no problems

Hope this helps, don't be put off by the pickpocket issue, it's a lovely city, you just need to take care

unfortunately, thats true of a LOT of places these days. i think as long as you're sensible and dont flaunt your best diamonds and valuables, you should be ok.

Yummm fab looking cake Michelle.....thanks for making me hungry. :lmao:

Tony likes playing all those role playing war games ...not my thing though ... I prefer SuperMario and I love Epic Mickey :thumbsup2

I used to love SuperMario & Sonic the Hedgehog. :thumbsup2

Not played Epic Mickey, what's it like?

mmm thanks for the cake Michelle :) I hope Stephanie has had a lovely day despite the PS3 hiccup :)

Okay - the DISboards finally behaved long enough so I could upload the tshirt photo graphics I used. These should work better than the Facebook photos because Facebook always compresses. These are the generic, unpersonalized photos. I do not remember which DISigner created which one, but ALL came from the shared files linked from members on the DISign forum. Right click, save as to your computer, then create tshirts and magnets! If you want them personalized, you would need to find the original creator from the board by going through each DISigner's link in their siggie, and going from there. One DISigner I really like is on a break from DISigning, and some may be her's. (I had been looking at these for several months, and any time I came across one I liked, I just downloaded it and put it in a DCL folder on my computer. Now I have LOTS in that folder, but no clue where they came from...)

ETA: I googled the file name with each photo just now, and if I found where the original file came from, I listed the link with the photo details (so you can see in the link which DISigner it may be...)

VistaPrint did the $4.75 shirts (printing on front only) plus $5 to print on back. It was a sale that I have found again, and it also offered free uploads. So basically, a tshirt was $9.75 plus shipping (for a white shirt; add $3 for gray)

I have also now tried iron-on transfers from AmyMickey.com and am pleased. I prewashed, did the iron-on, waited 24 hrs, then washed. Of course, the first time my baby wore her's, we got butternut squash puree on it, so it now has some character. ;)

I am hoping this link works to where I uploaded the photos.

Fantastic t-shirts Mandy :thumbsup2

Hi Claire, thank you for the birthday wishes, I'll be sure to pass them on.

Belated :bday: birthday wishes from us too, I hope Stephanie had a lovely day :cool1:

Just on my way to Costco to pick her cake up.

Costco do the best birthday cakes ever :lovestruc I'm getting one for DH's birthday on Easter Sunday. MIL and SIL are coming up from Edinburgh to see him for his birthday, and are getting one from Costco for me and bringing it up with them :thumbsup2 the squidy balloons are my favourite :rotfl2:

Glad to hear everyone was okay and just the properties were damaged. Hope you have a speedy resolve with the insurance company pixiedust:

Didn't you know ... birthday cake is always fat free, as are ALL cakes served on cruise ships :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Not played Epic Mickey, what's it like?

I'd like to know if it's any good too, I was wondering whether to buy it for DD

unfortunately, thats true of a LOT of places these days. i think as long as you're sensible and dont flaunt your best diamonds and valuables, you should be ok.

I've gotten into the habit of not wearing my rings on city breaks or some port days that have a bad reputation for pickpockets.

I remember being on the train from central Paris to DLP a few years ago and a bit of an undesireable chap spooked me and was eyeing up my engagement and wedding rings. I swiftly turned them the wrong way round for the rest of the day, so only the gold bands were showing :sad2:

Just finished making some "calorie free" brocolli and cauliflour soup ... surprisingly scrummy :thumbsup2

8 weeks today we will be on the Magic for 10 nights of culinary delights..... I really need to get in shape for that now or I am doomed :rotfl2:

:):) wow that sounds great, almost gave me a shock though because I've not started my diet yet and i thought i'd miscounted !. You are so brave two cruise's so close together, it may take more than brocoli and cauliflour soup if it was me.
So we will have the insider gen on any changes on the magic.....not long now then:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: so eat more soup it will be worth it !!!

We have it. It is pretty fun. We have it for Wii, which may make it slightly different with the controls and game interaction. It was Game of the Year last year, I got it for Christmas. I have enjoyed playing it. It is a good story based first person game, where you play Mickey and you have to recolor this world, solve puzzles, and fight bad guys, like a Mario Galaxy type interface, if that is any reference.

It takes some coordination and puzzle solving skills and with the Wii even more coordination, but it is a lot of fun.

:banana::banana:Hi does anybody have any information about the exercise classes that the magic offers. What’s the spin class like and what does it cost, do you have to book early in the cruise?
:thumbsup2 I fear I will need to do a few classes to counteract all the lovely food I will eat.:rotfl2:
Margaret

As far as I know the exercise classes are all free and you just turn up. I don't know why I know as I have never been and don't intend to!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Back to trip planning...just got my hand luggage today:)
I got me one of these Here

Did it taste as great as it looked? That's one thing I miss here, the cakes look really nice but don't taste very good. This one reminds me of Black Forest Cake, mmmmmmmmmmmm. :rotfl:

Love the luggage!

Glad you are all fine! Hope the repairs go quickly for you.

Also, we find those of us from North America tend to talk louder than nationals and then we stand out. We've lived here 6 years and we've worked really hard to quiet down, which has helped us keep out of the pickpocket radar. :woohoo:

Is anyone interested in joining us for a Barcelona tour leaving from the airport after arrival on 9/9? We arrive very early (redeye flight) at 7:30 and cannot check into hotel until 2:00, so we are looking at a tour with Pepito Tours. The cost can be shared, as it is 395 Euro for a group of 6. This is the company Noel has used and recommends.

DH has taken the spin classes. There is a book in the gym used for sign up, but there are lots of units available so capacity didn't seem to be an issue if you hadn't signed up in advance. As Marilyn said, there is no fee. DH cycles a lot and he found that the instructor he had really pushed them hard, it wasn't an easy workout.

SO I am on my bike last night, I finally got back to exercising, and I am watching food network, dumb I know while exercising, but what is the host making but banoffee pie, she called it banoffee mess, and I thought of all you Brits out there and the picture someone posted a week or so ago. She was making all British pub foods. Bangers & mash, cheddar and beer soup. How ironic. Looked exactly like the picture that was posted. She made the toffee by putting a can of sweetened condensed milk directly on the stove for 3 hours. I thought it was so ironic having never heard of it before to seeing it twice in a few weeks. I may just have to try it. My DH loves bananas. Just had to share.

What's your favorite spa treatment on board?

For me its the Elemis Exotic Hand Ritual with Manicure and Elemis Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure.

I always have them running together so it is 100 mins of pure pampering and relaxation.

It's a must for the start of every cruise it just wipes away the major stress I have to organise my caseload before I leave and you get gorgeous hands, feet and nails for the cruise.

Mind you, I do need to go back for a fingernail re-paint on week 2 as the sanitising wipes turn the french manicure yellow after a week :lmao: I was only charged about $15 plus tip for the re-paint last WBTA which is fantastic and half of the price of home :thumbsup2

Margaret, I watched the spinning class in the morning when I was on the treadmill, it was some workout :scared1: it would definitely keep the lbs at bay if you did that regularly ::yes::
