Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

Yeah, switching to vgt wouldn't have saved us any money.... We booked this on board....

Yes we originally booked 11a with rooms on deck 9 then we got placed as 9gty and now finally I can relax and prepare!
posted from FE thread!!!:woohoo:

ROOMS HOORAY!!!!!!

We are on 2nd floor and 2500 and 2502 408sqft connecting is SAAAAWEEET!!! I am all about the space and connecting cabins with three kiddos!!! We originally booked standard insides to begin with 11a then got to 9B. Also love floor two FWd on other boat so I am super happy!!!! I am ready!!!!! I had wanted 8a rooms but they were gone by the time I booked. I am not a balcony person just yet with my children having their own cabin space and really would have loved the 8A rooms but I am still:love: !!!

For those who might not have seen my post on the FE thread, I'm looking for each childs favorite Disney character or movie, and then the adults or family's favorite character or movie. Thanks.

I love being able to run upstairs to deck 3 and grab seats in front for the shows... We sit down front for the action!:rolleyes1

So now that many of us are over the room assignment anticipation ... Want to play a little "get to know you" game ? I figure its fun, we will learn about each other, and it is a way to pass time.

If you want to play just answer the following - then we can all have fun discussing ... 15 questions LOL because trying to think of 20 hurt my brain

1. What state and / or country are you from?
2. Who are you cruising with ? (friends, kids, family etc ... no need to get specific unless you want to)
3. How many cruises have you taken?
4. What is your fav cruise line. Explain
5. What activity(ies) do you most look forward to on this cruise?
6. Fav dining room on any ship ?
7. What dining room to you most look forward to on this ship?
8. Fav cruise and/or vacation food?
9. Any vacation "traditions"?
10. Do you get seasick?
11. What/When was your last vacation?
12. Most Memorable/Fav vacation
13. Do you work, and if so what do you do?
14. If you were given a FREE day to do whatever you wanted to - what would you do with your free time?
15. What is your intention posting on this roll call (ie: precruise excitement chat, meeting friends to spend time with on board, looking for people to share excursions etc ...)

1. What state are you from? New Jersey

2. Who are you cruising with ? (friends, kids, family etc ... no need to get specific unless you want to) family: husband and two kids

3. How many cruises have you taken? This will be our third

4. What is your fav cruise line. Explain We have only sailed DCL thus far

5. What activity(ies) do you most look forward to on this cruise?Having some adult time while the kids play. Hoping that I get to do more activies such as karaoke, dance parties etc. We didn't do much of that on our last 2

6. Fav dining room on any ship ? On the Dream I loved the food in Animators the best. The show was neat too.

7. What dining room to you most look forward to on this ship? Hoping to score a Remy lunch !! If not then I am looking forward to eating at Palo again

8. Fav cruise and/or vacation food?Pizza and cookies before bed :rotfl: My fav "real" food was Arugula Leaves and Grilled Vegetable Salad Topped with sliced Beef Tenderloin, Marjoram, Bacon, and Ranch Dressing from Animator's

9. Any vacation "traditions"? we seem to have a tradition of pizza and cookies before bed on our cruises :)

10. Do you get seasick? no but I do get a little landsick post cruise

11. What/When was your last vacation? In April we went to the Poconos for a week. It was quite low key and fun

12. Most Memorable/Fav vacation This is difficult. All of our WDW vacations are memorable in their own way. It is the same with our two Dream cruises. I really can't pick a favorite although our 4 night Dream in Jan 2012 is probably ahead by a nose :)

13. Do you work, and if so what do you do? I do, I work for another cruise news / message boards website :)

14. If you were given a FREE day to do whatever you wanted to - what would you do with your free time?I would sleep in. Followed by coffee. I would want to go get a massage and perhaps do lunch with a friend or my dh. Maybe take a drive to the beach, or some other local place and play tourist. I would really just relish not having a schedule to stick to or kids/dog to tend to

15. What is your intention posting on this roll call (ie: precruise excitement chat, meeting friends to spend time with on board, looking for people to share excursions etc ...) I think I am a combo of sharing pre-cruise excitement and also making some friends to perhaps spend some time with once we are on board. Last trip our son spent a few hours each night playing in the club and we kind of just roamed from place to place not sure what to do LOL

If you want to play just answer the following - then we can all have fun discussing ... 15 questions LOL because trying to think of 20 hurt my brain

1. What state and / or country are you from?

Illinois originally (near St.Louis), then 7 1/2 years at Eglin AFB, Fl, and then the last 7 years in the DC area.

2. Who are you cruising with ? (friends, kids, family etc ... no need to get specific unless you want to)

Family: husband and 3 kids

3. How many cruises have you taken?

This will be our second
4. What is your fav cruise line. Explain

Disney, it's the only line we've been on and/or have wanted to do thus far.

5. What activity(ies) do you most look forward to on this cruise?

Having some time away from kids without feeling guilty. Going to the spa and rainforest room and dressing up for formal night ( I always liked playing Barbie)

6. Fav dining room on any ship ?

Animators palate on the magic

7. What dining room to you most look forward to on this ship?

Palo, haven't tried it yet

8. Fav cruise and/or vacation food?

Fresh fruit, I am a huge fruit person (love edible arrangements) so I love having lots of options and not having to clean and cut the fruit myself.

9. Any vacation "traditions"?

We always get a postcard from every where we've been, and I make a vacation photo book online of every where and have them displayed in my living room. My kids love looking through them. We have been looking at our prior Disney cruise one a lot recently, except my youngest (who I just found out I was pregnant with the week before we sailed) keeps asking where he is. Lol

10. Do you get seasick?

I did one on a dolphin cruise when I was pregnant with my daughter and I was nervous on the last cruise that I would being pregnant again but I didn't nor did any one else in my family. My kids and I do get car sick if we read or do any electronics, so I always carry Dramamine.

11. What/When was your last vacation?

2010 we rented a beach house in the outerbanks in NC, it was really neat cause they have wild horses that come right up to the houses and you are literally on the beach.

12. Most Memorable/Fav vacation

2007 eastern carribean Disney cruise

13. Do you work, and if so what do you do?

I have run a daycare in my home for the last 13 years (hence wanting some time away from kids) and my husband does network security

14. If you were given a FREE day to do whatever you wanted to - what would you do with your free time?

Well if it was your wildest wish (genie lamp rub), it would be to spend one more day with my grandma who passed away 3 years ago. There was so many things I forgot to ask thinking there would always be another time. Now for more realistic and less depressing, I would love to spend the day in some seaside town in Europe (Venice, Malta, etc) just looking at the sights, talking to locals, and of course sampling local fare.

15. What is your intention posting on this roll call (ie: precruise excitement chat, meeting friends to spend time with on board, looking for people to share excursions etc ...)

To meet people and learn tips. I just learned about these boards this year and I have learned so much. We are also going to Disney world for the first time the week before the cruise and this board has helped me tremendously in preparing. I also had the chance to meet and become close to rebecca (luvmy2kids) and know we will be life long friends. I cant wait to meet the rest of you. I love to read and this is kind of like reading a novel and getting a chance to meet the characters themselves. Except I guess there won't be a Fabio. Lmao

How fun, I'm game.

So, where are you staying while at WDW ? What kind of plans have you made for that part of the trip ?

We are staying at disney's port Orleans and coming in on Sunday. We will do downtown Disney on Sunday, Epcot on Monday, my kids are doing the yes program on Tuesday at Hollywood studios, then we'd is magic kingdom and Thursday animal kingdom. Friday we just decided to stay at best western cocoa beach. If u stay there you get a 40% off coupon at the port authority parking garage. We were going to park offsite, but with the coupon it ends up only being like 20-25 more and we don't have to worry about a shuttle. The day we get back from the cruise we are doing Kennedy space center. We got free tickets from our congressman. So it's a pretty busy trip. We are doing the drive (13 hrs) over 2 days. We live off exit 95, so it's a straight shot down. Do you guys have any plans before or after.
