Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

We have always stayed at the Radisson for the pool however since we are coming in later I snatched a room on hotwire at La Quinta Inn and friends of ours switched to the hotel because they have the park n stay rates as well and a shuttle..... Plus Shirley from threads gave it an ok so I feel pretty good about it even though we have never tried anywhere else....:scratchin

Thank you for the feed back. I've done a little more research and learned that even if you don't stay at the radisson you can park there .... It's a little more expensive ($50 per car vs. $35) but if you have a cheaper hotel it might work out to be a better deal.

I'm kind of confused and disappointed. I thought gty and VGT were the same thing. I would have waited for VGT if I had known, or picked the category I really wanted. It's significantly cheaper and now I think I am stuck. Oh well. Going to have a great trip anyway. Just an awful lot of spending money down the tubes.

I too am rethinking how I sail because I might be a jump onboard kinda girl if this is how rates will appear in future.....:confused3

Thanks for the tip. We did the same thing when we went on a cruise that left out of Miami. It was fun for the kids to arrive in a limo....we had one of those big hummer limos.

We did the hummer limo one year!!!!!:thumbsup2 What time does your flight get in on Fri night?

Ok so here's a question back at you guys that have taken a limo service to the port. What limo services do you recommen??

So we called our travel agent today to see if we could rebook for a Vgt and they said we could and we would be saving 450 but the cat 8a that we booked is much bigger then the veranda what do u guys think??

Well... Do you want a verandah or more space? We decided we'd rather a verandah so we changed our 8c gty to a 7a

It would fit into a reg verandah... It would be tight though if u kept it up all day.... Also fwiw, with an 8a gty... You may not get an 8a.... You could get upgraded to any category higher...including a smaller rm that has a verandah

We had a 5D on the dream. If you don't use the couch as a bed, it could fit next to it, but it would block the verandah door. I would go with the extra space.

I think I may go with a verandah if you little one is a napper or goes to bed early....somewhere for you to go and enjoy the view ;)

This is our problem we also have our 6 yr old so the couch would get used as a bed and my lil one naps but she has power naps that are like 20mins lol but we talked to the travel agent and he said we would most likely get a 8a solo I dunno lol would be good in the sense for our 6yr old cuz she would have her own space.....maybe we should call back and see if we get our room number and they are still offering the vgt if we can switch :confused3 I hope for all old us we get them on Monday :earboy2:

I've only done a limo once and it was in Miami it was called a1 limo service. They were reasonable and one time....overall I would use them again.

To all the men on our cruise, do you plan on dressing in a tux for formal night. I'm trying to get a census on the varying degrees of dress for formal night.

I'm coming to the boards late as we only booked about a month Ago. We have nine, so far, traveling in our party. Myself, dh, twin ds(almost three). Our friends and their ds (almost three). And my parents. My dh and I will be celebrating our seventh anniversary as we sail away from port canaveral (or perhaps as we drive away from WDW that morning). Anyone know anything we can do as a family to "celebrate"? My dh and I don't want to leave the boys out of celebrating!! Also I'm curious if a consensus on the tux was reached? Dh will want to know! 49 days!!! Can't wait!!!

Meets on the first day before the drill are good - maybe we should try to arrange an additional on either the first sea day - or after dinner the first night as well, that way we can try to accommodate everyone. If someone has never sailed DCL before, trying to get everything you need to get done and getting to a meet before the drill can seem intimidating I bet :)

Also, at least for us doing the FE, there will be a listing of all room #'s. You can use those #'s to send a text via the wave phone, if anyone ever wanted to do an impromptu meet - like say you find yourself hanging in the tube or something one night while the kiddies are clubbin it... If anyone thinks that this list is a good idea maybe we can try to compile a list of room #'s for anyone who is interested in keeping in contact this way ... just an idea

You can text on the wave phones??? That's cool

So excited for our cruise can't wait to check in on Monday I don't think we are doing any excursions because we have a baby and they can't go on much......oh well more time to enjoy the ship! I'm all I'm for a meet I know for the other meet thread they are talking about one too.

We are in same boat. Naptime interferes with most port time. Okay with me though!

My DH and ds just purchased VERY nice black suits.. They figured they could use them at more functions. Class reunion coming up in October for hubby, Also, funerals (sorry to be so bleak)...
They really did think about a tux though......salesperson really steered them both to the nice black suits for versatility. I think they made a good choice.. Basically, I think it boils down what they want and I would look to see which they would get more use of;-)

For formal hubby has a suit. Right now I only have cocktail type dresses in varying degrees of fanciness.... Maybe I'll get a long dress...

I think that will make the men (maybe not my dad as he is more traditional) very happy
