Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

Just sent DD for the mail. They are here!!!! I'm more excited than she is. Apparently a cruise that's still more than a month away can't compare to water day at VBS today. But I don't have water day, so cruise docs are enough for me!!

JennLK, yes, I will be running the 5K. I've restarted training so I can run the whole thing (I haven't run in a couple of months. Ummmm...since my last Disney cruise. Oops.). I figure the weather in Florida is similar enough to the Bahamas that I should be ok. Right? ;)

I did the C25K program last year - and I run/jog now but not with any regularity now - but I really want to do it - even if I end up power walking it :)

Our son is so impatient - he had a mini meltdown this am because he didn't want to wait for his turn on the cruise anymore - he wanted to go today :)

My daughter is the same way. We booked more than a year ago and asked DD if she wanted to go on the "big Mickey boat" and of course she was ready to go right then and there. She melted when we said next year. So we've tried to avoid talking to her about it but every now and then someone will slip and ask her if she is excited and we have another major melt down that we aren't leaving right then and there.

My two youngest do not know!!!:goodvibes

I have a hard time keeping secrets...lol. I wanted to do that with my daughter but I couldn't help myself...I had to tell her!

On another note....I got part of my cruise docs in the mail today :dance3:(for one room) waiting on the others (we have 5 rooms in all):(.

Got our Docs yesterday, and received another upgrade!!! Were now in room 9144. Just have to update the FE list.

We won't be far from each other ;)

Since several of you are doing the Ruin tour in Costa Maya by Native Choice, it's making me rethink my DCL reservation. It would save me $75 to go with Native Choice over DCL. My concern is the short amount of time we are actually in port. What happens if the tour is late for some unforeseen reason? I would love to save the money but it scares me a little. We are not getting passports either just because of the cost of them.

I debated too, but ultimately decided that Ivan grew up their and knows how much time it will take, plus the fantasy has been going their since April. So enough time to work out kinks. I also think that the bulk of his business comes from referrals and dis boards and cruise critic. It is vital to him to make sure one of his clients doesn't have a bad experience (like getting left behind) and put a bad review.

So.... The pirate excursion in GC was cancelled on us ;(. Any suggestions on what else we an do with a 3 year old and 12 year old

My family is doing the snorkel tour with native way. We are snorkeling with stingrays, snorkeling at coral beach and then with starfish. I have a 4 yr old son, a 9 year old daughter and a 15 yr old son. Luvmy2kids is going with her family and she also has a 9 yr old and 14 yr old. I purchased a snorkeling window viewer for my 4 year old as he will be to young to do it traditionally. I got it on amazon for $20 or $30. Hope this helps

Where are u from?

Natives choice does alot of disney cruises. They know the schedule . And from what I read the captain stays longer in that port to give the crew some time off.

This is a scary thing to count on!! LOL You NEVER know if a boat will stay longer at a port and It has NEVER been in GC and it was not when we went to Costa Maya... Only COZUMEL is place where boat has stayed until later in evening for the crew to party a bit!!! ;) Cozumel is place for great fun for crew and Cayman is tender so boat is not going to pay extra for the tender part to be longer and also Costa Maya is not much to do for crew..... Take into account Grand Cayman sometimes will be missed all together due to choppy seas... We have missed GC 2x before:confused3 and had extra day at sea!:)

Without passports I would stick with DCL with short time in port... just my opinion with trip being pretty far inland unless your ENTIRE group is also DCL that booked private then maybe.... I have done Chankanaab on my own the ruins, Nachi Cocum on my own and different beach and dune buggy places. Dune Buggies with DCL were 2 hrs late coming back in Cozumel last year and I didnt get to do any shopping except my Larimar ring:) with 30min to spare .... I grabbed quickly before hurrying back to port....:cool2:

The Disney Magic was going there before the Fantasy so that was not my concern :) I just was more concerned with the shorter port time than what we had when going on the Magic :cool2: I agree they do a great job on the tour and it is fun!!! MAKE sure you take bug spray!!!:goodvibes So let me give you an example of my fear due to time constraint was the vehicle breaking down after the tour going a little longer than normal and Disney will not wait unless you are with their excursion... I have always done private non Disney tours with a two hour give or take just like when you fly LOL so if that is the case then you are good... However the ruins are a long excursion and it takes a bus ride to get there and the walking part is atleast an hour and then the little shop and then the ride back :scared: My anxiety would kill me!!!
