i am trying to figure out a way to have a separate magic band for our trips that we would use the no expiration tickets.

Would it be possible to add a family member. Named " tom NE" and link the no expire tickets to that person/band and add another person tom and link the expiring tickets to this band would this solve the issue of prioritizing tickets at the gate.

I just don't trust that it would be done correctly.

That's one way.

2 separate MDE accounts.
A side benefit to this is that, until they close the loophole, you can use the other set (the one NOT used for entry) to book day - of FP at in-park kiosks. Because the in park kiosks, at least for now, don't recognize if a band has been scanned at the gate or not.
For example, u enter using the "Tom" MB. Keep the "Tom2" band, linked to a different account, in your bag. At a FP kiosk, you can book a FP on that Tom2 band (as if it were your 4th).

I would def. name the band's differently, or at least separate colors, to keep them straighy

I wonder how long that loophole will stay. I was thinking of something like that for my December trip.

Does anyone have any better suggestions????
You really don't need two MDE accounts. Add Tom NE to your MDE.

Because Tom NE has an active ticket, you can schedule FPs in advance, which are better than SDFPs, and use the Tom NE MB at FP tapstiles. Don't use this MB at the park entrance.

Tom NE will have the same booking window as your original Tom ticket/MB combo.

Wouldn't TomNE and Tom both need to be a registered guests in the room if they wanted 60-day booking? (If the question is answered in "that other thread", I don't think I ever read past the first page.)
But it sounds like one of the Toms could at least get 30-day prebooking privileges while the other could get a full 60.

The booking window opens for the total MDE account.

Yes, it's addressed in two "other Threads" that address how My Magic+ is set up to operate and how Disney gives "directives" whether true or not.

Most people think the 60 day booking window applies to only those on the room reservations due to packages. Active tickets always have a 30 day window and that window expands to 60 days whenever an onsite reservation check-in is within 60 days.

Thank you for the suggestions. I now have another question. I previously booked a room for Nov and linked it to MDE. Do I now need to call and have Tom NE added to the reservation and remove Tom as that is the ticket I want to use.

If you want Tom NE's MagicBand to work for room access, then Tom NE needs to be listed on the reservation.

I was wondering something similar, because last time I had to get my tickets prioritized, it took almost an hour at DTD. Not a huge deal, but this trip, we are heading straight to the parks. I was wondering if there was a way I could get around this. Since I am already linked, is there anything I can do? I have old NE tickets and a new 4 MYW ticket both linked. I have a room only reservation at Pop. The old ticket can not be reassigned.... but could the new ticket be reassigned to a LaceyNE? I don't mind having to use two bands, one for parks and one for room access. Any suggestions for me? We are 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant. So I could add another adult "LaceyNE" to my reservation, it would just take a phone call to orbitz. My trip is 35 days away if that matters.

I wouldn't need to add this "new person" to the room? It seems like the new magic band that would come would still go to the first person since that is who is on the room? Also, would this cause me to lose the FP+ that I've already made? I wish I had thought of this before I linked the new tickets!!

The MagicBands will be assigned to whoever is listed on your room reservation. The FPs are linked to ticket entitlements... and if you use the NE MagicBands at the FP lines-only, you'll preserve your NE ticket entitlements as long as you don't use the NE MagicBands at the entrance tapstiles.

If you don't change the names on your reservation, you can still reassign the tickets to the new MYW people to save yourself a trip to Guest Relations.
