When we go on our cruise it will just be my dd(11) & myself. Will they separate the bed into 2 single beds for us or make the couch into a bed for her? Just wondering if they'll do that since it's just the 2 of us. Call me selfish, but I don't want to share my bed! :crowded:

I sailed with my daughter in Feb. - just the two of us. The stateroom attendant made up the couch every night for her. No problem! I didnt want to share my bed either!

Have a great time!

I didn't tell our stateroom host to make up the couch though. She did that on her own.

You don't say which ship. If you are cruising the Magic or Wonder, you can request that they split the bed into two almost singles for each to sleep or you can sleep in the bed and they can make up the couch for her. if you are cruising the Dream, that bed does not separate (there may be a few rooms that do but I think the majority - if not all - do not separate) so they will need to make up the couch.

You can have it either way -- have them split the bed into two or have them turn down the bed and make up the couch. We usually leave the bed as one big bed and one person sleep on the couch. That way, instead of both of us having a small bed, only one does.

Just a tip, often on the first night, the cabin host will either not ask if we want the couch made up or forget to make it up. If they forget, it's really no big deal. The couch is already made up, just flip the back of the couch down. (It's a real mattress, not your regular sofa bed.)

I've done it both ways. When I was travelling with my friend, we just had them split the bed for us so neither of us would have to sleep on the couch. The best thing to do is just let your stateroom host(ess) know the first day wen you meet them what you'd prefer. If you'd rather not wait until then, you can always have the reservations agent make a notation to that effect for you.

We flipped the coach over for the bed on the first night and from then on, the stateroom host did it every night while we were out.

We liked this arrangement since there was a privacy curtain you could draw to separate the room into two areas. It worked great when I left the cabin to watch the sunrise almost every day and my brother slept in ... almost every day. :rotfl:
