Sep. Itinerary???

We are coming Sep. 21 - 25. Me, DH, DS9and DD7. We are there around 2pm on the 21st staying at Park Vue, so will just go across to the park that day. Plan to do Sep. 22 (Sat.) at the park, the 23rd (Sun.) rent a car for the day and go to Hollywood and Santa Monica beach or Newport (whichever get the most recommendations) for the day and hopefully take in an Angels game that night or go back to Disney, not sure and the 24th (Mon.) at the park again as I thought for our last day, a Monday would be slower and we would know more of what we want. We have a 5 day park hopper (pay for 3 day). Does that sound like a good plan? Our original was to go Sep. 20 - 24, but that would make our last day on a Sun., so park would probably be very busy. Should we alter anything?

So why do you have a five day hopper?

The plan looks good, make sure you see the night shows on Friday and Saturday, you will get rides in on the much slower Monday.

For a beach Newport is much nicer, and Santa Monica is much nicer for the atmospher, the peir and Venice Beach. I just think going to Hollywood and Newport is a lot of driving.

We have a special that you pay for 3, but get 5. Same price for 3 or 5 and the 4 is more. This way we can use it for the 4 if we want. If we were to drive to Hollywood, what would be the closest beach from there? We did this once a few years ago, but can't remember which beach we went to.

From Hollywood, Santa Monica is the closest beach area.

If you go toward Santa Monica you are likely to take the 405, San Diego Freeway, back toward DLR. That freeway brings you close to Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo beaches.

Thanks skiingfast. I actually like driving around and seeing new places, even if they're not very scenic, so the drive doesn't bug me. I think it will actually be a nice break from Disney.lol
