Sensory issue question. Are there swings anywhere?

MY son loves to swing and if he gets overstimulated. We go in the basement and swing Are there swings anywhere? What do parents do with the kids who love to swing? We also use a weighted blanket. I'm not exactly sure if we are going to be able to pack that. Plus it might be too hot What other alternatives are people bringing or using at Disney or just vacation away from home with spd kids. There are playgrounds at the resorts. Not sure they have swings though. I haven't seen any swings in the parks.

We bring the DS and iPods and things. We try not to use them unless we have to. Usually when we are at a TS restaurant and we are waiting for food or during longer wait times. It helps our oldest to tune out and relax, which sounds weird considering video games themselves are stimulating, but whatever lol. I'm sure we get some stares and looks letting our 8 year old ignore us and play games at the dinner table until food comes.

For sensory issues, lots of people will bring the noise canceling earmuffs and sun glasses. Helps with the sounds and lights. Obviously the DAS is another tool. There's a sticky at the top of the forum with FAQs on it. Really useful.

She's too old for a stroller now, but we had scheduled resort breaks and a full swim day in the middle of our stay to help break up the 'go go go' of it all. We had some surprising triggers. We just went into the vacation knowing we'd have to be respectful of her issues. If needed, we'd leave somewhere or change our plans.

some of the playgrounds at Fort Wilderness used to have swings not sure if all do or if they still do. if I remember correct the one near boat dock did

There are swings at Coronado Springs.

My kids never missed the swings when we were on vacation. They got plenty of sensory input from the rides.

Not all the resort playgrounds have swings. If I'm remembering correctly, Coronado Springs is one of the ones that does. Some resorts have hammocks. I know the Poly, Coronado, Beach/Yacht Club, and Caribbean Beach all do.

Taking a break to swim in the middle of the day works as a good sensory break for us.

Yes fort wilderness still has swings. You can find them most easily at the playground at the settlement. They are right next to the Trails End Buffet and hoop dee doo musical revue. If your at the MK just take the boat and it will drop you off right at the settlement and you will have a very short walk to the playground.

CBR has hammocks. We let my son go out and swing in the hammocks and play in the sand before we hit the parks each day.

Also the Peoplemover gives that same kind of stimulation. We once hour for an hour and a half (we and one other family were the only ones riding for some reason.)

We are staying at bay lake. I don't think there is a play ground there
But the people mover, good idea.

Plus good to know where some play grounds are with swings and hammocks.

I'm not sure it will be warm enough to swim in jan or not.

Probably bit or miss weather wise, but the pools are heated up to 82 degrees.
