Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Wow, you have a lot of nice Star Tours things! I have yet to ride Star Tours...maybe this year will be the year. DS is adamently against it. Tom and I are hoping things will change this year. Jeremy (DS) keeps saying that is going to do Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion so we are keeping our fingers crossed! Is Star Tours a motion ride--I would assume?

I would have been afraid to mention another location to my DH. He would have jumped on going back to New Orleans! Love Cafe Du Monde! So glad you had a nice family meal out together.

I love Star Tours, I can't wait for the new ride! I am a little sad they are replacing Rex, though. He was a cute little robot.

that restaurant sounds fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We really want to get down to NOLA one of these days but the sun and surf won out this year, I needed to get away away!

I'm glad Happydog was able to get you the shirt, they are so cool. I wish Star Tours would re open while we are there in May but we'll see what kind of sneak peek photos we can get for you. I am absolutely loving the Conversion of Charles.

Michelle, keeping your eyes closed MIGHT also make you more queasy btw.... I have heard if you sit in the middle, and you stare straight ahead and keep your eyes focused on what is happening, you may actually be less ill, because your eyes and brain are "communicating" -- when I have read accounts of sea sick, etc., they say it is because your body cannot place the motion it feels to what it "sees" and so it causes havoc with your sensory system. I know I always panic that I will be nauseous when I ride any motion ride, but if I stare straight ahead and hold on!!! I do fine on Star Tours! But I still will NOT ride Mission to Mars.... :scared1:

Yep, I've heard that before but it doesn't seem to be the case with me, the actual movement of the simulator doesn't bother me, it's the visual on the screen. Watching certain scenes in movies, like the pod race in Episode I, makes me queasy and I'm just sitting still  Trust me, I like the ride so I've tried it both ways, closing my eyes during some of the scenes is much better for me. I know, I'm weird! I tried the tame side of Mission Space once, NEVER again!

Hello, hello!! Believe it or not, I have just now finished reading your summer TR from Chelsea's birthday trip! :sad2: I got so far behind on all my DIS subscriptions over the holidays and it has taken me forever to get caught up again! But I enjoyed the rest of your TR so so much! It really was terrific! I am sooooo glad to hear that Charles is finally softening up and giving in on Disney. And it sounded like Chelsea had a very magical 13th birthday! She looks so growny! My goodness time flies! She looks so different from the first TR of yours that I read. She's really growing into a pretty young lady.

Anyway, I'm so glad to see that you are going again this year. Can't wait to read about your adventures. I always enjoy your writing! I do have a question for you though... how did you like CBR? We are thinking about staying there this year and I am curious about your thoughts??? Also what section were you in and did you think it was a long walk to OPR? Thanks a bunch! I'm going back now to read and find out what your plans are for this year! :thumbsup2

Okay Jackie.....we need to totally have a "playdate" so I can come down and see the Strawberry Shortcake collection!!! Do they all still smell good?!!?!! I honestly think that was my favorite thing about them! I wish they would have just brought the old Strawberry Shortcake stuff back out when they came out with the new version........the old ones were SO much better!!!!! Gotta love that!!!

1. Congrats to Chelsea! Great job - I'm sure she has a very bright future!

2. I love that you have brought Charles into the light. (or over to the dark side:confused3)

3. I have always loved Star Tours! I'm excited to see the changes. We saw it at DL for the first time Dec 1989. We were amazed! DS 4 at the time thought it was real, and he was screaming "get me out of here" the whole time - Bad mommy day. :sad2:

4. It's great you have so much of the memorabilia, and fun you are re-visiting it before your trip!

I know you would never trade Disney for New Orleans, but how about both! :rotfl2: I'd like to see Charles face with that suggestions.

Loved all the Star Wars pix. That was very nostalgic (listen to me - the rides only been closed for how many months?). Anyway - I think the new ride is going to be great and I really wish I was going to be there for the opening.

I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the Cajun restaurant. I do believe we have the best tasting food here.

Loved Charles' reaction to New Orleans! Disney is so much more fun and cleaner. I like to visit New Orleans but I couldn't spend a week there. We will actually be there Saturday night for a wedding. If you ever do make it back down there please let me know. We can be there in a little over an hour.

So neat that you have kept so many mementos from you trips. I'm sure you're going to ride Star Tours more than once.

I have to be honest with you, I know Disney is Disney, but I am dying to go back to New Orleans! I've been there once and absolutely loved it. I can't wait to take the kids when the baby is a little bit older.

Love your synopsis of Star Tours then and now. I have to tell you, my husband is so excited for that ride to be revamped, he just can't wait to try it out in May, and Nemo is so excited about it as well. Should be lots of fun.

Makes me wonder though...what do you think the line will be longer for...Star Tours or TSM?

No Broadway shows this time...just a lot of shopping!

I decided to save the Broadway experience til she is older, maybe for her 16th birthday? ;)

I asked her about it and she was like ....:confused3...it's her day and she would rather go back to the hotel for a swim so that's the plan. :rotfl:
I even had to change hotels to find one with a pool.
I'm a little disapointed about not staying in Times Square but not sad about saving about $250!

Mmmmn...I remember the smell of those vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls.
My favorites were the Blueberry and Lemon.
Lexi had the "new" ones and they didn't have the same smells as I remembered.
She did have a cute Strawberry House though.

Do you remember Sea Wees? I still have the entire collection. :)

I was looking on a certain website today and I thought of you when I saw these

My DD had the Cherry Merry Muffin dolls - and all her friends (at least 15-20 dolls) and accessories. They all smelled like some kind of fruit. I just gave them to my niece a few months ago. I just googled them and the prices they are asking are:scared1: Maybe I need to check to see if the old toys are worth anything before I give them away :goodvibes If I had a bigger house I could just keep everything :thumbsup2 I do know I'm hanging on to the American Girl dolls - those are my favorite!

Only finding this now. I am loving your Xmas tree skirt and thinking ours needs an update! Also luv the Mickey Necklace :)

The Chocolate pie looks great! Also luvin the Hogwarts lego.. I think my nephew needs that :rotfl:

One day (hopefully today or tomorrow), I will have a real update! I have even put it on my to-do list. LOL!

In the meantime, I have a funny story...

Last night we took the kids to eat at Henry's Louisiana Grill in Acworth. It is a fabulous Cajun/Creole/New Orleans restaurant with an amazing menu. Chef Henry is from Louisiana, and the restaurant makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the French Quarter. Chef Henry visits all the tables and hands out Mardi Gras beads. The place was featured on Nightline and everything. Well, Charles had a craving for it yesterday and secured us an 8:15 reservation. We had been for our anniversary in October, but it was the first time for the kids.

They loved it! Connor was cracking us up all decked out in his beads and dancing away to the jazz music.

Being at Henry's always makes me crave a trip to New Orleans. This morning I said to Charles, "So, we could skip Disney this year, and take the kids to New Orleans." (I must confess I had visions of eating beignets at Cafe du Monde and taking Connor to Preservation Hall to hear real N'awlins jazz.)

Charles gave me the MOST withering look I have ever seen and said, "No."

Alrighty then...:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Disney it is. ;) (And really, even if Charles had said okay, we all know I wouldn't have been happy giving up Disney and our DIS meets.)
Ahhh, I want to go there!! I was supposed to this Saturday night for a girls night with some friends of mine, but we could only get a 9 PM reservation and we all have younguns so they picked somewhere else.

OH, and WAY TO GO CHARLES!!!! LOL

Most surprising of all, I never knew the candy of choice in the Star Wars galaxy was M&Ms. Am I the only one who didn’t know this??? ;)

Finally - there's my Star Wars connection! :woohoo:

Brooklynn and Bella love "m's", as Bella calls them.

Yep, that's my connection to Star Wars.
They like M&M's and the girls like M&M's.
And I'm related to the girls.

It's all about the candy. :)

Although, I like peanut "m's" better. ;)

Admiral Ackbar for anyone who doesn’t know him…LOL!
AdmiralAckBar.jpg

Hmmmm....who did you think didn't know Admiral Snackbar.
Of course, I do.
I'm a Star Wars expert. I know the white soldiers are....

oh, shucks, what were they? (I truly forgot for a second.)

Stormtroopers.

Yeah, that was it.
And they're the bad guys.

Admiral Snackbar is a (good guy, bad guy).
Choose one.
I have a 50-50 chance to be right here. :rolleyes1

I only hope he was not one of the Star Wars guys you had a crush on, Jackie.

I'm a few days late but I just read your last update...I have to say that even though we're not big Star Wars fans, we're definitely excited to try out the new Star Tours! I love hearing all the details Disney releases, increasing the anticipation even more!

I wonder if the lines will be crazy long since we'll be there so shortly after it's new opening? :confused3

OH rats, well white nuckle I guess!!! And yes get those patches, etc. for the cruise, but I will say you really only notice it on the first night (because they are going fast to get to Nassau) and then not so much b/c the distance to CC from Nassau is "half" and the other "half" is the next night, back to PC... so I bet you won't feel it much at all!!!!

Hello! It has been a while, and I'm checking in because I'm on spring break! I am done with school in 2 weeks.. and hopefully I'll have more time...

One thing that I thought was funny is that.. you started this in Dec. and I'm just not reading it.. which means I haven;t been on here since DEC! Thats over 3 months... I guess time flies when your busy. BUT while reading this today I noticed that WE are going to Disney the SAME TIME this year!! :goodvibes I have known since like last November when we were going.. but haven't had time to begin a PTR.. BUT I'm hoping to start one this week.

We are also leaving May 27th but returning on June 4th. Do you usually go to Disney during this time? Last time we went, it was in the middle of May.. and it rainedddd most of the time if you recall from my TR. We were actually going to go in the 2nd week of May again because I graduate May 7th- but we got the free dining and changed the dates.. as did you!

(I'm not sure if your dates changed or anything.. so if they have I'm sorry.. I haven't read that far!)

I hope things are good with you and your family! :)
