Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

 Are you listening Disney???? Maybe especially for Food and Wine?? Nahh they will never do it. Too much money in the selling of booze.:rotfl2:

I have wondered why they don't sell a bracelet and just let you sample, instead of pay as you go or a card - and why not an "upgraded" bracelet for the mixed drinks? makes sense to me!:cool1:

We are on for 6:00 at La Hacienda. Made a lunch ressie at R&C. Baylor will be happy.:goodvibes
Did you know that Liberty Tree has a different lunch menu? So good, no Stouffers. One of my faves!

We've only eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern once, but we all liked it just fine. I wouldn't mind going back to try the lunch menu sometime.

Jackie, have you started on those donut muffins yet?

Joining in .. We will be arriving at the World the day you are leaving.

Welcome!!! Too bad we will just miss each other.

 Are you listening Disney???? Maybe especially for Food and Wine?? Nahh they will never do it. Too much money in the selling of booze.:rotfl2:

So sad. I would really like that Mixed Drinks Dining Plan.

Yeay for La Hacienda together!

I did know that LTT has a different lunch menu but Charles wanted all dinners. :(

Hey Jackie your ADR's look great!!:thumbsup2

I am such a creature of habit. All of our ADR's for May are favorites of ours. Well the boys have not tried Teppan Edo yet but Jeff & I did this last trip so I want them to try it that meal will be new for them.

Where all did you make ADRs or are you saving them for a PTR?

We will need to get over to MK on Sat. 5/28 so we can meet as we leave to come home on Sun. (Unless we can meet up on 5/27-your arrival day). As it gets closer we will need to make plans.:woohoo:

We will definitely need to make plans! We are planning on the MK Saturday -- were you thinking of seeing the parade?

I'm here.. and will most likely fall wayy behind.. but I'm subscribed so I can always return to read!!

I've been so busy with student teaching that I just don't have time to post much.. in fact I missed most of your last TR. BUT I know that after I'm done in April, I will sit and read it all because it will get me all excited for our trip in May! I've been debating starting a ptr but I'm just worried I'll fall behind.. soo for now it's just a hello.

Hi, Jen! So exciting that you are doing your student teaching! How is it going?

But I just wanted to say hello and although star tours made me sick the last time I rode it.. I'm considering giving it another try because of the updates!

Oh, yes, I am a big believer in trying the rides again when they are updated!

Yum! I would LOVE one right now.

Mixed Drinks Dining Plan :rotfl: Love it! And I would definitely get it.

I think it is a solid gold idea! :rotfl:

YUMMY! Your ADR selections sound delicious!

Reading about them is making me HUNGRY!

Thanks, Julie! Every time I think about our ADRs my stomach growls. LOL!

I have to comment on the "fish pee" thing, even though I'm like 2 days late. My 17 yr old DS pulled a "that's what she said" in English class on Friday. He said it half under his breath, not really, and his teacher heard him. He said, "did you hear that?" teacher, "yes" DS "but it was funny, right?" teacher, "no." and the conversation went on like that for a min. The teacher said that she really wanted to laugh out loud. Anyway, that is my inappropriate comment story.

:lmao: Kids just sometimes speak without even thinking -- I know my two do that from time to time.

Back to your ADRs, I SO need to try this BOMA restaurant that everyone is so happy with. Those Zebra domes look YUUUUMMMMY!

Boma is one of our favorite places on property! It is so good and the selection is so varied that we all find lots of things to eat there.

HOLY SMOKES!!!! Sign me up for that plan....:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Chocolate Margarita??!! YUUUUUUUUMMMMMM. :lovestruc

:lmao: Charles and I would be all set with that sort of dining plan.

Their lunch menu is what attracted me to the possibility, WigD, I agree -- there is a salad I recall, or a sandwich with cranberry? I can't remember, but I agree with Charles, I too wouldn't want to just eat Stouffers stuffing either!

A sandwich with cranberry sounds so good! At Thanksgiving, I made turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce with the leftovers. Very yummy!

YAY for ADR's!! Lookin' good on those choices! We just love GFC when we went a few years back, great little quiet place.

Crossing my fingers for as few snow days as possible for you!!

Good to hear about the GFC -- I am looking forward to trying it. The only place we have eaten at the GF is 1900 Park Fare.

Well, we have a snow day today. The amount of snow we got last night is crazy for Georgia. Atlanta is pretty much shut down today. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with another snow day tomorrow. I just don't want the power to go out.

Your ADR's look great Jackie! BTW, this is totally random, but I LOVE your vera hipster! I have the same print but in a pencil case and I'm planning on getting the hipster in the same print! Do you like it? Does it hold everything?

I have the hipster in Cafe Latte for around town, and it holds everything I need it to. I have the mailbag in Cupcake Pink for Disney trips, and it worked out great.

I have wondered why they don't sell a bracelet and just let you sample, instead of pay as you go or a card - and why not an "upgraded" bracelet for the mixed drinks? makes sense to me!:cool1:

I like your way of thinking! :thumbsup2

We've only eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern once, but we all liked it just fine. I wouldn't mind going back to try the lunch menu sometime.

I would really like to try LTT sometime. Charles can be such a diva when it comes to choosing restaurants, though. He studies the menus on Allears before we make ADRs every year. :sad2:

Jackie, have you started on those donut muffins yet?
13.gif

Not yet, but soon! I am starting to get hungry, and I know as soon as the kids wake up they are going to want to play in the snow. They will come in wet, cold, and hungry afterwards, so I better make sure there is something to satisfy them. LOL!

Sorry about the snow! I was keeping my fingers crossed for you, but obviously I have little effect on the snow gods. ;) Up here they are calling for more later this week. Sadly up here there is practically no such thing as an official snow day in NYC. Makes me missing in the suburbs sometimes.

I love that you have a few new places this trip to try for your ADRs. They all look like great choices!

!

Can you imagine the drunks wandering around if they had that? It is bad enough with the pay as you go. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I would do it though. :cool1: The little gift card was close and boy that is dangerous. I put money on it, got about 1/2 way around the world and had to refilled it again. :scared1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeay! What did you get when you were there? Charles was all about the place once he realized they have a key lime dessert there. I could probably feed him a strict diet of just key lime pie and he would be happy. LOL!

I got the pork chop, it came with snap peas and roasted corn. I'm not usually a big pork eater, but my meal was really good - especially the corn. Mom got salmon, I think it came with roasted asperagus AND she got the key lime tort for dessert - tell Charles it was quite tasty!

Too bad Disney doesn't offer a Mixed Drinks Dining Plan. :lmao:

Oh, I would be all over this!

I have not started a PTR yet. Not sure if I will. We are eating at Crystal Palace for 8:05 breakfast, Teppan Edo, LeCellier (lunch), Yak & Yeti, Mama Melroses (both lunches also) & Chef's De France.

Yeah that will be our last night and I like to end it at MK so that will probably be our plan. Maybe we could meet for the parade.

Boma is a fav of mine also!!:thumbsup2

Yeah I would not mind that kind of dining plan either!!:goodvibes

We didn't get much snow but a lot of freezing rain and sleet. We have a 1 inch thick blanket of ice everywhere. School is closed again tomorrow.

Hey Jackie - great ADR's. I can't wait to try La Hacienda and Via Napoli! Like Christine, I am not exactly sure what our ADRs are, so I am obviously not one of the uber planners. I think that must be Cynthia. All I know is what time my flight leaves and arrives, where I am staying for the first two nights, that I promised Cynthia beignets the moment she arrives on Saturday morning, and where we are staying for the last four nights. Oh yeah - and I know there is going to be alcohol involved and I promised to pack rum and Starbucks coffee (especially now that all my DIS friends think I'm a certified sherpa and Southwest allows bags to fly free).

I haven't checked the weather channel today, but I think you got some unusually bad weather down there. I hope they don't penalize you with two many school days.

I think its very amusing the Charles knows all the words to Davy Crockett!

Jackie, we need to schedule a meet in your schedule! All of your ADRs sounds YUMMMMM but none overlap with ours :headache: What day do you leave? I probably could just go back to page 1 or something and check myself but alas, I am lazy

When we stay moderate, whenever that may be, Chris wants to stay at CSR! I remember we either dropped people off or picked people up from the Magical Express there on one trip and Chris was all intrigued and we didn't even really see the resort lol I think it just looks so upscale and relaxing at the same time!

I can't believe all the snow you guys got! I saw some of your FB pictures today of the kids playing outside. We're supposed to get MORE snow Tuesday night into Wednesday so I'm going to try your "NO SNOW!" chant...hopefully it will have more luck for me than it did for you! :thumbsup2

Hey, even I know the words to Davy Crockett! :thumbsup2 It was the biggest thing to hit the tube for us kids! I bought the Disney Masterpiece series of Davy Crockett a couple of years ago. I love those sets in the special tins.

I'm thinking about extending my trip a couple of days so that I can try a few more restaurants. The GDs have to get back to school, but DH & I don't really need to go home when they do.

I want to try Lahacienda, it sounds interesting.

Atlanta is really completely shut down at this point. There is now a layer of ice on top of the snow, and the DOT is saying just stay home. I wonder if we will have a snow day again tomorrow because they were saying there is only going to be a couple of hours where the temp is above 32 degrees today.

I love that you have a few new places this trip to try for your ADRs. They all look like great choices!

Thanks! I wish I was there right now!

That was us, too. We refilled our cards a couple of times.

You can't even imagine. :sad2::goodvibes

I love salmon. I may need to get that! I have a feeling a couple of us will be trying the key lime tort.

Oh, I would be all over this!

Disney doesn't know what it is missing. LOL!

Boma always makes me smile!

It's crazy! I think I may go a little stir crazy before things are back to normal.

I haven't checked the weather channel today, but I think you got some unusually bad weather down there. I hope they don't penalize you with two many school days.

We did get bad weather. Day Two of the Snow Days today, and they are saying things may not get better until later in the week! I was reading how Atlanta only has 11 snow plows -- no wonder we are all told to stay home.

I think its very amusing the Charles knows all the words to Davy Crockett!

I couldn't stop laughing.

We are leaving June 2 -- do our parks overlap at all?

I do hope you have better luck with the snow chant because it really had the opposite effect for me. The official count was six inches for our town.

Hey, even I know the words to Davy Crockett! :thumbsup2 It was the biggest thing to hit the tube for us kids! I bought the Disney Masterpiece series of Davy Crockett a couple of years ago. I love those sets in the special tins.

I was surprised to read there were so few episodes.

I'm thinking about extending my trip a couple of days so that I can try a few more restaurants. The GDs have to get back to school, but DH & I don't really need to go home when they do.

I am all about extending a trip if you can.

I want your donut muffin recipe! I saw the pictures on FB and it looks absolutely delicious! YUMMMMM :thumbsup2

They were yummy and easy to make. Here is the recipe I ended up using.

Doughnut Muffins

Hi, everyone, from sunny Atlanta where we are currently snowed in for our second day. We ended up with six inches of snow which started Sunday night. There was even one point where it was thunder snow. The kids were completely freaked out by thunder while it snowed. I tried explaining to them what it was, but I don't think Chelsea believed me. She gave me that look.

Yesterday, after it was finished snowing, it decided to drop some freezing rain on us. There is now a layer of ice on top of the snow. The dogs love the snow but aren't sure about the crunchiness on top of it.

Needless to say we are out of school for the second day. We'll see what the decision about tomorrow is going to be, but since it is only getting above freezing for a couple of hours, we may have a third day. :sad2:

I am beginning to understand why Jack Nicholson went crazy in The Shining. If we had known we would be out so many days, I might have been tempted to pull a Happydog and take off for Disney. ;)

Anyway, thought I would share a few pictures of our snow day fun yesterday.

Sunday night while I was watching the Weather Channel, the broadcasters kept saying we should have a fully stocked emergency kit, but they wouldn't say what should be in it. I was a little concerned.

Chelsea made her own kit of essentials: notice the nailpolish and reading material.
EmergencyKit.jpg

We made a snow day brunch of doughnut muffins, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The kids did the topping on the muffins. Note how bundled up they are -- they were getting ready to go play after.
MakingDoughnutMuffins.jpg

Connor and I finished building Hogwarts yesterday (his big gift from Santa), and he thought we needed pictures.

Ron is wearing his scared face because of the spiders.
005.jpg

Uh oh.
007.jpg

Chelsea and Connor decided to build a snow castle with the sand castle molds, but also wanted to sample the snow even after Anita told us what was in snow.

014.jpg

Chelsea thought it would work to use the wakeboard to sled. FYI: it doesn't. Here is Charles showing off the wakeboard. LOL!
017.jpg

We also played Disney Scene It yesterday (Charles and I as a team won - woo hoo! -- with Charles answering just as many questions as me), and I made my trip binder. I will take a picture of it later today.

So, that's what we have been doing here in our little frozen corner of the South.

I've really been enjoying all my southern friends stories the last few days. Y'all make it an event when you have a snow day! Us New Englanders either just go back to bed or go out and run errands!

:lmao: It is a big event to have snow of any sort down here, and this much snow and ice will fuel stories for the next ten years at least. I still hear stories about the Blizzard of 93.

Chelsea's survival kit is perfect! :thumbsup2 Especially the Nutella!

Love the snow pictures... and your re-creation of the news reporter. :rotfl:

When Chelsea showed me her emergency kit, I knew I had to share it with everyone! :lmao:

We were playing in the snow, and I was beyond excited to see that we also had that layer of ice the reporters had been talking about all day long. Simple things amuse me. :rotfl2:

Hi Jackie! Love Chelsea's emergency box, it made me laugh! Here in Missouri we had 9 inches of snow, which we've only had 2 inches total this whole year! Lol! So I was stuck inside yesterday and I didn't really do anything exciting! I cleaned my room and re-organized my bathroom, put up my new showerhead (which is amazing! It's like rain!) and I re-organized my closet! I think I might make some snow cream today! Anyways, loved the update, and you look gorgeous without makeup!
