Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

OK, one more comment.
Was going to start on my Christmas present "The Help" today but I have another novel to read.....
all 13 pages of "Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR!
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:
Can't believe you sneaked this past me!

THAT was funny. You gave me a good laugh at this one Anita!!!! When are you leaving for Disney again??!!

Oh Jackie love it love it! Those are great ADRs!! I especially am excited to hear about the two new places, Via Napoli and La Hacienda! They look so cool!!! We had breakfast at GFC last month, not dinner, but I remember Michelle saying it was a good spot so I am sure it won't disappoint! :thumbsup2 NICE choices... and I agree with you about the MK. I stick with Crystal Palace. I would like to try the Liberty Tree Tavern some time -- too bad they don't have characters any more.

ANYHOW, great proverb, SO Italian... Va Bene!

Okay I have to say Boo to the snow for you, but I am hoping THIS time it will take a slight turn in and hit the DC area this time!!!! I would love to have Tuesday off.. It can do that, right?! I already saw on the Weather Channel that they some counties were closing school... the ladies said this was "pro-active" Dang, I have never heard of that sort of proactive school closing before!!!

What book are you reading?? :lmao:

I think all of your choices are fabulous!! I really want to try Boma someday. I also can't say enough good things about the French Onion Soup from Grand Floridian Cafe, seriously yummy.

Jackie, we do have La Hacienda at 6:00 on Monday. What time is your ADR?
We also have R&C at 6:50...
If Baylor gets wind of that he will want R&C he has a weakness for their Yorkshire Pudding. Not sure if we should let the cat out of the bag on that or not. Maybe we should try for a lunch at R&C so he can get his Yorkie Pudding!:lmao:

Ours is for 6:00, too! :woohoo: Don't tell Baylor about the R&C or do a lunch there! We must eat together in Mexico! :goodvibes

Your ADRs look fantastic. I think you'll love Via Napoli and Hacienda... as well as your other selections. You're making me hungry!

Hoping for no snow for you...:)

I love our ADRs -- three new places and two favorites! Not to mention all the counter services and snacks we are bound to indulge in.

We have been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning -- it may be almost a done deal.

I adore making ADRs!! I think you got some really great ones Jackie. :)

Thanks! I am very excited about them!

Yum! I think you'll like the GF Cafe, it was one of my favorite meals last trip :thumbsup2

Yeay! What did you get when you were there? Charles was all about the place once he realized they have a key lime dessert there. I could probably feed him a strict diet of just key lime pie and he would be happy. LOL!

Can't wait to hear about Via Napoli & La Hacienda!

Those are my two favorite ADRs for this trip!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you don't get too much snow. We're supposed to have a storm pass just south of us tomorrow (probably the one headed your way), but Monday we have about a 60% chance of snow, they're saying maybe an inch - so really not too bad. I'll take an inch of snow over the ice we usually get!

I am interested to see how all the weather unfolds. At this point, I wouldn't be too adverse to being "snowed in." I have lots of things I could do tomorrow.

I'm starting to figure out my ADRs for Sept. I think that I'm going to try all new places except for Teppan Edo. DH wants that place. We went to Floridian Cafe, it was so pretty & the food was good. We don't eat dinner at the MK because DH has to have a beer with dinner.

You know we love Teppan Edo! :thumbsup2

Could I ask for a recommendation for a character meal? I'm thinking that Chef Micket may be the way to go. I'll be with GD age 8 & 5, they are not girly girls.

My favorite character meal is the Tusker House breakfast -- I just love seeing the gang in their safari outfits.

Hope that you don't get all of that snow, we have more today & I just hate it! :scared1:

I want ot move to Florida!:cloud9:

Doris

I want to move to Florida, too, for the warm weather and the discounts at Disney. LOL!

drooling.jpg

Ha ha! That's how I feel every time I think about our ADRs.

MeMom's students know the Davy Crockett song. I'm sure she'll share with you why they like it when she gets over here to read your update.

I will have to ask her! LOL! I asked my mom last night if she remembered all the words to the Davy Crockett song, and she was able to sing it, too.

I think that Italian proverb describes John perfectly. If he is hungry and hot just send him back to the room because everyone is going to miserable!

That is so Charles -- hot and hungry makes him a misery to be around.

I have to say that this is my dh. If I can keep him well fed and not to hot then he is a very happy camper, but beware if he is hungry or to hot and uncomfortable.:scared1:

Yup! Charles, too! ::yes::

Mmmm, all of your food pictures are making me hungry! The ADRs look GREAT! :thumbsup2 I definitely want to try Via Napoli and the new restaurant in Mexico. You'll have to let me know how yall like 'em. :)

Thanks! Yes, Via Napoli and La Hacienda are my two favorite picks for this trip.

You guys will console those of us who are not at your table with FB pictures, I hope. (Is there a PLEASE smiley?)

Oh, yes, I will make sure to remind Anita to pull out that nifty iPhone of hers.

You can go outside and sit in your big rocking chairs and soak in the atmosphere with good DIS buddies. :)

And say hello to the giraffes!

I very much want to go to Brown Derby, but I don't know that it is something our guys will like, plus it seems pretty expensive, so I think that one will be done on one of our girl trips.

It would be perfect for a girl's trip! If we weren't on the Dining Plan, I would order the Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit cake. That would be pretty reasonable. In fact, that's probably what I will order anyway!

I want to hear the story about the Davy Crockett song and your class.

those look like some good eats...and YUM fish tacos! :thumbsup2

Don't those look delicious?

Your ADR's sound wonderful! Lots of fun new places to try with a few favorites!

Thanks! We always try to mix it up and try a couple of new ones. This year was great because they are not only ones we have never tried but brand new. There is always something so exciting about trying new things at Disney.

Fabulous ADR's :woohoo: I absolutely loved Via Napoli and can't wait to eat there again....and I can attest that the waiters are indeed cute!! No worries!!

Whew! Thank goodness the waiters are easy on the eyes.

I think we have an ADR for La Hacienda in May....the uber planners of the group would know better ;) We will let you know how the food, waiters, and margaritas are :thumbsup2

Yeay! :woohoo:

Boma is always a favorite of mine too :goodvibes I am mentally making ADR's for October....I have reservations at Kidani but am going to try to switch out at the 7 month mark. If we don't end up staying at Kidani then Brielle said she doesn't want to eat at Boma because it won't feel right.....whatever that is supposed to mean..but that is in the mind of a 14 year old :rolleyes1

Teenagers have an entirely different way of thinking. Somedays I can't figure it out. Last week, we were at the funeral home visiting a student who lost his father. Chelsea lost an earring and didn't realize it until we were in the car. She flat out refused to go back and look for it because she said it would look weird. :confused3 I marched in there and found it for her.

Hoping the snow passes you by....or at least doesn't stay around long for you....I was actually outside earlier at work and it was big fluffy flakes and I really did stick my tongue out  Now I am thinking about 10% fish pee!!! :lmao:

:rotfl2: I think I will forget to mention the fish pee part to Chelsea and Connor.

The quote is my DS all the way. In fact when he was younger and his teacher complained of his crankiness, I always ask if it happened right before lunch or at the end of the day depending on the lunch schedule . In school they would have some really early or really late lunch times and my son needed to eat. One year we compromised and I left some snacks to "cure" his crankiness and it actually helped.
Even now if he acting odd I usually know to feed him. :rotfl2:

Good Eats YUM

It's amazing how lack of food can affect our moods.

Here ya go, MeMom, you can borrow mine :)

please.gif

I may need to borrow that smiley, too!

Your ADRs sound fantastic Jackie!!!

Hmmm....Boma I so want to eat there someday LOL!!!!!

Are you still going in May this year or did you change your dates?

I am going to start chanting with you "No Snow" "No Snow" in hopes there will be no snow!!!!! :worship::worship:

I might be okay now with a little snow. ;)

Jackie, I hope the snow bypasses you! It's snowing tonight in NYC, not much, but it's sticking. Maybe bypassed you and headed north.

It's coming from the West this morning -- however, it is pretty far south of us -- I am wondering if we will even get any now.

Your ADRs are GREAT! I can't wait to read your reviews of Via Napoli and La Hacienda. And I LOVE that you do one ADR a day. More than can be just too much food.

I agree. It worked pretty well last summer when we would eat breakfast in the room, did counter service for an early lunch, and then did our TS dinner.

Have you checked out the adult drink menus for Via Napoli and La Hacienda?

Of course! :lmao: I want a Bellini or a glass of Prosseco at Via Napoli, and the coffee margarita at La Hacienda. :thumbsup2

Oh I hope it DOESN'T snow!

We have a chance of getting some at home too but not like that.

I actually thought of you last night when they were talking about potential snow in Washington. :goodvibes

It's so us -- if we are hungry we are absolute bears to be around.

Love the lineup! I have the same issue with MK options, we've never done a TS in the park for that reason, I can't wait to see what you think of GF Cafe.

I don't think Via Napoli made our cut, I need the trip to be longer lol but I do want to try that as well.

yum yum and yum!

I am hoping the new Fantasyland expansion opens up some more dining choices in the MK.

I am very much looking forward to eating on this trip! LOL!

Mmmm, those dining choices look great! I know others have said it already, but you are going to love the new caramel store. It's absolutely delectable!

Yeay! I think I may need to visit it more than once.

Boma is one of my favorites too. I think their desserts are my favorite part.

Boma was Charles' first favorite restaurant at Disney before he met Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia. I love their seafood, soups, and desserts. So yummy!

Yummy Yummy Yummy!!!!
Great ADRs and I love the proverb. ALthough when I told my husband (who is 1/2 Italian) this is an Italian proverb... and read it. He did not understand what the heck I was talking about!! I guess it was out of context for him. I had to explain where I read it, what we were discussing...It was just not worth it.

:lmao:

We had an ADR at the GF Cafe last summer as a backup to the luau in case it rained. It didn't rain, so we didn't get to eat there. As I say so often, "Maybe someday!"

I really wanted Ohana's but Charles doesn't like the atmosphere there for some reason. I think it is too chaotic for him. :confused3

Lucky you get to meet up and dine with the Wigdout gang!!!

I am very excited! :woohoo:

I am so impressed at all your new restaurants to try... we get in a disney dining rut in my house! All are new to me (Brown Derby was a zillion years ago)

Thanks! We enjoy trying new restaurants as long as the menu choices aren't too out of our comfort zine.

I am all caught up now! Yayy me!!!

I loved your snow man pictures! We did not get enough snow to make a snow man over here. I am sorry but I am praying for at least snow delay, there is something about sleeping in on a weekday that feels much better than sleeping in on a weekend. ;)

I agree about sleeping in on a weekday! At this point, I really wouldn't mind a snow day. It's hard to resist the allure of having a four-day week. LOL!

I hope you are staying warm, Jackie! I forgot to comment on Davy Crockett. I remember when we were little, my cousin had a "coonskin cap" that he never took off and DH says he did the same when he was little!:goodvibes

:lmao: That same article did say that coonskin caps were all the rage!

Your ADRs look great!

I know what you mean about TS restaurants at MK... We don't usually make any ADRs there other than possibly breakfast at Crystal Palace!

Good Luck with no snow days!

Thanks! Every year we try and find a TS at the MK, but we just can't get really excited about them except for Crystal Palace -- since we did that one last summer, we wanted something different.

Oh my...I thought I had read the last couple updates, only to find I had missed them all :scared1:

Loved the Christmas updates and so glad you got a white christmas. I complain about snow and dislike it much of the time but it really is beautiful when you don't have to deal with the hassles and Christmas isn't quite the same without in my opinion! Here's hoping it stays away for you this week!

It will be interesting to see how the weather unfolds today and tomorrow. Well, it will be for me since I am such a weather junkie.

Hooray for CSR!!!! :yay: The new rooms are truly lovely and the pool great! We never actually ate at PM but I've heard great things. Are you going to request a section? I LOVED Casitas 4! 1/2 way between El Centro and the Dig Site and close to the first bus stop

That would be the perfect location. I am making a note of it right now.

Funny you updated about food yesterday! I haven't been able to get Disney dining out of my mind this weekend. I had been leaning toward quick service for my maybe trip in December but I got thinking about TS options yesterday and now I'm all confused :sad2: I like your list :thumbsup2

How about just doing a couple of table services? That might work.

THAT was funny. You gave me a good laugh at this one Anita!!!! When are you leaving for Disney again??!!

I was actually feeling pretty spiffy that my writing beat out The Help yesterday. It's not everyday that happens. :rotfl:

Oh Jackie love it love it! Those are great ADRs!! I especially am excited to hear about the two new places, Via Napoli and La Hacienda! They look so cool!!!

Via Napoli and La Hacienda do look really neat -- they are the two I am most excited about! Love those Epcot restaurants!

We had breakfast at GFC last month, not dinner, but I remember Michelle saying it was a good spot so I am sure it won't disappoint! :thumbsup2

The breakfast menu looks really yummy there. It will be fun to see the Grand Floridian again -- it's been a couple of trips since we were there last. Not to mention, it gives us an excuse to take the monorail to the MK afterwards.

NICE choices... and I agree with you about the MK. I stick with Crystal Palace. I would like to try the Liberty Tree Tavern some time -- too bad they don't have characters any more.

I always try to get Charles to agree to the Liberty Tree Tavern every single trip, but his response is always the same, "I refuse to eat Stouffer's stuffing in the middle of the summer."

ANYHOW, great proverb, SO Italian... Va Bene!

I just knew I had to use it for this update!

Okay, I will confess. The logical part of me knows I should not want a snow day because of how close our trip is to the end of school (not to mention the 8th graders take the writing assessment in six school days and I really need the time with them), but the little kid in me is absolutely giddy at the prospect of five to seven inches of snow. I can't help it. :lmao:

I can't believe some districts are already deciding to be closed. That's crazy. I know our superintendent will wait until it is closer to make a decision. He may even wait until tomorrow morning to make the call. Last year Atlanta got a pretty good snowfall, but it missed our county completely. That was a sad day when we all had to go to school and every other county around us was out.

What book are you reading?? :lmao:

It's fluff. :lmao: Actually, it is Roast Mortem by Cleo Coyle. It is one of a mystery series about a woman who runs a coffeehouse in Greenwich Village. They are usually pretty cute and fast reading.

I think all of your choices are fabulous!! I really want to try Boma someday. I also can't say enough good things about the French Onion Soup from Grand Floridian Cafe, seriously yummy.

Mmmm. French Onion Soup sounds fabulous. Too bad I am the only one in my family who likes onions or I would make some today!

I agree. It worked pretty well last summer when we would eat breakfast in the room, did counter service for an early lunch, and then did our TS dinner.

Of course! :lmao: I want a Bellini or a glass of Prosseco at Via Napoli, and the coffee margarita at La Hacienda. :thumbsup2

We also prefer to eat breakfast in the room, unless we have an ADR at the Crystal Palace, and counter service for lunch as well. I love saving ADRs for dinner. By that time, we really want to sit down and enjoy a leisurely meal.

I  Bellinis! The coffee margarita sounds so interesting. I'm sure it's delicious.

Here is the description of it from the Disney Food Blog:

"I’m not a big coffee fan, but this was sweet, creamy, and very dessert-like. It tasted a bit like a liquid tiramisu. Very interesting, and a must-get for anyone who’s a coffee or tiramisu fan."

Tiramisu in a glass? I am all about it!

The Orange Mango Fire Margarita sounds good, too.

Too bad Disney doesn't offer a Mixed Drinks Dining Plan. :lmao:

We are on for 6:00 at La Hacienda. Made a lunch ressie at R&C. Baylor will be happy.:goodvibes
Did you know that Liberty Tree has a different lunch menu? So good, no Stouffers. One of my faves!

Hey Jackie your ADR's look great!!:thumbsup2

I am such a creature of habit. All of our ADR's for May are favorites of ours. Well the boys have not tried Teppan Edo yet but Jeff & I did this last trip so I want them to try it that meal will be new for them.

We will need to get over to MK on Sat. 5/28 so we can meet as we leave to come home on Sun. (Unless we can meet up on 5/27-your arrival day). As it gets closer we will need to make plans.:woohoo:

I'm here.. and will most likely fall wayy behind.. but I'm subscribed so I can always return to read!!

I've been so busy with student teaching that I just don't have time to post much.. in fact I missed most of your last TR. BUT I know that after I'm done in April, I will sit and read it all because it will get me all excited for our trip in May! I've been debating starting a ptr but I'm just worried I'll fall behind.. soo for now it's just a hello.

But I just wanted to say hello and although star tours made me sick the last time I rode it.. I'm considering giving it another try because of the updates!

Yum! I would LOVE one right now.

Mixed Drinks Dining Plan :rotfl: Love it! And I would definitely get it.

YUMMY! Your ADR selections sound delicious!

Reading about them is making me HUNGRY!

I have to comment on the "fish pee" thing, even though I'm like 2 days late. My 17 yr old DS pulled a "that's what she said" in English class on Friday. He said it half under his breath, not really, and his teacher heard him. He said, "did you hear that?" teacher, "yes" DS "but it was funny, right?" teacher, "no." and the conversation went on like that for a min. The teacher said that she really wanted to laugh out loud. Anyway, that is my inappropriate comment story.
Back to your ADRs, I SO need to try this BOMA restaurant that everyone is so happy with. Those Zebra domes look YUUUUMMMMY!

We are on for 6:00 at La Hacienda. Made a lunch ressie at R&C. Baylor will be happy.:goodvibes
Did you know that Liberty Tree has a different lunch menu? So good, no Stouffers. One of my faves!

Their lunch menu is what attracted me to the possibility, WigD, I agree -- there is a salad I recall, or a sandwich with cranberry? I can't remember, but I agree with Charles, I too wouldn't want to just eat Stouffers stuffing either!

YAY for ADR's!! Lookin' good on those choices! We just love GFC when we went a few years back, great little quiet place.

Crossing my fingers for as few snow days as possible for you!!

Your ADR's look great Jackie! BTW, this is totally random, but I LOVE your vera hipster! I have the same print but in a pencil case and I'm planning on getting the hipster in the same print! Do you like it? Does it hold everything?
