Has anyone done any of the spas - be it GF, SSR, etc.? I have a few questions.

How far in advance can you book? Is there a better time/day to go? What treatment(s) do you recommend? and lastly, do they serve refreshments?

Going solo this coming October and have never done a spa treatment. Can't wait but want the inside skinny on the above questions. Thank you!! :goodvibes

My 3 daughters and I enjoyed the Spa at the Grand Floridian last August...and had such an amazing time that we're doing it again this coming August!

We were booked for pedicures. ($80 for a 50 min treatment). When we arrived, (and DO arrive early to enjoy everything!) we were offered to change into robes and sandals. We had never heard of changing for a pedi before, but hey...why not?! So we changed and enjoyed a little juice, zucchini muffins, and cucumber water while we waited for our services in wonderfully comfy chairs.

They were able to do all four of our pedi's at once, which I really appreciated. All of the staff there were just so friendly and professional. You definitely feel pampered. We each got to bring home a little sized bottle of the polish we picked incase we needed to touch anything up later.

We were welcome to stay at the spa as long as we liked to enjoy the steam room or hot tub, or just relax. It was August, so we didn't use the steam room or hot tub, but did enjoy nice showers and excellent products offered. They even had anti-humidity hairspray which was soooo nice.

I definitely recommend this experience, and can't wait to do it again!

Thanks for the reply. I am considering doing the Grand Getaway package. Since its only me on the trip, I thought I would make a day of it. Can't wait!!

I did a massage at the Senses Spa at GF. It was nice. A bit on the pricey side but overall they do a good job. The whole idea is to "explore" your senses so when you walk in you are given a choice of fruit juices, each a different "sense." They then take you to the changing room. There is a hot tub area with a steam room and heated benches...however, please note that you must wear a bathing suit in this area. So, if you want to use the whirlpool bring a bathing suit with you. There is also a nice lounge area to wait in before/after your treatment. They have flavored water and mini-cupcakes to snack on. I think there were also apples available.

Overall it was a nice experience, if a little pricey.
