Going on my first Dis cruise in october on the Wonder. So excited. There are a few of us in the party that want to experience the Spa. I was looking at facials vs. massages. What are your recommendations and what have you loved? I have had massages before and love them, but never a facial. Just looking for something enjoyable and fun. Thanks!!

I thoroughly enjoyed (and highly recommend) the chocolate massage that I had on the Wonder!! It honestly was one of the longest massages that I've ever had! Reminded me of having massages in the spa at Hershey Spa!

I also highly recommend having acupuncture on the Wonder!

I've had a facial but not on the Wonder. As long as you don't have sensitive skin you'll love it! If your skin is sensitive it might be a little tender after. I wouldn't get one of vacation because my skin tends to look a little red afterwards!

On port days they have specials at the spa and you can save a lot of money that way! That is what we did on the Wonder, I forget how much it cost but it was called a 15/15/15 and you chose 3 treatments from a long list of treatments and each was 15 minutes. I did neck, foot and scalp massage.

I personally wouldn't get a facial while on vacation just because you never know how your skin will react. I'm sure 99% of the time people are fine but for me personally, I wouldn't risk it - I have very sensitive skin. A standard Swedish Massage will be nice to enjoy while on vacation and your massage therapist can adjust the pressure according to your needs. If you're not used to deep tissue then I wouldn't advise it as it can leave you sore for days to come. Hot Stones aren't necessary in my opinion but some find it very relaxing. I'm a massage therapist of 10+ years and have lots of spa experience in case you have any other questions!

My skin already acts a little funny on vacation with the heat, humidity, and increased sun exposure so I wouldn't get a facial- especially if you haven't had one before. I always get facials when I have a couple of low key days to let my skin adjust.

I agree with all the others, skip the facial. I love a good massage. Haven't had a massage on the Wonder, but did the fire and ice pedicure several yrs ago and it was really nice. Not sure if it's still offered, but would recommend it.

Though we are going to be on the Fantasy instead of the Wonder, I was interested in the Fire and Ice Manicure.

#1, do they use Gel polish? (regular polish refuses to stay on my nails)
#2, what is the Fire and Ice part like?
#3, is the gratuity included in the price?

Thank you!

I had regular polish, I didn't ask about other kinds so I don't know if they had gel or not. The "fire" is a hot stone massage on the lower leg and the "ice" is a cooling gel, both were really nice. I can't remember if they did a salt or sugar scub also, it's been several years since I had it done. It was a surprise gift from my dh, he took care of paying for it, so I don't know if the tip was included in the price or not. I did give the cm a tip afterwards, not sure if it was the only tip she got or it was additional to one in the price.
