Has Disney ever thought of offering a senior discount? Afterall we bring the kids and the grandkids and usually stya in their hotels, eat at the table service restauants and drop a bundle in the gift shops. How about a break!!!!

do you know how many old people are in FL? If they offered a discount to seniors they would go out of business

The way I see it, seniors should not need a discount. They've worked their whole lives and now should be set in their retirement. Young families should have a tougher time affording a trip, as they've also got mortgages, possible student loans, etc. I always thought the "senior" discount was silly - but, I realize it's all about filling rooms that would otherwise go unsold. It has nothing to do with "helping" seniors ;)

You must be a young pup. We have be living in a fixed income for almost 20 years now ( to a youngen that is pension and SS) savings and Iras oh ya and 401ks. Since 401ks were a new type of retirement plan we only got 6 years in on that. Worked for 40 years so have a nice SS and Pension is based on last wages and since a supervisior We do ok.

Pensions do not give raises cost of living or other wise -- well ours doesn't. SS gives I think average of like 2 % over last few years. Well the stock market is ok but -- we know how that goes.

So tell me why I do not need or deserve a discount at the Parks? I am listening.

Happy trip planning oh ya and happy retirement saving-- to live like you do today it is scarey to know how much you need to have saved by age 55. Opps forgot retired folks must usaually pay for own medical insurance at the cost of 800-1000 per couple. ( My husband and I are fortunate to have 100% company paid retirement insurance that covers what ever medicare does not and for no cost to us).

If I sound pesky sorry -- Just saying discounts are nice and who knows how long we are gonna be around :).

disney at one time have a great program for seniors - it cost $35 for 5 years - and it included hotels and fw discount - but the best thing for me was free kennel. the hotel discounts were great I think at time 50% off.

so for 3 1/2 years - Spicey stayed free and we stayed in my DVC - it was wonderful!!!

then Disney realized they were losing money on it - and quit it. didn't even let it go for the 5 years - instead just put everyone in the regular magic kingdom club - the discounts were not as good. No free pet kennels.

then a few years ago they did away with MKC.

so right now nothing.

that say AARP had some nice discounts for the Universal hotels. if that would work - so check and see.

really wish they would have the Senior club again. - but don't think Disney needs it.
