I'm in the process of packing and I have one whole suitcase that is devoted to baby items: wipes, diapers, desitin, snacks, etc. DH suggested that we simply ship the items down b/c he's worried we won't have enough room in the car with three big suitcases, 2 carry-ons, a double stroller and an extra carseat (for the plane rides).

So how does one go about doing this? Do I need to contact our resort? How many days should I give the package to arrive? Will the resort deliver the package to our room or will we have to pick it up at the front desk?

I would rather ship a package than stop at a grocery store in FL. I think the deals and prices I get up here are better (since I use coupons, shop when there are sales, etc.) to warrant the shipping costs. And, I'm too impatient to stop. I just want to GET THERE! KWIM?

Thank you for any suggestions.

:confused3 I am leaving in a month and this will be the first time I need to ship something as well... so I too am looking for an answer to this question.... please and thanks :Pinkbounc bumping to find knowledge.

I believe this is a great idea! If you used a travel agent to book your trip, make that call first. If you did not use a travel agent, then I would suggest calling the hotel directly to inquire about what you are proposing. The other suggestion would be to call CRO or the general number and then speak with someone who can accommodate. ONce you have it arranged make sure you have that person's name and contact info just in case.......

We just shipped five boxes down to the WL yesterday. We used UPS because the boxes were funny sizes. We were told by Disney to address it to ourselves at the resort and to make it clear when our arrival date was. Hope that helps!

Christine :)

Thanks for the info. I nned to ship a case of water down to the WL for our arrival on Monday. I know I can buy water there but for medical reasons, I have to have a certtain brand of bottled water. I too will use the UPS store. Can't wait to arrive on Monday, hopefully by that time Cindy, Dennis and whoever else will have blown through and we all will be blessed with good weather. :flower:

HI,
I have shipped snacks etc for my daughter in the past much cheaper to have them on hand. I would say to send them at least 7 days in advance. You address the box to yourself and write right on the box "Arrival Date and whatever it is. Be sure that this is large and visable.I would also recommend sending the package UPS as the first time I did it the packsge did not arrive until our third day at the resort. We were told by CM that if the package is sent regular mail that it goes to Disney's distribution center which causes the delays. Good Luck and have a great trip! :rotfl:

Thank you all for the great tips! I will be getting my package together this week and I will take it to the UPS store near me.

I am getting more and more excited for our trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone shipped things to themselves, and then had it shipped back???? We would like to ship some medical supplies to ourselves (easier than checking luggage on the plane) then have any left-overs returned ?? anyone done this?? :confused3

Okay, so I want to do this but how do I know what the address is for the resort? I am staying at CBR, I don't know the number to call them directly to ask them and to inform them that I have a package coming.

It should be on the website - if not the regular number will have a "fed ex address". FYI - I do this all the time. Usually when you check in the front desk clerk will see a note in your record that you have a package waiting (or several) - if they don't mention it make sure you ask. Don't expect the boxes to be waiting in your room.

I was told to not have my box arrive a few days before.

So we ship UPS & have it arrive the day before we get there.

Just be sure you realize that weekends cost extra & if you ship on Friday & they say 3 days, it won't get there til Wed (I think) since weekends are not business days.

You ship directly to your resort, the resort address. Look on the back of your reservation form & it will show the address there. Also if you want to be sure, call them (you can call the 800 number) & talk to a reservationist & they will be able to help you.

Have your name, arriving date (Attention arriving Guest Disney) & I put on my reservation # & address & phone number.

Get your tracking number too so you can check in case if it doesn't arrive.

When you arrive, contact bell services & they will bring it up to your room.
