I hear if you stay at a Disney Resort, you can have your souveniers sent back to your room. Is there a charge for this service? What do most of you do with video cameras...pack them around all day? Thanks so much for your input.

They changed it. You can have it sent to your hotel and pick it up there. They don't send it to your room. Also it might take a day to get it to your hotel. We usually just carried our souvenirs since we take breaks. We usually take the video cameras when we see the fireworks or just to the Magic Kingdom not to all the parks.

At least as of my visit last year you could request to have your purchases sent back to your resort (as long as you are not departing the following day). You just request this service when you make your purchase, fill out a small amount of paper work and away you go! Ready for the next shop or ToT! I highly recommend this!

There is no fee involved. When your package arrives at your resort's gift shop there will be a message on your phone, present your receipt at the gift shop and take your haul up to the room! It's like Christmas everday!!!! (at least if you shop like me and DH! :p ).

They used to send packages from the Theme Parks directly to the rooms, but stopped a few years ago ( I think)

As far as video equipment: I have the digital camera that goes in the fanny packs or my DH's many pockets on his cargo shorts!

Welcome to the Dis Kim:wave: There is no charge. I believe they require 48 hours to get the parcel to your resort. As for cameras/video gear, you can lug it around, or you can rent a locker at the parks. Usually I'll take the camcorder for only part of the day. When we go to our room or the car after the first park, the camcorder stays there.:D

We usually go to each park at least twice. Cameras/Camcorder goes with us 1 trip. We have a backpack or sometimes rent a locker. The backpack is easy to carry around.

I usually lug my camcorder around and camera. It isn't a big deal to me I guess.

Also you can have your packages sent to the front gate and pick them up in the evening before you exit the park to go back to the hotel. That is another option for you and no charge for that either.

I believe you can also send your things to the front of the park until the end of the day. When we were there two years ago we were leaving the next day so we had to get all our souvenirs, and we could not send our things back to the hotel so we picked it up at the front of the park. Not sure if they still do this or not.

Personally I like this option better.....make your purchases and have them sent to the front of the park and pick them up on your way out. The resort thing I believe takes ALOT longer. You can have anything that you purchase sent up front at any park and pick it up the same day, they do ask that you give them a couple of hours. The same routine as you would do to have something sent to the resort, fill out a form and then produce it at pick up.
It's a great perk, since you don't even have to be staying on the Disney property to have this option done.

I always had my packages sent to the resort. I had my stuff the very next day. I would pick it up at the front desk.

we always get stuff sent back and just pick it up after we get off the bus the next day. very easy and we have never had a problem with anything. I personally llike this better than front gate since especially with the buses, we usually don't go back to our room till we are done for the day after dinner and what ever so we don't have to lug everything to dinner, dtd or where ever else we are going.

we just take our camera some days, days we are going to take pictures of the fireworks or what ever and leave it in the safe the other days. we have a nice shoulder / waist padded bag that easily carries all our stuff plus camera and gets strapped in with us on all the rides for the days we take it. if we need a locker for something else( jackets or what ever) we stick it in there, if not we just carry it

I get all my gifts send back to my resort...that way I get to shop more......my other half doesnt realise just how much Ive bought!:hyper:

You can have packages sent back to the room as long as you're not checking out the next day. (Actually on e-ticket night, we had our pictures from Splash Mountain sent back and since it was after midnight on Monday, we didn't receive them until Wednesday.) If you are staying concierge, they will put the packages in your room. If not, they will be at a gift shop at your hotel. The CM's will tell you which one and about what time they should be there.

This is a nice option, however my daughter once had a shop at Epcot send a souvenir glass she had purchased as a gift back to our hotel. The glass made it to the hotel, but unfortunately it was broken. We happened to receive it the evening before our departure. At first the resort expected us to go back to Epcot to pick up a replacement, but we did not have time. Luckily, the Disney magic kicked in and they managed to get a replacement to the resort before our departure.

Just something to keep in mind.
