Food and alcohol for sure can not... customized items can, but may take a bit longer (as you add on the time to customize them). I had personal experiences with both.
They have also recently tightened their policy re including items in the bag that were purchased outside of that store. Don't know if its a security issue or not. However, this past Fall Once Upon a Toy at Dis Springs refused to let me include in the bag a small non-liquid item (solid soap) I had just purchased at Basin. The CM was polite but firm. She checked with her Manager first before giving me her answer. Go back to Basin & have them fill in the form and ship it to your room if you don't want to carry it. Which I wasn't going to do (not going to take the extra 20-30 mins to line up & go through the paperwork) for a small item.

Wow - I had never even thought about what would happen if you combined items between stores! Thanks for that info - last time we mostly just had our character experience photos shipped to the room as we didn't get a lot of souvenirs.

Yes... no food is allowed to be sent back. In the case where I learned this (as I did not know before hand) it was packaged treats from the Japan Pavilion at Epcot.
I hadn't thought about stuff like that. The item I had experience with were customized ornaments from the xmas store at DTD. They had no problem sending them on to the resort.

I've heard it is usually by noon the next day. It must be picked up at the resort gift shop unless you are at Club Level, then they will leave it in your room. It can take up to 2 days and it is recommended not to have items sent the day before you leave.

I want to say they ask that you make sure you have 24 hours, but it normally isn't that long.
We went to pick something up and there was a couple looking for something they sent over that morning and it wasn't there. The CM told them they had until the following morning, but it guess they were leaving before then so they were pretty ticked.

Thanks! We're only staying 3 days, so I wanted to be sure we didn't have to leave before items would arrive, if we chose to do this. Looks like we'll only be sending purchases back to the room for the first day or so!
