Ok, so this was discussed in another post, but I just want to verify...

if i bring my digital camera and my laptop... i will be able to load my images onto my laptop and then save to a disk so i can send them home via email to my friends by using a standard floppy disk?

i want to send pics home, and will have my laptop and digital camera... so will this work?

Yes, if you visit the Internet Cafe during the hours it is staffed, the manager will assist you with accessing the floppy drive.

oh god the hours it is staffed! what are those hours? any idea? i usually get online in the cafe around 2am... but im sure i will do what i need to get done.:earsboy:

The hours are posted in the Internet Cafe. There's only one staff person, but that person breaks up the day so that (s)he is there intermittantly throughout the day and evening (although not usually at 2am).

I believe the hours for the internet cafe manager are also listed in the Navigators. (Usually in the Internet Cafe "Ad")

does anyone recall the name of the staff person from the magic that was on a cruise recently? just wondering how often those guys change. i knew the one from the last cruise pretty well, kinda hope he is still there. funny guy!

On the December 1, 2001 Magic, we had Melissa (clearly not a "guy" :) ). But remember that for many positions on the ship, they rotatate on and off the ship (There is a limit to how long anyone can stay on the ship), so just because someone is not there now, doesn't mean they won't be back later.

Lorenzo was the Internet Cafe manager on our cruise last year.

But I'm sure Melissa was "nice".

The Internet Cafe is actually run by a company called Digital Seas (<i>motto: "The earth is mostly water... somebody has to wire it.TM"</i>). I wonder if the Internet Cafe managers are actually Disney employees or Digital Seas employees?

OH MY GOD ITS LORENZO!!!

THAT GUY WAS AWESOME.
I wish he was still on the boat.

I guess Melissa and I will have to get to know each other like Lorenzo and I did. Sad, isnt it? I got to know the internet person on a cruise?

I did a little digging and found out that the managers of the labs are employees of Digital Seas. There is actually pictures of many of them on the digital seas website, but no picture of melissa. There is a picture of Lorenzo in a bar... what a playa.

Yep, I did the same digging you did, Matty02. I didn't find Melissa either, but I did find a "Lorraine and Debbie" posing in front of a Disney ship.

Hey Dave -

I can do the work in that job description! Then I could cruise a lot for free! They do give Internet Managers Veranda Cabins, don't they?

Then I could email my DW while I was cruising.

Then I could email her divorce attorney a lot.

Then I could email everything I used to own, because she wouldn't let me visit it in person anymore.

Or I could just keep cruising with her when I can afford it, and never have to meet her divorce attorney. Maybe I'll just hold on to my resume and think it over for awhile.

Sorry, Al. I'm pretty sure the Internet Cafe manager doesn't get a verandah cabin. I'd be surprised if it's even an outside cabin on Deck 1. Probably somewhere below the water line on Decks A, B, or C. That's gotta' be a deal breaker right there... so you don't even have to worry about the divorce attorneys!

LOL!
