Hi,
Has anyone sent their own gift baskets down before their trip to be put in their rooms upon arrival? We're taking my mother and m-in-law down in Nov. to the CBR and I'd like to have baskets waiting in their rooms when we check in. Can you tell me who to send the baskets to?
I'd like to customize them instead of ordering from a local florist or gift store.

Thanks!
Linda

Linda, that may be hard to do when you first check in. They may assign you a room in the computer but if another guest shows up with a request and you haven't checked in yet they could get your room.

If you could have them sent after you are checked in I think you would have a better chance of getting them into the room.

Thanks Safetymom...I was thinking the same thing - then someone else would get a nice welcome basket! I've read about people sending stuff ahead of time, but maybe that's only for concierge rooms? Maybe I'll call the resort and see what they say.

Thanks for the reply!

I think calling the resort is a great idea. They might have some suggestions for you. Please report what they say. I am sure others would like to know.

At first the CM said you could do that, but they could deliver the basket after you checked in. Then she said it was easier to go thru the Disney florist. I didn't ask if the florist's basket would be waiting in the room...hmmm, maybe I'll make a second call to the resort.

I will tell you that I am staying at AKL Concierge and have been working out the details of the gifts I'd like waiting in the room with an itinerary planner. We are going to be checking in around midday and so, although they will TRY to have my requests waiting in the room, they may need to wait until that evening once they are sure the room has been cleaned and we are in. My point is that I don't think they like to take orders for things to be in the room before you get there. Maybe if you are checking in rather late...but still. What about going thru Gifts of a Lifetime which a lot of people have recommended? They will customize it to your wishes. Or Disney Florist? I have read good things about their Family Gift Bag in particular. Maybe you could arrange to have it delivered late afternoon on the day of your arrival. My DH sends Disney Florist food baskets to us when we go without him and we come home from a day in the park and arrive to a freshly-made-up room and a treat from the man in our lives! It's so festive! Don't worry about it not being there when you check in. Just think, if they end up giving you a complimentary upgrade someone else might get your stuff!!:Pinkbounc
