Hello!

I'm planning on sending a "care package" down to Pop Century for while the boyfriend and I are there. I'm planning on sending bread, an inexpensive toaster that I wouldn't care if I left it there, peanut butter, jelly, pop tarts, nutrigrain bars, and rice krispie treats so that we'll have things for breakfast, light lunches, and snacks.

I was also thinking of sending some very well packed bottles of gin and tonic water... though I'm nervous about the glass and the possibilty of the tonic exploding, so perhaps I'll wait until we get down there and do a grocery stop on the way to the hotel - does Florida sell liquor in their grocery stores? :drinking1

Anyway, my question was, has anyone else sent a package ahead for a stay at Pop Century, and if so, was there any handling charge?

Thanks!

I am planning on sending a cheap styrofoam cooler. Some water, breakfast foods etc when we go.

Can you buy the bottle of gin in a plastic bottle. Not a GIN drinker so not sure if it comes that way.

I would not worry about the tonic exploding. Remember a lot of this stuff gets shipped every day. Just pack really well.

I know others have shipped. I plan on sending 2 day so it arrives the same day we do. I am not bringing any of it back so what we do not eat stays. I plan on leaving a note for mousekeeping anything unopened is theirs to take home.

:bounce: I am going to disney in 400 Plus days!:bounce:

I was thinking of sending a pkg too, only I was going to buy some heavy stuff at the grocery store on the way in (we renting a town car that includes this service) I think it would be heavy to pack water and gin etc... I was thinking of light weight items, crackers, beef jerkey, peanuts (I'm hypoglycemic and need high protein items!) I was thinking of carry on luggage for the plane ride and carrying on a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Gran Marnier - and maybe packing in luggage a box of wine... (oh I checked the airlines website and its ok to carry on the liquor as long as its sealed and stays sealed!)

You can buy gin in plastic bottles, though the boyfriend won't let me... He needs his Bombay Sapphire. I think he can "survive" on whatever I send down though. ;)

Good point about the weight... I was also planning on doing the town car service, so we might as well utilize the free grocery stop and buy the water while we're there. And, maybe the gin, if that's available in grocery stores in Florida (can't get liquor in grocery stores here in NY, but I know that you can in other states...)

Ali,
We used a town car service with a grocery store stop also. We purchased the styrofoam cooler there. We also purchased beer and wine, but I do not remember seeing liquor, just beer and wine. I am sure that you could call ahead to the town car company and ask them.
