We have friends who have not been to WDW in 15 years and their DD has never been to WDW ever.

Our DD would like to send her BFF - the DD mentioned above, a gift.

What is the best way ?

Should we use the Disney Florist ?
Maybe the best place for a Disney themed item.

Could we mail something to her without knowing their reservation number ?

Please help - they leave on November 9th.

Thanks !

I have used and been very happy with the Disney Florist in the past. As long as you know the resort and the persons name, you do not need their room number.

Belle67 - thank you.

We have sent items from the Disney Florist to ourselves - but never to a friend at WDW.

I thought the Mickey lunch bag, from the Disney Florist, filled with snacks would be a great item my DD can send her BFF.

Pooh 2001 you are welcome, I have sent that before to my niece and she loved it. Have a great day!

I send a note to the kids I took as did their parents and grandparent..I gave them the address of the resort..date of arrival and complete name. Each of the kids got 3 letters and each time they got something, they were excited all over again:)You could mail her friend something and that way, it would be selected before hand. Just be sure to give it enough time to get there..

I always call ahead and ask the front desk if a character can bring a welcome card or birthday balloon to the guest. The DVC resorts will leave balloons in the room with a greeting postcard from a favorite character at no charge if you ask. I've requested this for anniversaries, birthdays, and honeymoons. Lots of fun and sure gives a personalized touch!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will order the disney florist lunch box, I will have my DD send her BFF a card welcoming her to WDW. I will also call the resort (BWV - yes DVC's) and see if they can send her BFF a Snow White balloon or card. Her BFF loves Snow White.

Thank you again!

What a great idea! I love the DISboard and everyone who posts. My DH and I are traveling with the my Sister her DH and my nephew (9).

We are staying at the AKV prior to our DCL cruise and a balloon and card for my nephew would be a great way to start the trip!:smickey:

You could also send something to your friends via USPS. My mother had to ship insulin to my husband while we were at WDW, and she just put his name, resort name, and resort address on the package. The package came while we were at the parks and we returned to our room to find a voice mail from the front desk saying we had a package waiting...

Not to be rude, but how much did that cost? We're going in 15 days with my Dsis and her family. The kids would really enjoy that.

Thanks!!

Sorry, see you said no charge. I didn't read that part, my mind was too busy thinking of possibilities.

I will call the BWV (where my DD BFF is staying) and see if they can do a Snow White first visit to WDW card for her BFF. No birthday or anniversary celebrations. Just her BFF first visit to WDW.

I think we will do the Disney Florist snack lunch box. Just have it a bit changed for my DD's BFF. Her BFF likes water, oreos. chips, choclate bars. I'll ask for an apple and a Snow White pin or balloon to be added too. Get the connections - an apple & Snow White :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Snow White is my DD's BFF favorite Princess.
My DD's is Belle (plus my DD is an advid reader) ;)

Thank for all the helpful hints. I will have ny DD wrute the note this weekend and mail it on Monday, 11/3/08. I will call the Disney Floirst on Tuesday for delivery of the snack lunch bag on Sunday 11/9/08 when they arrive. I will call the BWV on Thursday (3 days before arrival) and ask about the card and possible balloon welcoming my DD's BFF to WDW for the 1st time.

It will be so magical for my DD's BFF arrival at WDW :goodvibes

I have used the Disney florist with great success.

Just a tip-If you are mailing something to the resort, use UPS or FedEx. All the mail from the USPS has to go through a central location before it gets to the resort and will be delayed.

I found out they arrive on Sunday 11-9-08. So if I mail the package on 11-4-08, that leaves 3 days to get to WDW (11-7-08) and then 3 days to get to the BWV (11-10-08). Maybe the package will be waiting for them in their BWV when they get back from the Parks on Monday. 11-10-08. :goodvibes Six days of package travel time is OK.

Instead of Disney Florist - we are mailing a pakage of Oreo cookies and a Walt Disney Trivia Book (volume2).

From the Publisher: More fascinating facts and tantalizing trivia about the Happiest Place on Earth. Hundreds of multiple-choice questions with in-depth answers. Same popular format. All new information. Both a game and a reference.

I will also call the BWV and see if they can do a ballon and card for her the AM of day of arrival. I will call on Friday, 11-7-08 - maybe they will know their BWV room # by then (3 days before).

Thanks for all the help. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
