I recently read a thread about sending stuff ahead to your resort. I think for my family this would be a great, and I am wondering...

Did you call the resort to inform them a package was coming?
Did you put your arrival date on the package anywhere?
How far in advance should I be sending this?
Will they hold it until I arrive if I send it ten days ahead?

Just looking for some tips. :sunny:

i would call just to make sure to see how long they can hold it etc.. when i got married there i sent a couple of boxes beforehand.. but, it seems like i sent them a week ahead of time.. and i also had a wedding planner so, i dunno if she informed the resort i was sending something or what..

so.. my advice is just call and see what they say.. they may have a different address to send to also..

Thanks, Copper.

I was married at Disney too! :bride: :groom:

We lugged everything down in our Blazer, and I was afraid to leave my dress overnight in the truck, so we hauled the wedding gear into the overnight hotel stops.

Disney weddings are pure magic! :wizard: :cloud9:

Hi, I have sent packages ahead to the WL in the past. I am not sure how long they will hold it. 5 days ahead should be plenty. You need to address it to yourself and on the package state clearly WILL ARRIVE ON with the date of your arrival on it. You could include your ressie number if you wanted. You will have to pick it up at the front desk. The only problem I had was that I sent it regular mail instead of UPS and it arrived 3 days after we did. I was told by the CM that if they are sent regular mail they go to the Disney distribution center and it takes longer to get it.UPS will deliver it directly to the resort! Good Luck and have a great time! :sunny:

We often mail things to ourselves for our Christmas trips. WDW has certain requirements as rdsx28 has stated above. Since we are talking Disney here and things change quite often ::yes:: , I would call the resort and ask them specifically how they want those packages addressed. And I second the suggestion that you use UPS. We had to wait for a package that was sent USPS last year and the ones sent UPS were waiting for us when we arrived!

Also, our packages have always been delivered to us. We did not need to pick them up.
